Color adds so much. I have seen Buster Keaton all my life. I remember my mom telling me who he was and that she watched his movies when she was young. But he was pretty old when I first saw him appearing on TV. It wasn’t until UA-cam that I saw his early performances. Wow. I am so impressed with him. I’ll bet America loved him in these silent movies.
I've said it before...This man did more running in movies than anyone else. Put that together with his fabulous stunts, and he was the most athletic person in movies/short features. And FUNNY!
I like New York City in 1920 in photos, which is about 100 years in the next few months. It's like being in Greenfield Village, but a lot bigger, and more historical buildings dating back in the 1850s. I like the vintage street lights with "Acorn shaped" covers that is hanging downward. Detroit has that feature too.
No, you're supposed to add the background music and we're just supposed to watch. I can't believe somebody COLORISED the silent film ( which was not part of its original presentation) and failed to add a musical score (which was). GET OUT!!!
@HUUUUUURRRR if I'm entitled to be a brat, then I have a right to act like one regardless of who tries to monitor my actions. Try getting a new theasaurus. Or get yourself a first one. But don't think you're getting away with anything. It's perfectly obvious why you don't want to musical track regardless if anyone else is opinion common desire, or even historical accuracy. Face it, we all know that you're holed up in the downstairs closet in your underwear smoking meth and you don't want your parents disrespect anyting do the unpredictable vagaries of a musical score in a silent film. Keep it up. Your queen of the closet. Eventually you'll find out there's a big pile of wet cat s*** in the back corner under your thigh... Hey! You spilt the dope!
I'd marry him if he had nothing, such is his endearing character, otherworld ethos and princely looks, he has all the riches in the world with his very being.
Great! Time machine 100years back! Though i´m a bit sceptical against those non-authentic colorisations and digital remastering it nevertheless looks awesome!
Noob question...1:12 how did they shoot this scene? Did they literally bring that big camera inside the moving car? Without any shaking to camera tho. Or the they use screen that show moving roads like in modern days methods?
I think the cameraman can sit in the front seat and film, and notice the road they are driving on have some fine pavement thus allowing for minimum shaking.
So you believe that Keaton was making an '''oft handed'' social commentary on his friend's [ Fatty ] wrongful inprisonment? Interesting primise, I'm a big Buster buff, never read or heard that said about''Cops''.. Would add a huge dose of sentimentality, to the tragic irony of Arbuckle's real life, imitating the subject matter of one of his own shorts. [Arbuckle played a murderer in a dream sequence: source ''Hollywood'' part 8] Although Keaton never played his stone face character for sentiment, unlike Chaplin's ''little tramp,'' who was a personification of sentiment. Both Chaplin and Keaton publically vouched for Arbuckle's personal character and morals. Interesting take on ''Cops'' and nice work L & H.
Charlie's works meant more than just comedy. If you observed them well you wouldn't have made this comparison between the two giants. Buster was one thing and Charlie was another.

How different everything looks in color, bringing everyone and everything alive making them look so young.

That scene with the ladder on the fence, that one is a classic example of Keaton's creativity.
I love when old movies like this are in color. It makes the reality look so real like it happened yesterday. Black and white makes it feel distant
I love these old videos, they are pure gold.
I am at the good side of the UA-cam. Look how technology preserved these gems. Damn those had to be golden days
Buster for me was THE BEST Comedian of his era and beyond. Rest in Peace . See you soon
They added colours but forgot the music so I watched this listening to some rags
😇
This is what a 5 star wanted level looks like.

Oh! A GENIUS.
I can't believe I'm laughing at a 1922 movie.
This is awesome!
Charley Chaplain's got nothing on buster Keaton. All his work in great. Hands down, my favorite person/director/physical comedian from the 1920's.
Still as clever and funny after 98 years 😃
Its really cool and weird to See this people after 100yrs. With their clothes and all the vehicle the Streets and buildings.
Greeting from germany
The rich guy from the opening scene also played the sheriff in one of Buster's films.
It must have been a strange time, when horses and cars had equal rein on the street.
I hope the misspell was intended
Great pun!
First few seconds
Me: volume button is not working
I guess you should add music too
I recommend as background music: ua-cam.com/video/gTevoUhDeoM/v-deo.html :)

@@gemista you got to admit that the imagery was pretty good
The first car Phone, These guys were ahead of there time...lol
It's hard to picture that ALL these people are dead. It'll be us in 100 years' time.
Geez dude, just enjoy the movie. Don’t let death consume your mind
The majority must still be alive. In thier fifties or sixties. Or even thier seventies.
@@audioartistic wtf the majority of the actors are in their middle age in 1922. Do the maths dummy

good Color thanks
Me Mr Buster Keaton s Bigfan from India Tamilnadu
The Parade scene. Life must have been boring in the 1920s for that to be entertainment.
I'd marry him if he had nothing, such is his endearing character, otherworld ethos and princely looks, he has all the riches in the world with his very being.
2:21 -an antiques dealers dream 💕
beautiful love buster keaton brazil thank you
A cor dá sensação de realidade. Amei esse filme!
Thanks for that video
"i guess he was arrested for speeding" lmao
Without the background music it's difficult to watch. No one saw these in silence
Patented Keaton gymnastics with a ladder gag at 15:40 .
Great! Time machine 100years back! Though i´m a bit sceptical against those non-authentic colorisations and digital remastering it nevertheless looks awesome!
Agreed, should be interesting to see what that residential neighborhood at 1:40 looks like today nearly 100 years later.
The God Father of physical comedy. RIP.
Fantastic!!!...
Its remarkable how this is funnier than most of todays nonsense. This is pure gold, even if its 100 years old
Todo un clasico, afortunadamente tengo la colección completa, lo maximo!
Albano Astolfo Rodriguez Ocando compártela.
Very good.
Genius!!!
17:01 Now I see the inspiration for the ending scenes in The Blues Brothers.
Мардисарватманд
Hey, everybody has to fart sometime
maybe if you add some old music is perfect for this like RAG piano or rag songs in 1920's
get some cop to protect our policemen .
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA
Guess I will wait for the dubbed version to be released ;-)
Que show! O melhor!!
I like the colorized version. Needs a musical accompaniment played on a Mighty WurliTzer.
great comedy doesn't need sound :-)))
Just imagine.... Everyone in this video is gone.
Bravo!!! So goooood!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏
(Not sure y it says Laurel and Hardy tho)
..."Как будем смотреть?" - "Молча!"
Now that I see these chase scenes I know where BENNY HILL got some of his inspiration from,i really miss you Benny!

The colorozation bot does almost a good work, a few time it can't recognize it properly and does change color.

I didn't see L and H in this film....????
The same actress I believe starred in 'Seven Chances' and 'The Blacksmith.'
Once talkies started, the masters were Laurel and Hardy
The horse lol😂😂😂😂
watching at 0.5 speed makes it perfect
75% seems to be a correct speed.
how Can they do this?
@@pschelp3605 Click Settings (the gear symbol) then Playback Speed, then .75 - should do the trick! :)
Esse cara é um gênio da época
when first role actor was also stunt actor
I miss you mister
Seems like huge production.
Que buen comediante , Bravo!!
The picture should be stabilized: it's all shaky.
it feels weird without music
Tinha mais polícias nesse filme do que em todo o Brasil!
Buster "stone face" Keaton. The original deadpan comic.
play speed option → 0.5 ok

Este ator é mesmo um comédia faz a gente rir o vídeo inteiro
Where is the music? Truly silent.
There is an optional boxing glove attached to the horse and buggy as well as horseless carriage, including early Ford Model T to punch the officer.
Por favor me diga é possível esses filmes antigos serem legendados ou dublados, vou ficar esperando a resposta. Obrigado pela atenção.
Maybe is not the best result, but much better than black and white, don't you think so? Or if someone else can make it look better, please do it.
Buster was so handsome🥺🥰
Why is there no sound?
Gênio incontestável
People who really lived, lived back then.
4:49 how UPS treats your package
These films were produced before the World War This means that the British are living in luxury and no crises in food or unemployment
You mean the Great War. It started in 1914 - 1918.
After charlie chaplin he was one of the best actor in silent era
