Cheers Raf! Will probably finish up Children of Time (Tchaikovsky) this week. I watched the HBO show of The Plot Against America so I'll probably check out any video you make on it. Not sure how accurate the show was but I liked it.

I picked up 'In Ascension'. You recommend Cahokia Jazz and that turned out to be an epic read.

I understand what you're saying about BookTube not always having the deepest discussions. I do think that the lists and the wrap ups and whatever have a place and they don't need to go anywhere, but i agree that i'd love more deeper discussions. i have quite a few of yours saved as they're about books that i still want to read and so i would like to read the book myself first and then watch the discussion after. I'm certain there will be more people like me, so that could also be a factor in those videos not performing as well straight away (though i think it doesn't explain all of it)
I sometimes want to make more deeper spoilery discussions into books i'm reading and i am passionate about being able to learn things and derive meaning from literally any book out there. I also have a few ideas of those discussions that i could do, but my brain is often too dead after a week of being a uni student and also i don't know if i have very interesting things to say, so i guess the internalized inferiority complex is certainly a thing

The inferiority complex is unfortunately a big part and I'm aware that me being a dude makes it easier to just blurt out my opinions as I'm clearly used to mansplaining everything already. I agree that lists and hauls and all these other parts of booktube have their place and would never tell anyone not to do them. I just feel that I would not be a good fit for that content. Anyways, I would definitely watch your deeper discussions and hear you out on any topic as I know you have interesting things to say for sure!

Admittedly, I'm not much of a fan of Roth's work. The Plot Against America had an interesting diverging history, but I don't really like Roth's white guy angsty crap. I already deal with that in my life, I don't like reading about it. Lol. Well...I'm not Jewish though.
I hope Yiddish Policeman's Union is good. I'm hoping to pick that one at some point. Chabon is great.
