    Would be interested to see the direct captures in AmpliTube using the same cab, to see how much of an impact is from the cab!

      @@TSFAHTPS So, are you using Amplitube and ToneX apps that come with the Tonex Pedal or did you buy the apps separately and use them only with other audio interfaces (in this case "Audient iD44 - i don't know what that is, must look it up)?
      It's all terribly confusing at times.

    I didn't hear you saying anything about the how to set input gain, before Tonex and Amplitube. IK Multimedia has big issues with the input gain for different models.
    It should be a +12dB boost for Tonex and more or less for Amplitube depending on the models. Just to make them sounding like the real amps for same amount of gain.

    They both sound incredible. Amplitudes Mesa Triple Crown is the best amp I have ever played or heard. Digital or Real.

    I wonder if changing the mic placement might be the key.

      That would absolutely make a huge difference!! I didn’t want to get into it in this video as it’s a long enough video as it is…but yeah changing mics and mic placement makes a huge difference

    It seems clear to me here that there is a major major difference in the stereo width of the two presets. Its not presence youre pickin up on, its forwardness, literal spatial direction. The amplitube was spread across multiple mics and in my studio it sounds left leaning in the stereo field. The tone X is smack dab mono and super focused.

    How come the Models (Amplitube) sound more like the real deal to me than the ToneX Models that are actual Captures of the actual Amps, right? But Amplitube sounds way more like the real Amps when i used to play them Live.

    The amplitube sounded awesome, but every time you switched to tonex it was just more convincing to me. It sounded closer ever time, but then again you had the reverb on the amplitube and not om tonex

    Interesting. I too spend endless hours comparing Tonex and AmpliTube and Tonex within AmpliTube. I spent a lot on 3rd party TONEX captures and although they sound good I may well sell them and the TONEX: AmpliTube sounds sufficiently good to me and is so mega-tweakable (and... tons of pre and post-effects, built in looper, 8 track recorder, easy midi control etc etc).

    My only wish for these collections is that IK Multimedia starts doing more DI captures. I love having the flexibility of swapping cabs and I find that I tend to get weird results if I do that with anything that's not a DI capture. I was chatting with someone at Amalgam and they said that after doing ToneX captures for a little over a year now, they're of the opinion that the DI captures sound more authentic. To my ear/taste, they do tend to sound slightly better.
    This collection sounds pretty great, regardless. I really like the "Luke Boogie" capture; sounds great with my Strat single coil neck pickup. I plan on getting a ToneX one for live performance as I think that's where the captures really shine; that's about as far as I'm willing to go for using digital live at the moment ;)

    • @fivefingerfullprice3403
      @fivefingerfullprice3403 8 місяців тому

      Do you mean like just the amp without the cab? Because a DI is a direct input, meaning your guitar without amplification at all. If you're talking just the capture of the amp I can say that every Mesa Boogie amp capture in the ToneX Mesa Boogie reference amp pack contains the amp with and without a cab so you can use your own IR.

    • @TSFAHTPS
      @TSFAHTPS  9 місяців тому +1

      To me it’s really more interesting what the software sounds like with the cab sounds that come with it…in the end if you use different IR loaders and apply EQ you can make all of them sound the same

    • @MelloState
      @MelloState 9 місяців тому +2

      @@TSFAHTPS it was more when you are comparing them and saying the kids sound different here and there when really a good way how to test the amp models is to use the same speaker/mic as they are a huge part of the tone. So something like a static ir or the built in cab sim in amplitube would do best in comparing the amps. Using 2 completely different signals chains essentially is obviously never going to get you close.

    Tonex has much more body, like a real amp. Amplitube sounds great but lacks that body in the lower mids and mids IME.

  • @tonyisonfire
    @tonyisonfire 6 місяців тому +1

    It has a different sound because you should turn off the mic/cabinet thing from amplitube. Tonex replicates the sound of the amp you ear. Amplitube has an extra step which is adding microphones and then record them and you hear what the recorded mic is. Different thing :/

    ToneX sounds more like a real amp and Amplitude sounds congested. I personally never liked Amplitude for that reason. It just sounds muddy and not enough clarity.
    I think the ToneX has is a better system.

    Os dois são ótimos timbres mas como você disse parece que estão numa frequência de médios diferentes e pra resolver isso , teria de colocar um equalizador parametrico pós amplificador, aumentar o ganho e a curva de medio ao máximo é fazer uma varredura no knob de médio pra encontrar a frequência.
