What an amazing driving instructor! I sit my restricted next fortnight and this helped! Mirror, signal, head check. Although, I wish there was less traffic here in west AKL 😅
@@odie5732 Nah way! really lol!!! I've been practising in Rangiora though so I think that's a better option, if I fail it though I might go to Lichfield!
Mirror, indicate, brake is incorrect for the system of vehicle control, and DTO’s have had numerous discussions with instructors teaching this method. You are missing the side mirror check in this instruction. It should be: Centre mirror (before braking), indicating, braking, give way (if applicable), side mirror (on the side your turning), blind spot check (on the side that your turning), turn, then centre mirror as you drive away from the intersection.
Seems a very pedantic way of saying the same thing? The new mnemonic for the "System of car control" is IPSGA "I" being information gathering and giving. So looking and signalling as necessary. Not forgetting "brake lights" are also a signal. The DTO manual refers to Mirror singular but means the same thing. The purpose of the video is to give an indication of a test route in a NZ town with a professionally commentary of the drive. In no way does it purport to be a driving lesson :) Thanks for your input.
Default to 50kph. Or ask the DTO he should be able to tell you. If you are driving in a built up area it will be 50 kph. If not then you will get repeater signs every so often.
I can go for my restricted from october onwards and likely going to do it at rangiora as i believe its the closest testing place from where i am in amberley.
What happens if i attempt a parallel park and dont quite get 30cm from the foot path does that mean i fail the whole test? I can get them 95% of the time but i can imagine doing it under pressure may make me miss judge the parking
@@lilmissshorty66 Hi. The task “Reverse Park” is divided into 4 parts, each part scores a point. If you do the other parts ie observation, signal, park, and leave you will only lose one point. Part one where the parking exercise takes place has 17 points. So losing one is not a problem. So in short if you dont get that bit right you will still be OK. Hope that helps and good luck with test.
going for my restricted in thames on tuesday lets pray i pass is it nust 50 min drive and 10 questions what type of quetions do they ask what did u need to study
Thanks for viewing the video and kind comments. I am a retired testing officer. A former colleague does driving lessons in Rangiora area I can pass your details on if you wish? She has 100% pass rate.
In terms of the test No. But I always do as a safety measure, it also means I have my foot covering the accelerator ready to go when lights change. Saves the inevitable delay while you take foot from brake to accelerator. My argument is the hand brake makes the car safe if you are hit from behind while stationary. If this happens your foot would come off the brake as you shunted forward. So brake is safety.
Hi. Anywhere within stage 1 or first 10 mins, parallel park is preferred task, only 3 point turn in exceptional circumstances. Ie no suitable place to carry out reverse. Thanks for question.
@BetterdrivingNZ yes i did thank you i was waiting and waiting and then asked me to do the parallel and i aced it then i aced the whole test 100% and now im shocked haha 😂
As always drive to the conditions, so if school day open then drive with caution. If at start and end of school day then yes. Some zones are clearly marked with times and speed limits, some are not. Thanks for the question.
