Water baths work by insulating the sides of the cheesecake to prevent them from getting hotter than the inside, which ensures even baking, that silicone cake pan you used created a visible air gap between the water and the springform, which defeated the purpose of using a water bath in the first place. Foil may be inconvenient, but it allows the water to get right up next to the pan with only the thickness of the foil in between, that's why yours cracked.
I've used exactly this same method and pans on other cheesecakes and no cracking, I think I may have overbeat the batter. My cream cheese wasn't warm enough I think and I overbeat to get rid of lumps. I've actually seen recipes that have the water bath on a different rack in the oven (under ) and not touching the cake at all and it also works. I think it is the moisture not the contact from the water that does it.
This cheesecake is magnificent! So festive and I know it tastes wonderful. I like the idea of coloring the cheesecake to make nice layers depending on the holiday or celebration! xo

This needed to last in the refrigerator 2-3 days. The only way cream/cool whip would be good would be if it was consumed immediately. The cool whip or cream usually melts or deflates and turns runny by the next day.
I gave this recipe a try and I must say I enjoyed it very much thank you for sharing :) the water bath gave my cheese cake a creamy consistency which I loved the only hard part were my peeps I ended sticking toothpicks to the end and putting them on top end reult looked very nice :) thank you I love your recipes ♡♡♡♡♡
The cracking can also happen from over-whipping the cheesecake batter so try to do it until just combined. And don't use such a high speed on the mixer. Still such an adorable video, Tammy!
omg, this might sound wierd but i almost cryed when i say those chocolate eggs because i remember going to the store around easter time and getting those with my dad and grandma but my grandma died when i was six and now every time i see those i think of her
