Finally someone mentions it, the goal celebration is completely awkward. I like to see the scoring player celebrate after a goal, but the switch to this close up celebration is just not good at all, and it happens straight away after 2 seconds. I thought it was some kind of bug and searched inside the settings if there's something wrong.
The one issue with sports games that I think we often overlook is that they have to turn around new game in ~9 months. I wonder if they take the PGA Tour route and put out an "NHL" game every couple years with updated rosters every season while they work on a newer game in the background?
Bro, this isn't some mom & pop company......this is literally a billion dollar company....they have the ability to double or triple the size of people who work on the NHL series along with others. They don't care fam...EA has made over 2 billion in 2 years.....they didn't get that money and say hey let's make a sports specific engine to turn our games up a notch. You know what they did after making a billion dollars every year? They threw a engine on the game that Is nearly 20 years old & yes 20 because the frost bite system was released in 2008 on a game that's supposed to be next gen....they don't care bro
Be better off going back to the Ignite engine. It was more suited for sports which is why I still play NHL 21 the last on Ignite and Madden 17 the last on Ignite for that series too
I want to ask anyone reading this comment a genuine question. Be a pro hasn’t been touched in 4 years right? Along with a lot of things in these games don’t work malfunctioning hel you even got people saying they aren’t getting there hut packs and bonuses and I don’t even play hut but whatever the case is my question at what point do the practices EA exerts become fraud? Because for the most part they literally sold off line players the exact same game 4 times. And the additions that they claim they work so hard for every year never work correctly if at all at launch so I’m just curious if someone can answer this for me because I haven’t bought a NHL game since 23 I shouldn’t have to skip 3-5 years to see a difference in a game that’s literally supposed to be updated yearly.
I just bought it for 30 bucks from the ps store holiday sale. I hope its worth it. Had over 200 hours in nhl 22 and loved it. I mostly play franchise mode
The game is fine ‘ but definitely not worth full price especially when it’s only for next gen consoles, it’s a little more easier to swallow if you get two versions of the game! Wait till Black Friday it should be on sale
#1 thing rn is match making is terrible. You want people to play your game ? Let them match up against each other. It’s really basic and unbearable. Games getting better but match making is getting worse. Please fix for my $90
would you recommend this game to someone that has not played a hockey game? I'm trying to get into the NHL and I find it easier to understand the nature of the sport and recognize players by playing the games.
I will still say that the biggest issue I have with the NHL games is the fact that they change the most minor of things, almost like putting a band-aid on a small paper cut when there is a huge wound next to it. But they probably just push out a new game because HUT/MUT/FUT all make bank for them, so change something minor or add something that should have been there from the beginning and call it a day. Why focus on BAP a mode that people play maybe once or twice before putting it down? Why fix the performance issues in the menus? Why improve EASHL and WoC? It doesn't make them the bulk of their money. Frostbite was never a sports engine, it was designed for simulating destruction physics for FPS games and has been known to bring even the most powerful of PC's to their knees (probably due to bad optimization). They need a completely retooled engine, or at least an engine that works well for what they want. Heaven forbid EA knows they can afford to license Unreal. Also those cutaway to goal celebrations just break the immersion.
What pisses me off about the commentary is that with AI it’s so fucking easy to fix. Get the rights to use all regional/national broadcasts, throw every clip into a computer and have AI generate the rest. Like it doesn’t seem big but I genuinely believe the little things like hearing Butch Goring talking about the toy department when you score a goal going top shelf would bring back so many people.
Now my question is I’m a simple guy. I got NHL 24 on sale and had more fun than any sports game currently. I booted up be a pro threw my headphones on and the commentary hyped me, and I had a blast. So my question is if the on ice gameplay was improved with the one timers and skating, I’d still love it correct? I’ll scoop when it goes on sale
Just had wish they had the the goal horn like do in the nhl that would been an improvement when the come on the ice they knock pucks on the ice new pond hockey where u build a player different and you take intviews they talk and different saying would help alot even had to unlock them threw the game but not a bad game if your a real hockey fan
2k nhl and ea nhl games used to be good i wish some body else would do them like sombody that wants to make a great product and not rush it and its more geared to franchise mode. Then ultimate team and my team
I honestly think that EA in general should just release a new hame every 2-3 years and not every single year. I feel that EAs problems would just be fixed if they were more interactive with their good side of their community. (The toxic side is reasonable to not like of course)

If you score just hold down a face button or a bumper for the old style celebrations
who gives a shit, doesn't effect the game at all
Thank you for saying that people donnt realize you can do that lol i realized it quick asf@leer-jd5on
Ain't really any of the EA sports franchise games that aren't struggling from these same issues - ridiculous that they're maintaining the monopoly.
Other developers don't want to make sports games. They're not very profitable, microtranactions are the only thing keeping sports games alive.
@@commonsenseability that’s untrue.
@tomkmb4120 then why haven't there been many over the decades?
@@commonsenseability many what?
@tomkmb4120 sports games it's what we're talking about.
Desperately need a new engine at this point for all EA Sports titles.
Facts
This is the worst NHL game ever. Of all the games I have bought from EASPORTS this is by far the worst
I just got it on Black Friday sale n I’m disappointed in the graphics for it being ps5 players body on the ice look like action figures
@@serotoninlight7269right. 24 looks better .. not even cloth physics in 2025

NHL 14 has better overall presentation over this game. It's not even close.

I just got it last night on sale n I’m pretty sad should have just stayed with 24
I got it for $44 for Black Friday sale today so at that price I say it’s worth it
It’s $27 now
Is it worth it ?

Game is worth 15$ on sale lmao it’s the same game with some better AI so animations same graphics Sam engine
@@BurkJ69I want to know as well
Game is trash seems lethargic
very glitchy
nhl 2k10 is still more fun than a game made 15 years later

Unreal already on EAWRC so maybe you are right.

On sale for $35 now I snagged it and its okay, the hate is 100% warratned but it isn't any worse than 24
it's on sale.. though it isn't a brand new game. beware. and yes, 24 is so much fun.

I’m curious what frame rate you captured your gameplay at? It looks quite choppy in your review unfortunately.
Is it worth upgrading to nhl 25 if u are on nhl 22?
goalies are still broken, the ai seem lazy at times or dumb, just watching pucks 2 feet in front of them. too easy to get pumped off the puck
The Skating is
H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E.
True Momentum Skating from NHL 13-14 - Legacy is Superior.

Nhl2k10 please
I’ll give it a go cuz it’s on game pass
Xbox has a deal on it rn for 27 bucks should i get it lol
Drifnitely go for deluxe if HUT is your thing. It's $40 and you get $40 worth of pucks to spend
