Nice install, Can not wait to see how Eric like riding with them. I guess they are a set it and forget type of thing? Cust curious is that cover plastic?
They are one of the best purchases I have done, I completely love those highway pegs, I use them more than my normal floorboards. They did take a long time to dial into the way I like them, but once you get them set, you are golden. If you ever use them, i would recommend using a little dab of white nail polish to mark them where you like them. That way you can always get back to perfect if anything happens. Yes, that piece is plastic, most of the outer shell on goldwings is plastic, ignore my brother the goldwing hater LOL.
Goldstrike Highway Pegs look well made, ascetically pleasing. But even in their most forward position they do not provide enough reach/stretch out for riders over 6’ w long legs. On the 2018+ Wing any highway pegs need to be at a minimum at the engine guard..
Found a fix for that after about 10 mins of freeway riding over a year ago, just rest the back of your heel on them. I will mention that I have a Corbin seat so my solution may not be the same for all.
I guess it depends on how far you lean. I think you would have to lean pretty far over to hit them. But I will have my brother answer your question. It is his bike and I really don't know the answer. Thanks for watching and stay safe out there 👍
the pegs themselves would probably hit around the same time the tip over protection would hit, but the pegs if done right tip upwards, so the bike should be able to still sit on the tip overs. To be honest, i havent tipped it over to try that, but it would be very close, you wont hit them on pavement by driving.
You know I went back and looked at the instructions and my video, and no where does goldstrike mention torque specs on any of the bolts on this setup. I have not had any issues at all with this system and I just tightened to what I thought was good. word of advice, dont super tighten any of them till you adjust it to where you want it. It took me some messing around to find exactly how i wanted them. if you do get them where you want them, you can always use a little locktite to make sure they dont go anywhere.
Instructions were complete garbage! Your video saved me! Thank you!
Glad that we were of help. Thanks for watching and stay safe out there 👍

What size tool did you use to remove the bolt from the bike to put in the 70 mm bolt. Tks
I believe it was a 12 mm socket to take out that bolt. Thanks for watching and stay safe out there 👍

Do these reduce the lean angle ? Or hit before the roll bar in case of a tip over?

What was the torque on the front long bolt ?
