I think this movie is one of the best movies ever made. If you watch it it has such an arch for basically every character and it does it in a very fluid way. Also the story has soooooo many locations makes it more realistic
Actually, it's made pretty clear in the deleted scenes that she DID, in fact, love Johnny. Maybe not with the same intensity as he did her, but she loved him. She just chose her career (HER passion) before anything. Zander Barcalaw so happened to coincide with her ambition, and even he wasn't the catalyst for Carmen breaking up with Johnny because her career came before him, too (they almost shared a kiss before she noticed the gravity...thing). She was the "crazy" pilot, and the "wrong girl" didn't die just because her first priority wasn't the hero.
feather Like the heart”, that is: in its fluctuation and change, “like a feather tossed around by the wind” like a feather in its weight and lightness with the speed of its response to any “a windy” land: Because the winds in it are more running and faster in impact, that the heart is at its speed of fluctuation. But he was a lot of fluctuating, because his home is inspiration and whispering, they always knock him and indoctrinate him, and the heart is confused between passion and guidance, it is always between two contradictory and warring, and all members are captivated and confounded
Oh boy, let us cry and rise up again from the ashes of our burnout hearts so we can continue life with a renewed purpose until we find again someone to burn for..
Haha 😂 good insight, I never thought about dizzy dying as cutting Rico’s humanity off but that makes a lot of sense. Can’t say I ever liked Carmen 🤢🤮 but yeah I wonder if dizzy didn’t die would Rico have changed so much? There’s definitely a lot of layers to starship troopers to say the least. And maybe Rico was hanging onto his passion for Carmen because it gave him direction and that’s what he really wanted, maybe he didn’t even really like Carmen at all. She made it easy for him in a way and made the decisions for him, and maybe that’s similar to when we have a crush. Sometimes it’s easier to be guided by the hand than make our own decisions because with freedom comes the responsibility of choice.
I think that has a lot of merit 🤔 Following Carmen, Johnny didn’t have to think about anything. When he told his dad he wanted to get out on his own, I don’t think he was ready at all to do that. So sticking with Carmen let him off the hook from making decisions of his own. Makes sense. I like that way of looking at it. I wasn’t too sure if you would’ve seen starship troopers. As you know, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s either loved or mocked lol.
@@EverydayTape starship troopers is one of the best movies ever lol of course I’ve seen it! I want to read the book. I was reading a bunch of science fiction when I was on night shift at the hospital but now I don’t have as much time. Ok I always remembered Neil Patrick Harris coming out in a nazi arm band at the end but maybe I imagined as a kid because I watched it a bit ago and he didn’t have it 🤷🏻♀️ or did they delete it? I mean Johnny basically goes from Carmen to military so it’s almost like he was always driven by his base instincts and never got to fully develop and maybe that’s part of the satire of being in an authoritarian state. My favorite part was always when Johnny got the guy killed in the training exercise dunno why I guess I’m just weird, but it always stuck with me.
It’s a tour de force of cinema lol I’ve heard the book is quite different and that the director kind of did his own thing. I mean, from the guy that also brought us total recall and robocop, I don’t have a problem with that 👍 Memory is a tricky thing. Notoriously unreliable lol. But I know what you mean. I’ve had memories turn out not to be quite what actually happened, too lol. Although, I don’t remember seeing an arm band. Unless of course, this is like one of those Mandela effect things lol then we’re in trouble! Johnny did kinda move along instinctually, which for the longest time has been a gripe of mine. Whenever I watch it, I want to see Johnny being more introspective and having doubts at more points than he does. Missed opportunity maybe. That training scene though…ouch. That’s a tough moment. That’s a hard mistake to come back from.
@@EverydayTape yeah it’s like Johnny never had to think on his own, I mean there’s videos of people from North Korea saying they didn’t know what to do when they escaped like it was harder to be free almost. I don’t think we see how hard our choices are to make, and we downplay the struggle we with have with it because society says well he/she should obviously do this or that but it’s never actually clear. That’s why starship troopers is really great it’s able to layer to make a very effective satire.
Sometimes there isn’t a clear answer. I get you there. Do what is expected, or do what is more risky, or against the grain? I hope it all doesn’t just come down to blind luck either lol
This reminds me of Taylor Swift's music video "You belong with Me". Except, in that video, "Johnny" chose the girl who truly loved him and reminded him of "home" (they were practically neighbors)😄. Anyway, keep making videos like this, Adam. I can't speak for all your subscribers; but I certainly learned something today🙂👍.
Thanks, Yatniel! I didn’t think it would remind anyone of a Taylor Song but I’m pleased it found a connection. I haven’t seen that video of hers but you’ve got me curious about it. I’ll check it out!
If you are a man, try to find a woman that you love a little less than she loves you. This way it can work. If its the other way around she'll dump or cheat on you. Its hard but its true.
You REALLY love yourself

Hilarious/true video here I liked Dizzy way more than Carmen.
You're right this is a good song. I never paid attention to it when watching this movie. I think it works for the scene.
Awesome! Yeah, the more times I watched the scene and listened to the song, the more I liked it.
@@EverydayTape They're a good band. Been listening to some of their other stuff on Padora. She has a beautiful voice. Thanks for getting me into them!
Right on 👍 I wish they would’ve made more but they really made an impression with they put out.
Well this video hit deep, I subbed after cutting edge video but this one got me, great editing also!

I disagree. Obviously lol. Cheers.
You are my favourite youtuber
You deserves a lot 😉
Thanks! Don’t set the bar too high though…I have a tendency of falling short lol.
Damn good editing

Liked and subscribed! Great job Brohammer.
Thanks!
I hate carmen lol, Diz is the best 😊

The same way women should find men who love them a little more than they do? Don't you think? 🤔 I mean, it's only fair. 😏😆
