Even in Gumball the fourth wall breakings are not always for only comedic effects. Like in "The Signal", when during the episode and especially at the end of it Gumball and Darwin seems to be pretty frightened to the fact that their reality is a television show. Or when in "The Disaster", Rob tells Gumball that the world in which they live is all fiction, and Gumball is in tears for everything that happened so far and says that he doesn't understand.
Holo-Jane's final line of "If you know where to look." Represents how all these background characters never leave. Holo-Jane has been here since episode one, and so has everyone else, (Minus the rabbit but that was for the joke of "I've always been here"). P.S. Teacher Ernesto with guitar = School of Rock. Edit: Blue Order, I hereby challenge you: Every time you see Holo-Jane in the episodes after these two, you gotta point her out.
Rex the Bunny has appeared in he background of episodes a few times prior, with his first appearance being in "You're everybody's sidekick", but I don't think that he's ever had a speaking role until this episode.
0:45 Time is an illusion that helps things make sense So we are always living in the present tense It seems unforgiving when a good thing ends But you and I will always be back then You and I will always be back then Singing will happen, happening, happened Will happen, happening, happened And we will happen again and again 'Cause you and I will always be back then You and I will always be back then
The first episode seems like "(Depersonalization/)Derealization Disorder" ("a feeling that one's surroundings are not real, especially as a symptom of mental disturbance.") Which is a serious issue for those who actually have it.
Let us remember that Carol can copy the powers of everyone, so maybe at one point she copied Holo Jane and became self aware. (Seriously, Carol is pretty fucking OP).
I don't think Holo Jane's thing is a power though, just self-awareness and ascension of sorts, even K.O was doing it once he knew the truth of the world. Late af but still
When I first watched this and hollow Jane said "hop into other dimensions" I thought we were going to have an ok ko crossover with steven universe amazing world of gumball or adventure Time I was wrong about one of them.
the ilusion episode was really good, this isn't like the kappa episode or the anti-gun episode, because the "the world is a simulation" thing is soo abstract that even simplifying details you don't loose a lot of complexity (of course you have to notice this first, it's not as straight as the kappa episode)
I agree. I love the fact that this show tackles world issues. But the problem is that some of these issues are extremely complex. So when the show portrays the issue in the usual disguised way they do, they lose a lot of the complexity. So people watching won't get the full picture. You're right, this episode was one of the few that _didn't_ lose that complexity. That definitely adds to how impactful it was (at least to me).
Watching "Your World is an Illusion" when I was younger really fucked me up. That moment when she pushes aside the title card? KO trying to deny the evidence in front of his face and later desperately running through the void looking at the storyboards? The final talk at the end? All of that has stuck with me for YEARS. Edit: I just noticed- the thumbnail for this video is the only one without any jokes in it. Just KO, not okay at all.
I definitely did like the teaching episode and the point it was trying to make (and, in fact, *did* make). but it should be noted that the teacher was ACTUALLY a villain at some point
I said one of the best episodes. Haha now at 1:49 you can see the main character wearing a red he- wait that's not a REAL red headband! No- NO NOOOOOOOOOOOO Also like they didn't say a callback to how nothing is real and they GOT FLEAS or whatever, would have been a great time to. "Can't you float?" No Blue, wrong magical boy protagonist
It's been a while since I first watched your reaction and I think I only just got the point of "Your world is an Illusion". OK K.O. has always had a broken fourth wall and operated under loony-toon rules far more than shows like Steven Universe and Adventure Time, but it also tries to have a continuous serious story like they do, and there are plenty of people who would insist those two types of storytelling don't mesh (which is probably why the Steven Universe/Uncle Grandpa crossover is so often disliked), and this episode is explaining why that's not true. Holo-Jane's speech at the end says it all: the story the show tells has weight to the characters in it because it is their reality, as long as we recognize the impact the story has on the characters and empathize with them, it shouldn't matter that the characters break the fourth wall, or break physics, or if damage is magically undone the next episode. As long as the story is real to them, and they feel real to us, we will care about the story and want to follow it through to the end. Okay, this ended up being way longer than I intended, hopefully this wasn't way off the mark.
Your World Is An Illusion is the scariest episode to me, I'm a very paranoid person and the first time I watched that episode freaked me the f.. Frick up 😔
For some reason I was really like shocked(?) By the first episode, that now I don't know what to say I'm sorry Blue, can't remark something funny today
Heyo, love your channel! You should try watching Voltron, it's really good, i used to love steven universe and SVTFOE, but this show i ended up liking more than those other two. Just a suggestion! :))
Yeah. I just had to practice a bunch for my driving test this week. It was already my second time taking it (cause I'm terrible at parallel parking), so I didn't want to donk it up again. Videos should be returning next week. :)
It's not that difficult really The main thing is parallel parking. (That depends if the DMV near you requires it or not) Parallel parking is usually the reason why someone wouldn't pass. I learned it mainly on youtube from a channel called DriveSmart. Here, I found the specific video I watched. ua-cam.com/video/s-mY5BIQDHI/v-deo.html It's also really important to get familiar with the car you're driving (in terms of dimensions, like how big it is). That'll help you get a good measurement of how far away the cones/curb are and stuff. It's also crucial for just driving the car in general. Good luck on your test (whenever you have it)! :)
"K.O. Literally Has An Existential Crisis Because He Becomes Meta" is my favorite episode
edit: whoa i didn't realize how many likes this got

There’s breaking the 4th wall...
And then there’s this
Thank you
0:45 Time is an illusion that helps things make sense
So we are always living in the present tense
It seems unforgiving when a good thing ends
But you and I will always be back then
You and I will always be back then
Singing will happen, happening, happened

And we will happen again and again
'Cause you and I will always be back then
You and I will always be back then
Are you trying to make people cry bro if you are it's working.
TO SOON
STOP NOOOO
i know its been 7 months so theres no point to my comment but i think we can all agree that this is one of those times where real men cried
6 years later this gonna put me into tear
Ok ko let’s break ko!
The first episode seems like "(Depersonalization/)Derealization Disorder"
("a feeling that one's surroundings are not real, especially as a symptom of mental disturbance.")
Which is a serious issue for those who actually have it.
Fun Fact: That yellow rabbit man is apparently an old OC of Ian/someone on the writing team that they added to the show.
Also, It’s so hard to choose who broke the forth wall harder, Gumball or ko.
I realized that when K.O is going on the backgrounds on a side is like a storyboard of the new plaza with the plane on the store
Late af but still
Man, Ian JQ knows what he’s doing when it comes to teaching lessons. Also, the show gets even more interesting from here 😉
So K.O. in a way also has new abilities in a way were he can jump dimensions and prevent himself from ever getting hit in combat.
When I first watched this and hollow Jane said "hop into other dimensions" I thought we were going to have an ok ko crossover with steven universe amazing world of gumball or adventure Time I was wrong about one of them.
I like how they stereotyped school teachers, and yet hit mine so perfectly.

Super Paper KO: KO's Existential Crisis
DLC PACK 1: Blue's Existential Crisis
0:48 KO: The Would Mean I'm Not Real. Blue Order: Yea You're Not.
I didn't even know there was new episodes of O.K. K.O. and you just informed me. I thank you.
Also but that episode of Halo Jane is extremely creepy.
This episode was like if you took all of the 4th wall breaks in Chowder and Gumball and combined them into one big party in the 17th wall.
Ok ko uses self awareness + existencial crises :
4th wall obliterated
at least we could cure that with the second ep (kinda)
Watching "Your World is an Illusion" when I was younger really fucked me up. That moment when she pushes aside the title card? KO trying to deny the evidence in front of his face and later desperately running through the void looking at the storyboards? The final talk at the end? All of that has stuck with me for YEARS.

5:57 she was singing the theme song
I said one of the best episodes. Haha now at 1:49 you can see the main character wearing a red he- wait that's not a REAL red headband! No- NO NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Also like they didn't say a callback to how nothing is real and they GOT FLEAS or whatever, would have been a great time to.
"Can't you float?" No Blue, wrong magical boy protagonist
I thought they were gonna introduce Thanos when Broc Kidd faded away
I don't know which breaking the 4th wall is more interesting. Ok Ko or Sid the science kid
I just suddenly realized how far behind I am in episodes yet how I know the future episodes and, what happens in them...
I am suddenly s a d
It's been a while since I first watched your reaction and I think I only just got the point of "Your world is an Illusion".

,,The world is an illusion'' Is this dark shit?
Yes.. yes it is
Oh. My favourite.
Nothing like a cool refreshing dose of Existential Depression.
Man, Seinfelds really gone down hill.
*sees fourth wall breaking*
.....just Monika, just Monika
Lol
Maybe this leads to the big crossover with SU
I think the yellow rabbit guy is one of IJQ'S OCs from high school.
Somewhere around 5:40
"We can touch everything"
Channels Dispicable me 1
"What about the air?"
_"Yes, you can touch the air"_
Also, I never noticed how dark this episode was until today
Your World Is An Illusion is the scariest episode to me, I'm a very paranoid person and the first time I watched that episode freaked me the f.. Frick up 😔
So apparently Bestovius also taught KO how to do the dimensional flipping
For some reason I was really like shocked(?) By the first episode, that now I don't know what to say
I'm sorry Blue, can't remark something funny today
I just realized this.....is that a monferno plush in the background.....?
P e r h a p s

You alright bro?

@@BlueOrder alright just one question how difficult is the driving test, just asking for future preference.
