  • We were delighted to chat with musician, singer-songwriter and producer Midge Ure. He enjoyed particular success in the 1970s and 1980s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids and Visage, and as the frontman of Ultravox.
In 1984, he co-wrote and produced the charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?", which has sold 3.7 million copies in the UK. The song is the second highest-selling single in UK chart history. He co-organised Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof. He acts as a trustee for the charity and also serves as an ambassador for Save the Children.
During lockdown in 2020 Midge launched THE BACKSTAGE LOCKDOWN CLUB giving fans exclusive, regular access to a series of intimate, musical events on a monthly subscription basis. We discussed how the project came about and the impact of Covid-19 on the music industry, as well as the impact of streaming services on artists today
We chatted with Midge the day he starts his US solo acoustic tour 'Unzoomed and Face to Face'. Next year he embarks on his Voice and Visions Tour across the UK and Europe.

In these series of short videos, we chat with Somerset business owners to find out what they do, how they do it, and more importantly, why they do it. Informal chats are recorded and offer a chance to share tips, information, and advice.
