Agreed and also in marketing! My family and I went to go see it this last week and I'm bummed we didn't get the promo. And.. honestly it was just an "ok" movie for us so we don't really feel like going again.
I believe it was a planned thing to let us know a week after so. People will want to wait a week after release to watch it. It also boost late sales since I watched it last week I do plan to watch it again for the promo.
Even better, they should introduce like mini starter decks that are Moana themed as theater giveaways. While the Moana promo is nice, its still a bit far off from being playable for new players and is just a collectible.
So interestingly, in Orlando Fl there are only 2 Cinemark theatres and the main one is on Universal Studios property (Disney's competitor). So, to get the promo you have to support Disney's competitor and pay $25 to park.
The other is actually not far from my school, so guess I’ll watch the movie again. It’s too much of a pain to deal with secondary market, when the theater is literally a half hour away.
The second one is down the street on Idrive. About 10 maybe 15 minutes minutes from Universal at Artegon Marketplace. You don't need to go to Universal.
Not a big fan of the rollout. I kinda feel like this may have been a money grab kinda of deal. Not trying to say that in a negative way towards the game, but it should be done on release and with plenty of time for people to plan and go. Closest one to me is like 3 or 4 hours away so not a close drive. But, by doing it this way, I feel like they are trying to get people to watch it once and then go return to get the promo. Thats the only thing I can think of as far as why they would have done it this way
Not to mention RB/Disney didn’t have a Moana princess enchanted with set 6 release at the same time. Everyone was anticipating it and then the set dropped. community disappointment could be heard
This is yet another example of what is probably the game's biggest pain point at the moment: Ravensburger is a very old European company, and they do not treat North America with the same care as Europe when it comes to communication, outreach, etc.. The EU literally has had content creator set champs every set since Inklands where they get content creators together to play and get footage, no such thing for NA. EU creators get early access to product like starter decks, whereas only big press outlets in NA get early product. And I get that the US alone is way bigger than Europe, but that only excuses so much.

Yugioh gave movie promos too.
Oh really? I never got any of those!

That a fair take, I just don't think there was any strategy to release the week after the movie.
Could be wrong.

They should sell lorcana packs in front of theater
That would be awesome!
Looks like the card is being given away in the US on Dec. 6th. Just go with your daughter again, or buy tickets to Moana and watch some other movie.
Went to my local cinemark asking if promo card will be available on Friday and I was told not sure 😂
Yeah, this had to be a last-minute decision, because this is terrible timing. Let’s not wait to announce it next time, deal? 😞
Absolutely perfect take!
😍

Hmmm that's an interesting partnership then....

Theater want more people to come after Thanksgiving. This will incentivize them. Not a fan of this though. I did see the movie already.
