Excellent update Thom! I’ve been waiting on your take on this climbing season. Please keep these updates coming. You’re experienced and who better than you to give incite on this season. Thanks Thom❤ Thanks to Angela as well!!! (Keep up informed on NW Annapurna route. Exciting stuff!)
As an ER/ICU/Trauma Nurse, I can clarify and prophesy that this woman will die if she attempts 14 - 8000 peaks in 6 months. Do you people know what putting the body through high altitudes, does to your blood? The Bone Marrow is what produces your red & white blood cells. At chronic high altitude your bone marrow will suddenly over produce red blood cells that are WAY too immature to carry Oxygen that feeds Oxygen to vital tissues; *Because the decreased Oxygen level will tell the Brain to tell the Bone Marrow to produce more Blood Cells because there isn't enough O2 to sustain the vital organs. Thus.....you will get Polycythemia and others types of Anemias. And....because you have too many blood cells in your blood vessels, as they over load the Liver to be filtered (they are excreted in our urine and feces), the Liver can & will fail from over loading the Liver. AND in addition to all these horrible diseases, you WILL get massive systemic blood clotting called DIC = Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation, as there are so many blood cells, they WILL aggregate, sticking together, causing blood clotting that WILL go to the Brain, Lungs, Heart, and other vital organs. And these above stated problems, are deadly!!!! You will NOT survive! Even if you are successful from each climb, it will all catch up to you by the 5-6 climb The climber WILL die from HACE or HAPE, secondary to massive systemic blood clotting (DIC), Pulmonary Emboli, Stroke, and sudden Cardiac Failure due to massive Cardiac Ischemia, Cardiomyopathies, etc. A fool that has an ego THAT big, and seeks attention THAT BADLY, needs psychiatric help more then climbing mountains to get accolades. How immature that is. Ugh! The uneducated.....ugh! And the psychotic....ugh!😒🙄🤔😲
Absolutely, what is happening now is that the commercial outfits are super eager to open this mountain up a little more....and unfortunately it will keep on getting busier there. Yes, on the new mountain idea! Thank you for watching
Just a thought on a bit of a skewed mindset. For the rest of the world looking from a far these mountains look pristine and beautiful. The rubbish problems seems to only affect the people on the mountains. You break it you fix it , motto seem to wash over the mountaineering community. Am I being too harsh?
@@EverestMystery Thom, I thank you so much for bringing these video feeds so well. I like your laid back and knowledgeable perspective on high altitude climbing. And the Sherpas are still getting killed for the braggarts to post a summit pic. Disgusting. Real mountaineers wouldn't risk other peoples lives...even those Sherpas who are obviously less than us!!!
Angela sheds some light on this topic in the interview, which I feel is worth consideration....I'd say there are some who truly exploit them, many who wouldn't ever think of it. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
@@EverestMystery thank you sir for your reply. It just irks me when the supposed “Mountain lovers” are the only people responsible for turning Everest and now K2 into stinking rubbish dumps. Why can’t they be content with trekking the area? I’ve been saying for years that all expeditions should only receive a climbing permit if they bring more weight in rubbish down than they went into base camp with. And a summit claim should only be validated if this is done. Everyone I have shown those sickening pictures of queues on Everest to have reacted in a similar nature. All responses are negative. Maybe a land developer could build a hotel at base camp and a Walmart at the South Col!! It’s a tricky one though mate isn’t it.
@@EverestMystery but since I am not a right wing narcissistic clown I tend to question my views. Am I right? Or is the cleanliness of these beautiful places secondary to Sherpas/porters wages? Can’t the braggarts donate the summit permit money to building a school, hospital or sanitation facility? Surely that’s a far greater ambition with greater personal reward than walking up Everest? Maybe, if I am right, the narrative needs changing. Diminishing the fashion for a social media summit pic. Standing on top of Everest or standing in front of a school named after your expedition? I know what I’d prefer.
Prayers and love to the Sherpa and their families. They provide indispensable knowledge and work hard so other people may achieve their dreams. I'm thinking they are under appreciated and should be shown proper respect. Peace and blessings 🙏
Thank you Shelly, totally agree

For sure....
These mountains 🏔️ don’t want you on them
