Great base concept, I used this on my own game however, I found a couple of issues with using it and had to make a couple of adjustments; first I changed out the L2 Piston for a pair of L5 Pistons for maximum speed for faster crushing and medium to high level raids, I also set the timer down to 250milliseconds to make the crusher faster; second I found that a 3 block wide crush pad wasn't big enough and some enemies, mostly Haybots, could attack the bumper and not get crushed; to solve this I extended the crush pad to by one block on either side making it a 5 block width; third this issue came due to the increased size of the crush pad, enemies could now ride the crush pad to circumvent being squashed; to solve this I went into creative for a bit of testing, I built the base version of this and then put a secondary bumper and stomper above the first, so that if enemies managed to get on top of the first crusher they'd still have a second crusher to destroy them, although I have yet to actually implement this last bit in my survival save as more testing is still required.
@@crazyjplays3392 I just added wooden fence on top of crusher so they can't climb on it so now I'm just controlling whole thing from above, now when I'm ready to expand, I need to worry about tape and farmbots
So an update as to how I ended up fixing bots being able to ride the Crush pad to get over/around it, on the block directly above the piston make another pad that's the same size as the crush pad, any enemies that get the bright idea to try and ride the crush pad will get sandwiched between the retracting crush pad and it's new roof, it's highly effective against Totebots and Haybots, Tapebots though will try to shoot it, so I recommend keeping the farm relatively small. Bonus Tips: Raids can be triggered with just a handful of crops, the types of crops along with the amount being planted or still growing determines the raid level; also once a "Raid Level" has been decided it gets locked in at that level, this means that by planting a handful (about half a stack of seeds) of carrots early in-game time (open the logbook with 'L' the in-game clock is on the left ((by early I mean from 1AM-3:50AM in-game))) and then waiting for the "Unauthorized Farming Detected" message, you can then continue planting after getting that message; the 'Unauthorized Farming Detected' message starts the timer and always triggers just after 4AM in-game time, that message is also accompanied by a scan (unseen by the players since its just code) that checks what types of fruits/vegetables the player/players have planted, how many were planted, and then determines an appropriate raid level in response however, since the scan only happens once and this is what we can take advantage of; by planting only carrots in a small number we can trigger only a low level raid between 1-3, the Raid Level once determined is LOCKED IN, so we can immediately go right back to planting even more crops of a higher value making sure to fertilize ALL of the crops, and when the raid comes we'll only have to deal with the usual Totebots and Haybots, just make sure that your entire farm is ready to harvest before the next 'Unauthorized Farming Detected' message shows up and you won't need to worry about raids too much.

just one other question before I destroy the first farm. I made mine about the same size as yours in the video but is there a limit to the size like lets just for example say I wanted to make a 50x50 or 100 x 100 farm maybe extreme but makes the point. Can I make this same set up with the same mechanical supplies with only the wood/stone needing more or is there a limit to the farm size with this set up?? I know you said no limit on the censors distance.
I'd argue the more weight added the more pistons and suspension you will need. Me personally I would keep the internal walls as 1 but for the squashing plate, and the triggers I would split them. If a bot attacks 1 end I dont see much point in have the other end of the wall also squash down onto nothing. But thats up to you, my only advice would be if you make it bigger, you will just need more pistons to support the weight over its length, same with the suspension. You might see it sagging or warping under its own weight is all (you also might be 100% fine too, depends on how the game wants to be)
@@wo0dy OK thats what I was wondering as it grew if I might need more of the mechanical components for it to work. whats about with the censor range? I got to the part where I am trying to hook up the censors to the logic gate and the connections not possible. Was this changed since the video came out?? It seems though if the connections close then it hooks but if it's close for 2 then it's far away for the other 2 and can't connect those 2 censors
the only thing that will stop the connections is if the sensor isnt physically connected to anything . What i mean is, if you build a wall and have a sensor 1 end, and the logic the other, it wont matter how long that wall is it will still connect However. If i build a wall have the sensor on 1 end and he logic on the other, but break that wall in half the sensor will lose connections to the logic as there is no physical connection
The corners have never really been an issue, but the crush plate is build in a way that the corners meet in a diagonal with the edge furthest from the farm being the longest, depending how you set it up on the logic, you will never miss. I followed everything but it still didn't work.
