Safiery STAR-switch - controlling rear spots, side lights and airbags from bluetooth in vehicle

Last week we walked through this job with the new STAR-light and STAR-switch digital switching. Earlier today we demonstrated the STAR-switch battery operated bluetooth module 40m away to control a 3 colour LED with one button. Our target battery life is 5 years in theory but we will advocate 2-3 years in practice. The chipset is brand-new from Nordic Semiconductor; it’s the lowest power consuming chipset and comes from Europe. In this video we show how the driver can control the rear spots on the Kruiser and side lights from the drivers seat in the Disco. The bluetooth range is up to 40m in practice. (It’s 100m with unimpeded line of sight.) Watch the video to see the action. This is no ordinary bluetooth. This is the new high power wireless standard technically named 802.15.4. It’s set by the Connectivity Standards Alliance supported by Apple, google, Amazon and Samsung collectively. These titans of the smartphone industry were able to get a new standard at more than double the power of the previous bluetooth and get government approval. Safiery has joined this group and has access to the compliant protocols. Today we demonstrate the new bluetooth.
