@@mocarpenter8836 Right on. I grew up in 1st ward. Went to MHS. I lived in Turtle Creek out there near Cheat Lake for awhile with my son's mother. Can't say I miss it 😂. In fact, I won't miss a thing about WV when I move here shortly. I'm opting for aquamarine, crystal clear water and snow white beaches instead of the 7 months of winter we had this year. Making almost 3X the money I do here doesn't make that decision any harder.
Yes, stay out. It’s very peaceful and beautiful. Also, this whole mountain side is armed so it’s very safe here. 42 years in the mountains of West Virginia and love it.
I am a native West Virginian, but live in Kentucky at the present time due to a teaching position. The State of WV is absolutely gorgeous with its mountains, valleys, lakes, streams, and rivers. There are some counties in the State that you feel like you are in God's country it is so rural with people living two or three miles apart. Bigfoot has been sighted by many people in various parts of WV. Every Thanksgiving I rent a rustic cabin in WV at a well known state park. I vividly remember one year there was an interesting experience. It was my last night in the cabin and about 3:00 or 4:00 a.m., something or someone hit the side of the cabin with a force so strong that I thought it was going to come down. I didn't dare go outside to see what it was as I had no flashlight and it was so dark that you couldn''t see your hand in from of your face. Now, I don't know if this was a Bigfoot. The foundation is about 4 ft high. Whoever hit the side of the cabin had to be at least 8ft. tall. So, it remain a mystery. I have returned every year since and had no further problems.
What do you mean by foundation is 4 ft high? That can't be the night of the cabin right? I thought foundation was just what the cabin sat on , I don't know much about that stuff that's so just wondering what you mean by that and the person thing doing it had to be 8 foot. I just didn't understand.
This brings back a strange experience from my youth. Dad had a custom van in the 80s that he, mom, my brother and myself would spend lots of weekends in the mountains of West Virginia. After spending a day fishing Blackwater around Davis, we traveled through Thomas driving not too far until he pulled off on some sort of access road. Dad decided we'd spend the night there. I remember being woke up by the combination of the mom's voice saying something is trying to get in, and the van rocking like we were in an earthquake. Dad grabed a flashlight and slung the side door open. I remember mom telling him to close the door but he shined the light around then stepped out. He briefly looked around and said he saw nothing. Mom told him to get in and we were leaving. He drove back to the parking lot of a small store i think was in Thomas. Mom spent the whole ride scolding dad for opening the door. The sun was up by then. Dad said it was probably a bear but in all the time i spent camping since, I've never experience anything like that.
Best to leave if you visit after you see what you came to see. Unless it's heartbreaking depression poverty, drugs, or inbreds. You'll be right at home.
@@HonorableBeniah-A 😂. I'm from Morgantown... The state university is there for God's sake, and I can show you a sister-cousin literally 5 minutes outside city limits. There's nothing there but heartbreak, generational poverty, addiction, and generally poor mental and physical health. Pretty big trade-off for seeing some pretty mountains and rivers if you ask me. There's many beautiful places in this country that you can carve a life out in. You'll never make it half way up a mountain of mediocrity in West Virginia. I've been heartbroken, financially ruined, and generally miserable when I've moved back a few times. You get stuck. I've been happy and successful every time I've left. Good riddance WV.
Hey Roland. A 10 minute story and a 1 hour commercial. Your a genius. You couldn't wait for like 20 minutes till I and we fell asleep. This was your second and last chance.

I didn’t WANT to live here. Born & raised in Miami, Florida Hubby born here both of us in US Navy. Came to visit, fell in love, been here since 1998- REFUSED to ever leave. Love it!❤
Born and raised in West Virginia. My family went camping all the time up in the beautiful mountains. If we didn't get a cabin, it was camping . Cranberry River. I'm proud to be from West Virginia .
Ocala National Forest is a busy place. The US Forest Service calls it heavy usage. However, in 2008 there was an incident with a death due to an animal attack near a tent, that was attributed to a bear. Most deaths in the park are in the water, alligators.
I camp very remotely, the further the better. Never have heard or seen anything other than animals. I’d be more concerned with banjo playing weirdos than anything else. That being said, I keep a .410 derringer in my pocket at all times. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it…..
I pack heat for a reason once creepers know this it’s game over . I’m a proud responsible gun owner . Ain’t no one gonna bother me . I was a very young woman when I first shot a 264 magnum a beast of a rifle .
Don't say ain't no one gonna bother me because plenty of people carrying guns have been killed , anyone can catch you off guard before you have a chance to pull it out , also these stories are speaking of something unnatural , something not human and a gun in the first story didn't help him one bit. That said I'm a gun owner as well and I def am 100 percent for carrying guns also and being prepared for the unthinkable.
My uncle Ed had an RV and took me camping in my teens. One night we were bored sitting around the campfire. Ed started a farting contest and we both laughed aloud. Suddenly this tall huge apelike creature came from the forest. It grunted as it bent over then unleashed a whirlwind gas release unlike anything we've ever seen. Both of us were blown from our folding chairs and the fire was completely blown out. It was gone when we both stood back up. Uncle Ed says he still can't get the smell out of the RV.
Don't know if someone is reading this, but if you are: You are amazing and beautiful! I believe in you! ❤
