An Indian stuck in China who is a UK citizen, legally the UK must protect them as they're now a citizen of that nation. Nationality vs. Ethnicity - if you are an Indian national/ethnic and born in India then it's a potentially different story. But an Indian born, say in in Australia, and doesn't hold at least a PIO or OSI card, is therefore seen an Australian of Indian ethnicity / South Asian ethnicity and protected by Australia. I feel a bit confused? It also depends what passport you travel on doesn't it?
