I swear Mung's VA puts his soul into every line in this show. His delivery when giving insults is perfect.

Mung and Chowder's delivery of insults is so convincing that it seems as if both their voice actors became genuinely angry and directed those words at someone, and the crew decided to capture and incorporate it into the show.
I like to believe that before every time there’s an insult session in the show, the crew would purposefully do or say something to the cast to get them angry at each other to make their insults that much stronger. As for Mung Daal and Miss Endive, Dwight and Mindy (their VAs) probably just legit hate each other in real life 😅

Dwight Schultz is probably the only man who was capable of voicing Mung and he did one hell of a fantastic job doing it. Animation doesn't really do him justice sometimes, tbh.

The creator of Chowder, C.H. Greenblat, was a writer for SpongeBob and other shows like Grimm Adventures. He wrote the episodes with all the 4th wall breaks. When he got his own show, he made it nothing but 4th wall breaks!
And it worked.

I missed Chowder. It's a whacky cartoon and funny. I love how some designs on the characters moved. It gives me a calming filling. I watched this show from the start to finish. So nostalgic from my childhood.

Had Chowder gone on for longer, they would’ve had to recast him sooner or later because Nicky Jones hit puberty by then. Same can be said for the rest of the child actors.

Why did Mung and Truffles even get together in the first place?
They probably were a lot less nicer to each other when they started out. When you spend most of your life with someone, eventually, you start to learn they do a lot of things that get under your skin, and they've been together for many years. Mung told the story once but it was intentionally cut off as a joke and never explained. There was also a flashback that shows Truffles was head over heels for him at one point.
