"she doesnt care about being exploded" Well i think its safe to say that Seseri having those two falls and all that blood loss and still being alive in the sequel means these guys can survive some pretty tough shit.
Thanks for the annotations! I'm slowly working towards the clear for this one and your video is definitely going to help. High scoring aside, I'm mainly struggling with the very final attack of the final form. I'm close.. and I just got closer watching this. Very nice play as usual Jaimers!
I hope Espgaluda Part 1 gets the M2 Shot Triggers treatment someday. It would be called “Espgaluda Re: vitalization” where it would have a super easy mode and a new arranged mode as well as various options to mess around with (including the obvious gadgets that M2 is known for) and a new soundtrack made just for that version.
What did you think of the annotation process? It takes a while to put together but I think it makes the video more accessible to people who don't know the game well.
+Vierne This helped me out a lot as a beginner in shmups I often watch replays and sometimes cant analyze whats actually going on wish more people would do it.
Usually the "bl" refers to Black Label, which is a rerelease with different balance, scoring rules and other details! That said, from what I know. Espgaluda doesnt have a Black Label, while Espgaluda 2 does
Hey jaimers, I have a question. What emulator do you use for the Cave games? I have tried Shmupmame but for some reason i can only get Espgaluda 1 to work on it and it was because i found a very specific guide telling me to insert some files and rename others. Sorry if you have this answer in your Description, my phone doesn't let me view it fully.
Official builds of MAME no longer offer support for newer Cave games because Cave asked the MAME devs to remove it. If you intend to disrespect that there is an unofficial so-called 'slowpoke' build that can still emulate Cave games as recent as 2006 (I think), but it has problems (savestates break, for instance, so have fun practicing that ex-boss). I wish Cave would just port the Xbox 360 versions of these games to PC...
Mea K Thank you, i will look at this Slowpoke. The problem is exactly this: i dont have an xbox 360 because it costs too much in Brazil (it was 1000$ until xbox one, now it is about 800). And i dont even think Cave works in BR locale...
Yes you can, if you like your controller, please continue using it, Should I remember you that a USFIV EVO Champion was using an original PS1 PAD? (The one that doesnt even has Thumbsticks and smaller L2/R2). So yes! You can! Arcade sticks, keyboards or Dpads dont make you any better if you prefer the thumbstick
This very video in fact has a lot of annotations that explain the game and the run if you turn on captions. There is also a very detailed section on the game on the shmups wiki: shmups.wiki/library/Espgaluda
@@JaimersSTG Superb video. Sorry for my delayed reply. This really helps, but I'm still a little confused as to the bombs button. Is it continuously doing damage when holding, or only when you release? I'm trying to get into this in my local arcade. Do you ever stream on Twitch?
I've managed to get the 1CC. When you realise how many points you got here, and have done it yourself, it makes you appreciate just how good this run is, and the notes you've added. You've got mad skills, wp.
@mr2nut123 You've probably figured it out by now, but you only do damage by holding down the bomb button if your character is in direct contact with an enemy. Otherwise, you're just charging the bomb to do extra damage, though I'm not sure if there is a cap to how much extra damage you can do, even if you have more meter still remaining in "charge" mode. Cheers.
Espgaluda stage 1 theme is one of my all time favourites in shmup history
honestly, all of the music in this game is amazing. Another OST I like is darius gaiden.
@@chrisfrost7945 yes darius gaiden ost is amazing . It sounds so nostalgic

The queen (and the protagonists' mother) apparently managed to detach from the crystal and survive, according to Tateha's ending.
It's implied that the Seseri in the sequel is just an Android.
Seseri supposedly dies in her second battle in this game.
Thank you for your effort with the annotations. They help tremendously.
I know this video is ancient, but I have been working on getting this 1cc and this guide has been a huge help! Thanks Jaimers!!
did ya get it? 😏

Beautiful artistry in this game
The commentary/captions are awesome! Thanks!!
I’m playing For a 1cc rather than score but there’s so much here I can take on board.
Nice one!!
Amazing run! Thank you very much for uploading! Really great.
Your Gameplay is amazing
Thank you for this amazing vid. Truly helpful.
Thank you very much for the annotations Sir Jaimers, these will help me a lot getting my score up from measly 19mi.

Great video especially with the captions commentary. Still wish cave would bring this, its sequel and mushi futari to steam...

Awesome dudem Great job, i can now get to stage 4, and i hope one day end this game! Yeah!

23:58 Guess that life loss is important.

Holy shit did you just say that something was way too hard? This is unusual to me :V
Great video and help!
Lol'd at the end of stage 2 engrish :D
Cool! This game is speaking to me ;)
... Anyone know the difference between espgal & espgalbl ????

Why Comercial in this Video? Are you from Cave?
Bombs heal him?!? Hahahaha, LOL!!! xD
Espgaluda 2 when?

Mea K Actually, Mamedev added back the CAVE SH-3 driver and added Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu as well. But it's still as broken as ever, so have fun
What kind of controller do you use? I'm wondering if I'll ever get anywhere in any shmup using an xbox one controller thumbstick...
Yes you can, if you like your controller, please continue using it, Should I remember you that a USFIV EVO Champion was using an original PS1 PAD? (The one that doesnt even has Thumbsticks and smaller L2/R2).

覚醒のタイミングがまだまだだね🤣
Fun fact: this game was made after EspRaDe.
豆知識: このゲームはエスプレイドの後に作られました。
Switch Port please
Are there any instructional videos for this game? I've found it in my local arcade and it would be great to see some explain how to play it properly.
