If Morgan had sung this the first time it was showcased, she would be an internstional legend and all other versions would be measured against this. As it is the here and now we can only say, "What a beautiful, perfect rendition of this classic." Millions should hear this, not just us lucky UA-cam few.
This has been one of my personal favorites from you and Doug. Love the old standards love them more when they're done with such class by voice and guitar.
I am so busy watching Doug craft those chords on the guitar, that I'm now going to have to listen to it again to fully appreciate Morgan's beautiful vocals!
This is the third cover I have heard of this song, others by Bette Midler (very upbeat) and Linda Ronstadt (more in this style). I enjoy all three equally, which puts you in terrific company. Are you planning on going into the studio at some future date and recording a Quarantunes album? It would have to be a triple disc set by now.
@@Hazealot006 well, you're right that Ella originally recorded it so I'll give you that; it's an Ella Fitzgerald classic, but Billie did record it on the CD I have, so, yes, she did sing it.
@@rockyjamescurtiss9471 Oh I didnt know, would love to hear her version 😊 I always thought it was Ellas version from 1956 that made this popular, but apparently it was recorded all the way back in 1934 by Ethel Waters.
Cover songs...have you seen Neil Sedaka doing 3 song concerts on Facebook?. Everyday he post a 3 song concert, Many unknown songs written by Neil Sedaka along with the well known. Check out the Sedaka song book for covers. Neil Sedaka has been doing this for about two months since we all got shut in
Minimal mouth distortion. Your usual mouth antics make me turn off the video. Without the antics you and your voice become beautiful and you rendition becomes a real treat.
The American Songbook stands the test of time. And Morgan James sings it so very well.
That Cole Porter is a nut! Morgan is incredible, as usual. Doug is the perfect understated accompaniment.
miss Otis regrets not having you two perform her song... i'm the lucky one that can hear this awesome performance.
Quality never goes out of fashion.
As neither does good taste.

I will be grateful to be one of the UA-cam fortunates.
Simply one of the most beautiful voices in music.. Morgan you seem to knock it out of the park every time loved it! ❤️❤️❤️😁👍
There seems to be the Morgan James' version then all the others, including the original.
@@machtschnell7452 There are two types of people those that like Morgan, and those who have not heard of her yet.
@@iansampson7663 Absolutely right Ian. Just wish I'd posted your observation first!! 👏👏👍

Absolutely beautiful! 👍🎵👍⭐
Love...so smooth & so wonderful...like a Lullaby...
Que linda versión!!!. Excelente, una belleza. Gracias Morgan y Doug por compartir su arte, muchas gracias. Saludos desde Argentina
Heartbreaker of a song! Guitar man killed it, and Morgan swept up the pieces! Fantastic guys.
Classic and lovely as expected on such a sad one . ♥️♥️♥️
This and Lonely Teardrops in the same set! Extraordinary! Morgan can do anything. Today's Ronstadt.
Absolutely love this. One of my favourite songs delivered beautifully ❤
I really appreciate the two of you doing such high quality covers of great old tunes such as this one. Please continue!
Beautifully done Morgan and Doug! I felt very sorry for Miss Otis. Oh my! 💖
Beautiful rendition . Boys your wonderful voice and guitar are perfect.

Such a special voice! Love this arrangement! (Oh, and I’m super jealous of all y’all’s guitar collection).
Do you think you could do Stormy Weather?
Simply beautiful in every way 😊

🎸👏👏👏👏👏Doug ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Morgan you are 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Two talented people!!!!
Excellent singing as always. The way you've done your hair today is very flattering Morgan.
Makes me weep. The two of you are so perfect
Beautiful, Morgan.

so classy
Holy shit. Where did you find that one?
Such a sad song ...
Is he playing the same song ???
Я люблю эту тётку!:)
Muito bom !
Question: Has Doug played a tune on each of his guitars during these quarantune sessions? I suspect he has a few more to get to.
Such a tall order to sing a Billie Holliday classic, well done!
Billie Holiday never sang this, you are probably thinking of Ella Fitzgerald 😊

If that's what you are focusing on it is really sad. If she really made the stank face, it would sound even better I'm sure.
