  • Penang island has a wide variety of hiking options.
Our first stop is Bukit Jambul and the surrounding peaks. From the hilltop, you can have a magnificent view of the eastern coastline and the 2 links to Butterworth that is the immediate mainland vicinity of the West Malaysian Peninsula. This is a good rest top for you to relax and unwind.
Next, let's explore Penang Hill from a hiking trail close to the Funicular Railway. You can find a wide range of local fruits and edible plants. When in season, there is plenty of rambutans and durians. Papayas, bur-nanas, wild berries and the mini passion fruit are common. Also you may come across the wild coriander and the stinky buah petai which locals cook with sambal belachan. Not to mention, there's a proliferation of equatorial flora like the hibiscus.
Finally, check out the funicular railway for a quick ride up and down Penang Hill. At the top, you can enjoy the cool air and explore the surroundings with food and refreshments.
Most importantly, have a fun time and enjoy life to the fullest.
Life is there for you to experience! Use it to the utmost, and never forget to soak in your surroundings and surrender yourself and be one witrh nature.
    Seize the day! Carpe diem.
