Would have loved to see this video before my own journey started! I got the same Visa and Greencard. Filing took my lawyers 5 months. Getting the Greencard approved took exactly 11 months until it was approved and another 2 weeks to get it physically.
Hey guys, been a while since I last commented on your videos. I watch every video love the house updates and looking forward to the Florida home that Ant spoke about ?? Keep the great content coming 👍🏻🇬🇧
Great to hear from you Paul. It has definitely been a while and glad to know you are still watching :) We will be heading to Florida in a few weeks so will hopefully update soon after. Hope you are good.
Hey… Nice and crisp (yet detailed) explanation on L1A to GC process. Just wanted to point out the step you mentioned after your medical, will be your Bio metric (can come fast within 30-45 days) and then… you will need to wait for 10-12,13,1x months to see the approval status of I140 (and I485 if filed concurrently). You can see the current waiting time on USCIS website by selecting the case type location where your case has been filed. That’s what I’m aware so thought of sharing with y’all! Peace ✌️
Thank you, appreciate that. The plan is to be as clear as possible so it is good to know it came across well. Our attorney's have not mentioned the next steps yet, so that is good to know. It looks like the current estimate is 10 -12 months. There will be a sense of relief once it is all complete.
I have the same problems with my veins and was told to ask them to use a baby or butterfly needle. Works so much better! Also, how weird they sometimes do things in all these countries. When I first moved to the UK, I as allowed to drive without getting a UK license for 1 year, after that I couldn't drive.
Ah, thanks. That is good to know. I will make sure to ask from now on. It may save me getting jabbed up a few times! I think there is technically a cap to how long we can use our UK licenses here too, but we will see. Seems like getting the US license may take some time.
great video. If we are here for 5 yrs in managerial capacity in L1A, are we still eligible for EB1C filing? I heard, we should have worked one year abroad in the last three years before filling the petition.
That is very good point that I may have not mentioned in my previous videos. You do need to have worked one year abroad in the last 3 years, therefore you must apply for the EB1C within 3 years of arriving in the USA. Most employers will plan for you to apply after 1 year.
@@ANTSEL thanks for the reply. Recently couple of my coworkers have got GC approved in EB1C and they were here for 6 years continuous and they had to do concurrent filing. So, is there a workaround?, I am not sure, how the 1yr rule applies here.
It may be worth checking with you co-workers which GC they were approved on. As far as I am aware and everything stated on the USCIS website states that you must have been working 1 year abroad in the last 3 years. I do know if you go over the 3 years, that you can apply for another GC category like EB2 or EB3. All is definitely not lost if you do not get EB1C, but it is the prefered one to go for.
@@ANTSEL Besides the criteria that we should have been employed as a manager in offshore fora year. It doesnot matter if we apply at 2nd year or 6 year. we should be good is what the person told me. He got his EAD approved on EB1C recent;y
Thanks for watching. If you are moving from an L1A, there should not be any travel issues as you can travel freely on the L1A status. However, our attorney has asked us to inform them of when we are travelling so they can advise on what documentation we might need.
Hello , I had also same process and i filled i140+i485 concurrently by Feb /2022 after i went to support center give biometric infos , now i am waiting EAD and Advance Prole Card , I hope it will be approved in this year . what is your time line for filing ? when did you file 140 and 458 ?
We filed our I-140 in December 2022 and that was approved a month ago. We were very surprised at how quick that was. Our I-485 was only filed last month, so are waiting for bio metrics etc. We were told that it should be done in 10 months. Our attorney predicted everything being complete by May 2023.
@@ANTSEL it was approved in 6 months, my petition is waiting since 4 months let’s see how it will be handled I filed concurrently because I am living in USA right now .
Thank you for the explanation, i have a few questions Do we need a lawyer or can we do this on our own? What other documents do we need other than the I 140 and the I 1485 ?? For example: marriage certificate/ birth certificate stuff like that.. I am an L2 visa holder my husband is the l1A visa holder what is the process for the L2 ? And we have a baby Thank you in advance
Hi! The employment based green cards are always sponsored by the employer so they will always use a lawyer for this process. I have not heard of anyone doing this without representation. There are other forms, the I-765 and I-131 for work authorisation and travel. When your husband applies for the green card, you will apply as part of the same petition on the I-140, including any children. Hope this helps.
Thank you for this helpful content and wishing you all the very best for your GC journey! If we are on L1 how soon as we kick start the EB1 C process initiation? Secondly, when this Process in on and seems like it take months together what if our Current L1 visa status comes to expiry and yet we have not received our GC
Typically they recommend waiting 6 months to a year before applying for the GC. I applied after 9 months. Depending on your priority date will determine how long it will take your GC to be approved. Ours should be about 10-12 months. Regarding the L1 expiry, your attorney should be ensuring that it does not expire during that period, and file for the extension.

Hello Sel, It is quite informative, really helpful. I do have a question: Could you please share about the L2 visa (L1A dependent ) and the work permit for L2 visa? How long does it take for L2 to get the job and start working? Thanks.!
They recently changed the rules so that L2 dependents who enter the country now will be able to work right away, as their I-94 will show their right to work. As we arrived before, we had to have Ant apply for his work permit which has taken 9 months so far. He does have the option to leave the country and re-enter to have the paper work he needs. I hope that helps.
I am on L1A and completed bio metrics about a month ago. Have not done medical yet.. when can I expect the next step? Have applied for the I 140 and 485 concurrently…
I believe your priority status is different depending on your nationality and where you file. Your attorney should be able to let you know. We were told 10-12months for the I-140 and 485.
Love your videos. Have been giving me hope 😊 and happy to share that my L1-A has been approved. Have a question on EB1C. Although being on L1A, does one need to be a manager for an year outside of US to be eligible for EB1C ?
If they approved your L1A on that basis, then as far as I understand, it is the same requirements for the EB1C. I would check this with your companies attorney to be sure. When I read the USCIS website it does not specifically say you need to be a management role for that year.
If you are project manager with direct reports (i.e a manager of Project Manager's) then yes. I would consult with an immigration attorney to check if the work you do fulfill the requirements.
@@ANTSEL Everyday associates and analyst say me what they did in last 24 hours ,what they will do in next 24 hours on some important bussness deals ,what things that have to get finished ,what are client and libravles on which we are working on ,what are the things in terms of timeline of process that were in ,and what are steps that are stopping us from the getting through those goals ..in these 30 minutes i give them plan of action what they will doing today .. I recruit /fire my juniors , can give promotion to them Will all these come under direct report .. ?
That may be enough to prove you are at the correct level. For me, I submitted my org chart and described what I was doing. The L1A needs to be sponsored by your work, so their immigration attorney will be best placed to let you know. Have you discussed this with your employer?
Your video timing could not be more perfect! Looking forward to next video
