    Wouldnt a brass fitting with a little copper pipe left that couldn't cut close enough be classed as number 2 brass not mixed brass or does mixed brass mean brass with othe metal in it such as steel copper aluminium?

    • @mikehasit73
      @mikehasit73  Рік тому

      It would go as mixed brass. If you bring number 2 copper pipe with brass mixed in the whole pile, it is usually downgraded. The brass is heavier than the copper pipe, so most of the recovery weight is brass value, not copper. Hope this makes sense. It is best to separate each metal the best you can. To get the highest value. Hope this helps

    Also i notice copper is more softer

      @mikehasit73  2 роки тому

      Yes it is. Some of the thicker copper is very hard and dense. Such as old old copper water lines. Very heavy

    Great video. I saw a comment of yours on another scrapping channel so I thought I'd check your channel out. Very informative video. I go scrapping on a bicycle. Yeah a bike lol. But I think you'd be v. surprised at the sheer quantities of copper cable I can accumulate. I always watch scrapping videos while stripping my wire. I just uploaded a video recently where I stripped some of the cable, 110lbs of bare bright.
    But yeah you got a good channel here. Hope to see more. Liked and subbed.

      Thanks for the support!!! Scrapping on a bike is good since you get your exercise and find some cash. I got some new videos I'm working on. Just been so crazy busy I can hardly keep up with filming

    I’d be interested in buying copper pipes, thick wiring and etc. I use it in farming and making things

    Are little pieces of clean copper connected to clean yellow brass acceptable since brass has copper in it?

    • @mikehasit73
      @mikehasit73  3 роки тому

      Yes copper can be attached. Will go as mixed brass typically. But ever yard is different

    Where do you get all your brass/copper? Are you dumpster diving? Are you a plumber? Do you ask people in a certain field for it?

      I pick up from several clients I have. Plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, and other places like estate clean outs. It's out there just ask everyone.
