I would only consider a case being SFF if its under 20 liters and the Evolv X is 34 liters (extremely large)... Now this case ranges from 13.5 L (when small) to 17.5 L (large) which is great!!! This case is really nice!!
Thanks for yet another SFF choice. I am in need of something to replace my H1 and you are just throwing new options at me every week! Amazing video as always, and you guys even did a great job fixing the audio problem. When you slid up the front I/O that was 🔥 🔥
@18:56 I AM LISTENING TO IT!! :D Looks awesome, honestly been waiting a while to potentially make the move, as soon as I can part ways with all the extra storage I have. Amazing in-depth video. If I could tomorrow I would probably switch this is very stylish
That looks amazing and the engineering that went into it. Price is conpetitive for the features. Reminds me of the fhost and tophats but here you arent paying a crap ton more
When I saw photos of this case before, I thought that it would be a little bigger than the NR200/P. I was wrong haha. This case is cool. Looking forward to your future videos on this case with an air cooler :D
Yeah but still the NR200P is good as well. Especially if you use a RTX 3000 Founders Card, which are the only affordable ones IF you can get one. And the NR200P can run almost any Aircooler as well.
I still love my Evolv X and this seriously borrows it's design cues while being quite unique. The only thing that seemed a little bit questionable to me is having to slide up the bottom panel to get access to the USB port, as I feel like it would then just always be raised. On the Evolv X it is instead a door, which on my machine at least is always open. Still, the premium anodized look is so good looking in person and seriously stylish!
Great video! I really appreciate your case reviews as you give a very thorough overview of how the case works and parts compatibility. Keep up the great work!
I've been looking at different cases for the wife. I'm glad that I'm just looking atm, because seeing nice sff or itx cases being released that have patterns and are a bit showy is right in her wheelhouse.
would like to see that mesh refined to make it a bit less restrictive, otherwise it's a super interesting concept (although in practice do people need a case that they can change the layout of on the fly?)
Awesome video review Nick / Klaire / Bindi 🐈. Loving this case, it’s aesthetic, colour, dimensions, Infinity Mirror. I agree Nick that the rear plastic height extender should be vented for better airflow or maybe … casing for single/twin 40mm fan outlets 🤔? I’m adding this to my list of new cases with the Torrent Nano RGB already pre-ordered 🥰😍🤩🥳.
I like the RGB and the expandable height. But the thermals though... I guess SSUPD Meshlicious is still better. Perfect combination of function and form.
I got a RTX 4080 16GB VENTUS 3X OC to fix in the case. The key is to get the back inside the case first then push the rest of the card inside. Its a tight fit but 324mm is true for this case.
Precisely I'm thinking to build mini Beast and I'm doubts between Phanteks Evolv Shift XT and Lian Li Dan A4 H20. But would be Interesting if you pushed Phanteks case to its limits with SFF-L 1KW PSU, R9 7950x/I9 13900k CPU, RTX4090/RX 7900XTX GPU and then run the tests. Many thanks
Was it difficult at all installing the EPS cable once the motherboard is in? How was the EPS cable routed? Beautiful case, looking forward to building a rig with it. Thanks for the great video as always!
it's crazy how every reviewer just glossed over how it fits 2x140mm fans but no one tested if it fits a 280mm radiator. The cooling lines won't fit without some cutting but what about the Rad+Fan with the cover on top?
Yeah boy, Flava fla uuuh Phanteks in the house. Been waiting for this build. Love My Phanteks EVOLV X, but maybe it's time for a second build with this awesome case. One PC for music production and one for ehm you know.
Oh Phanteks...how I adore you. This case would have been PERFECT for an upcoming ITX build, but the lack of 3.5-inch drive support has me going for the new Fractal Design Torrent Nano.....which is a shame because I really, REALLY love this one.
@@swizzler8053 suits me perfectly. I like the style/look of the case. Feels and looks very high quality finish compared to some cheaper cases in a similar style. Heat wise it’s fine for me as I have a 5700XT reference card which is a toasty beast even with plenty airflow lol. Just wish they’d thought to make it maybe 1cm taller to accommodate their own Glacier 240T30 AIO with the thicker rads and fans. So I stuck with a 240 EK AIO. But otherwise the build was super easy and temps are reasonable and not too much worse or better than my previous sandwich style case.
This case looks alright but it was either this case or the Lian Li x Dan A4-H20 for my next build, but I think the A4-H20 is are winner at least for me anyways.
I have a Evolv Shift 2. Its nearly the same board layout. The biggest issue Im having with these sandwich designs, heat. I know sounds odd, but since the a lot of mini-itx boards come with a M.2 on the back of the MB, the GPU is only a few mm away. When the GPU is under load, the MB and M.2 heat up substantially. There is no room to install a heatsink on the M.2. I had to buy a very small fan to blow between the section. I wish there was some more room between the GPU and MB.
Really liking phantek cases I have the eclipse and I love it. Just did a upgrade and very little dust. Haven't cleaned it put in a while either. The only thing I'd like is I took out the old fans and the rack where the screws go is not as strong as I would like it.
Amazing case ... props to Phanteks. Question though ... Nick specifically says the top mounting bracket does not support 140mm/280mm fans/rads, but I see the necessary screw holes for larger fans there. Am I missing something?
@@GearSeekers Thanks for the reply. I guess my wording was bad; I specifically meant that it you said it doesn't support 280mm rads and fans. I'm puzzled because there's holes for 280mm fans there, just seems a given that a 280mm rad could fit also. Must be a clearance issue at the top.
I am a little disappointed at a few missed chances with this cool design: Firstly it would have been great to be able to also add a radiator at the bottom, so you can build an overkill custom loop in this. Secondly, why not make the upper compartment fit a 280 rad? With a 280 you could maybe cool both graphics card and cpu in a custom loop. Or just an AIO that can cool a 12900k.
I was super exited for H2o but it turned out to be a bit of a failure. Shift XT looks gorgeous, heavy cyberpunk vibes but i with it had ssd support of HR200 Max
Hi Nick! Thank You for great Review of this case. Do You think it will fit Arctic Liquid Freezer II? Radiator, as You said will probabbly fit but im not sure about CPU Pump due to hoses mounted on top not on the side of the block. What do You think?
I just think the NR200 and Meshlicious are hard to beat. The meshlicious has a smaller footprint and better cooling than this case. The NR200 has better cooling, no need for a riser, and is a fraction of the price. If this had top tier performance, that would be great. But it doesn't.
I'd actually consider this, but then, 324 as max 😒 Mine is 330. Come on! I wonder what the GPU temps would be if you took off the filter on the GPU side of the case.
@@GearSeekers You are the best man! Thank you for doing this video, you are my go to when it comes to these reviews, I definitely will be getting this case, its just a matter of which radiator and if I can get away with the T30 Radiator!
I saw their post on reddit, it seems like maybe the filters buy the bit of extra space. I figure if both the thicker radiator and fans dont work it would be better to try the thicker radiator with a couple of 25 mm Noctua/Lian Li fans. Thoughts?
He really just said "more than enough juice for a case this size." Sorry bro, case size doesnt have anything to do with how much juice you need from a power supply. Wtf

This is a fail for me the size is already deceivin just a marketing stunt. Youll need brackets just to add a aio. Phanteks just riding the hype of sff cases, youll get better price to performance with the nr200 max. Its also almost the same size with the nr200 max.
Finally itx is becoming more mainstream.
I freaking love Phanteks quality. This is like a mini Evolv X.
A+ Phanteks.

I fell in love with this case from day one when I saw it at CES. In the past two weeks I've checked daily for a review to show up. Thanks!
it is up for preorder as well, just ordered mine!
This channel never fails with the dope tunes that go with the build montage.
love that the big brands investing in ITX segment more and more. Great review! Thanks a lot Nick!

Really cool ideas on the case and it has peaked my interest. I’ll probably stick to my Nr200 with NH-U12A combo pending your air cooled review
Another great video. One of the manufacturers need to make one with a longer version to allow a 360mm radiator with a res/pump combo
Jonsbo A4, have built in one and they are big, I think too big for an ITX build imho
Sweet, now this is a much better video about a case build from you, thank you.
