- Serbia is filled with many beautiful, entertaining festivals throughout the year. My friends recently told me about the Cvarak Fest in the little Zrenjanin neighborhood of Muzlja, Serbia. We ate wild boar goulash, pogaca, cvarci , drank lots of rakija and pivo. What an amazing time!

In Vojvodina they make very greasy cvarci. In Sumadija we make it crispy like chips, or "tobacco cvarci" duvan cvarci, you must try these

Pogacha (погача) and pogachiza (погачица) are not the same thing. The former is a round-shaped sort of bread, the latter is a pastry (delicious if with chvarzi).

Charles, we have that langos here in the south Serbia too, but we call it Mećik or Mećici. And yeah, its literally just deep fried dough.
Where in south Serbia, we call it “mekike” in the rest of Serbia, never heard anyone calling it “mećik, mećici” must be local dialect?
