I just wasted at least 30minutes of my life with "gource". Just looked at the timeline of different projects that I did. What an amazing visualization tool!
That is very... unusual representation of work... anuway, I think it's looking very cool!
you can see many way work is shown like this, it show how the game has stem off into new content and complexity instead of completely bare bones

This game is going to kick ass. Half life Alyx isn't hl3 but it sort of is, in a way. Hope this game releases and gets good among the half life's chil community. Thank you developers of this.

@@LaJin9292 At this point if we ever were to get a continuation of that story (following the outline Gabe gave us a while back I supposed) it would be called Half Life 3, not HL 2 episode 3 because Half Life 2 is beyond old news, in a few more years it will be 20 years old believe it or not.
The project borealis team is doing an amazing job so far. I hope this game ends up being amazing, I wish you all luck ❤

We dont make "Borealis" as VR game , cause we want give you a chance to play it like all other parts . Maybe we will make VR version someday , but PC is first . We will not work on Source-2 , cause it will means start working from zero , when we already have a lot stuff made on Unreal-4 for "Borealis" . Stay calm , game will be finished . "

Damn this reminds me! If you need more music, 65daysofstatic's latest album, replicr 2019, would fit a theoretical Episode 3's atmosphere incredibly well. You should absolutely check it out to see what I mean. And they're looking for another project to soundtrack after doing No Man's Sky!

I'm not excited for hl Alyx as we have waited 15 years for closure in episode 2 and they come out with a game that's not even about Gordon and I need VR equipment to play it.. fuck that, I can't wait until this game is released.

This is more significant than people might think. Look at all that progress, it feels so satisfying, so imagine how it feels for the whole team to see it from this perspective. When your development diagram gets confused with an indie visual artsy game and wins a BAFTA
Alright. So I'm going to assume from the visualization (kind of like a form of a cell), that the idea started out and blew up; once things got concrete, a large nucleus was formed and things branched off of there, with strobes adding on to the development and so on.
However at 2:20/2:22, a branched off piece got retracted. Was it an idea that couldn't be made, or was it something the development team decided to retract?
Also, thank you guys for the hard work you place into this. I wish I stayed in college to finish software programming/development so I could do things like this.
There's a limit to how many dots can be shown at once. If a file/dot has not been touched in a while, it will be removed.

People say how HL:Alyx is Half Life 3 but they don’t even think about the REAL Half Life 3
Donald Duc yea, it’s Half life 1.5. More than a Prequel, it’s a Midquel since it talks about things happened after Half Life 1 but before Half Life 2
This is beautiful, just beautiful, I love it so much! The animations, this music, the background image, it is all perfect! I felt like you were trying to self-express your feelings through this video about finally having a new Half-Life game in 12 years! Even if it is VR only it did give us new hope! Keep going PB team, you are amazing! You are a part of what keeping this community together, a part of what keeping the Half-Life franchise alive to this very day! One of many hopes to see a new true Half-Life experience!
There are 2 major games im waiting, Doom eternal for not only the quality but the way they make it. And project Borealis wich i wish i had both time and experience to help as a level designer, keep it up bloody legends ! 😉

No, it isn't. Shit, look at Black Mesa or even Warband, a game that is actually going to market. I fully expect to not see this game for years from now. This is not gonna be a quick turnaround, and you've waited very little of it so far.
My question regards cast members for the game. Do you think it possible to hire on the original voice actors? Just curious; Obviously, I am talking about development very much further down the line. Or perhaps not so further down the line than I think?
As well, I noticed your team stated that they will be taking a lot of inspiration from the upcoming Half-Life: Alyx title coming up. Will there ever be a possibility, a stretch goal perhaps, of a VR mode? Once development is complete and everything?

Well. Black Mesa Xen was first amazing experience, which showed me what Half Life community is capable of, now I am feeling super hyped for Project Borealis. I cant tell from this...thing how much the game is complete, but I´m looking foward to it and same as Xen, I think its gonna be an awesome experience.

I am one of those who think that HL3 now belongs to the fans, to whom we have always been defending the saga, contributing to the community with our mods, comics, illustrations, soundtracks...
We have kept the flame burning for more than a decade.
Do not be afraid that Valve has resumed HL, for us your mod will always be received with more passion and love.

Anyone thinks this "plant" grew any bigger since release of Half Life Alyx?
My god you guys are talented. I really want to get started in UE4, absolutely no idea where to start but your teams work has inspired me tenfold. Any suggestions on what to start with would be appreciated if you guys can spare the time to point me in the right direction. Seriously can't wait to see what you do with the interdimensional shifting at the Borealis sections.

Is Project Borealis based only on what the developers would guess Half Life Episode 3 would be like or is it based on cut content from the canceled Episode 3?
I hope they won't be too faithful to the Epistle 3 script because that story still doesn't really have an proper ending. Seeing an actual end to the series would be great. I've avoided the serise like plague because of the unfinished story so seeing the end of series would give me a reason to give the series a chance.
My God, the wait will be long so years go by but this game (which I hope to be alive) will be worth enjoying ... and if not, I hope that half life fans will enjoy it to the fullest.

To all devs (professional and not) making or planning to make fan-made games/mods:
Instead of wasting time on videos like this one or spending countless hours on graphical effects focus on actual gameplay and story. We know you're proud of your work and want it to look perfect but most projects proceeding this way end up unfinished and abandoned forever.
Who needs an amazing graphics in a game if the game itself will never come out?
PB is sill alive and well. They went silent to focus on dev.
