No matter how many times I see this year and make and model I get goosebumps. Best looking cars of its time and still is a great representation of the great years of car building gone bye!
My dad owned one when i was probably 14 years old or so . He bought it used but it was in great shape .It was a six cylinder with three on the tree. I used to like watching him shift it from 1st to 3rd.gear. It had original paint / green and white. How i wanted to drive that car.
This car is absolutely stunning for 1959. No matter what it is, coupe, sedan, Impala, or Bel-Air, the Biscayne is still a good choice for classic enthusiasts and collectors! The ride was amazing!
Man! Im havin a flashback! My uncle Matt had one of these. I remember sitting in the back with my crewcut and my black converse sneakers on a hot sunny day cruisin along by cooper river. Wow!
I love that Michael, thanks for sharing. Glad the video made you remember, thats awesome. Best part of making these videos. Sometimes I get folks in their 80s or 90s commenting. Nothing better.
What a great car, eh? I have a 1959 Belair 4 door sedan. Watching this video makes me want to go out and drive her. Nothing more beautiful than a '59 Chevy! Mine is done in Aztec Copper with copper interior. Love your video, I'm hoping to make one myself soon. I noticed the horn ring right away, man you have to get that fixed! Take care of her, she really is beautiful Martin.
How true! The 59 Chevy was a bit of an ugly duckling through the 60's. I do love the 59-60 chevy dash though. It is my fav old chevy dash. 61-62 was the worst.
Thank you for posting this. Great video. My favorite parts are several....the sound of the V8, showing the dash layout, and close ups of the front and rear. Thanks.
Beautiful car, great video. I wish cars were made this simple today without all of the computer crap. I also love chrome... even on this base model Chevy you got more chrome than most cars today. Gotta love that V8.
This car reminds me of the black '59 Impala Sport Sedan that my mom and dad owned back in the day. 348/ Turboglide equipped, if I remember correctly. Happy Times!
This '59 is beautiful! Not many vintage car owners would take the time to make a 4 door into such a showcase. I have a '59 Belair 4 door sedan in similar condition. I've heard many times that I have a beautiful car, to bad it's a 4 door. But I'm glad that I own a great example of the family car that the 4 doors represented.
This is a beautiful car, I wasn't born until 1967 but like these old cars which I like the cat eye taillight design on these. This car is even more beautiful being all stock including the hub caps.
68 here. Love the simplicity and styling of this era. We will never see this again! Still cant get into the screens tons o buttons on new cars. And that tire roar at even 10 mph is deafening. Screams cheap cheap!
If that car doesn't turn you into a 4 door sedan lover, nothing will. I'll always love the 2 dr. hardtop and ragtops the most but that 4 dr. cannot be denied a special place of admiration. That thing can move.
Beautiful car! Congrats for owning it. I have a '59 Impala, 2 door hardtop in Roman Red and I love it!! Eldoradony is right, the horn ring goes on the bottom. And although VERY close, you have 1960 hubcaps on her but only a true 59 buff like me would notice, lol. Enjoy it! She's a gem
Oh yeah, you're right about the wheel covers. I noticed the horn ring. I couldn't drive that car with it upside down. Our 60 had 2 59 wheel covers and two 60 wheel covers. That drove me nuts as a kid. Dad's solution was to put the 59s on the driver's side. Lol
Thank you very much! I really enjoyed filming this '59 and putting the video together. I love old cars. Be sure to subscribe to my channel if you haven't.
An absolutely stunning car! Great video!! I would love to one day own a vintage retro car if I manage to afford one. Unfortunately due to many cars being decades old a lot of them require rust repairs which cost a lot from what I've heard. Also I live in the U.K so it would be quite a struggle to park large cars like this.
Nice touch with the bottle of water. I like the way they did the two tone paint job on the 59' Chevy's & you highlighted the 'Magic Mirror' finish during the engine shot.
Love this car , we will never see anything like it again . Corgi models brought a toy model version out in the UK when I was a kid , that's the closest most of us ever got to one .
That was my Dad's car. I grew up riding in it. He had manual spot light on the driver's side. 13 mpg and a very distinctive engine sound. The interior upholstery was of poor quality, but mechanically it was bullet proof. Never had to do anything except change oil and brake pads. Loads of room and a comfortable ride. Could accelerate too. It came with a bumper jack. Now try that with a modern car.
I really appreciate the support! How did you discover me? Always curious. Thanks for the comment. I just love old cars and am fortunate enough to make a living working with them.

In Canada, the Biscayne was also called a Pontiac Strato Chief, that didn't have Pontiac's famed wide track suspension, it was little more than a rebadged Chevy.

7:13 drives by a ford with clear coat paint chipping off. Perfect illustration how durable cars were then than now. That's like an insult to today's cars cuz here you have a 58 year old car in perfect shape.
All the '59 Chevy's are beautiful cars, even after almost 60 years. The Biscayne looks the neatest of all, with its minimal use of chrome trim and the taillight lenses without the chrome ribs. I would like to bring up this fact: Years ago, there was this public service announcement on TV in which four (or was it three?) young men steal a '59 Chevy after the owner left the keys in the ignition. The young men went on a joyride, during which they drove through a red light and a '64 Chevy collides with them, and one of them is carried out on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance. Scary, wasn't it? I've been trying to find it, but so far no luck.
Wisconsin buddies drag race a pair of '59s...Impala and an El Camino, both refrigerator white and compete in Nostalgia Super Stock with many major wins between them. Impala has gold interior wrapped in clear plastic seat covers. El Camino has a red interior. Well known team out of Lancaster. Draws the crowds in the pits...
My parents bought this exact car, same colors, in 1958. It was a beautiful car, but it was the "cursed" car. The first week they owned it the neighbor kids set their house on fire and our garage caught on fire. They all got out ok, and my mom had to jump in the new car in the burning garage to get it out. Then, she had to get our garden hose and put the flames out on it. It was involved in three rear ends at red lights, twice broadsided while parked (an old guy backed out of his driveway and went across six lanes to hit it while missing all the other cars, second time we were at church and someone parked on a steep hill and forgot to put their car emergency brake on and wham, our car was the only one hit on the entire street!). Last but not least, it was stolen while we were at church. When the police called to tell my dad it had been found he said, "KEEP IT!" I have never bought a maroon or red colored car in my life due to being completely freaked out by these events (ok, a little superstitious). But, it was still A GREAT CAR!
Its a shame the fins were short lived ,my favorite year '59 she is a sharp looking car My father had a '60,my aunt and an uncle had '59's.One of these days .
Lovely car, but it is quite distracting the fact that the steering wheel is upside down. The horn ring is supposed to be in the bottom half of the steering (stock) in order not to block vision of the instruments.
Yes sir, I know it it bugs me too and will be corrected very easily. Thank you for checking it out and enjoy the channel! I love these old cars. This Biscayne is really a special one, just so nice and original. Extremely difficult to find like this
I think GM could easily construct the dies to build retro cars of this model and year... I would buy one! I just love those old Chevys... My dad had one just like this one around 1963.
+Classic Gamer I could see an old school gangster / mob man cruising this old Chevrolet. This was your everyday man's car, a family or business ride! Thanks for checking it out.
@@samspace81 Love the 59 Chevy with the one year only taillights. And the way they did that body in general is just gorgeous. Maybe one day I can get one and the Les Paul. 59 Les Paul is now $400,000. Insane what anything cost these days.
...Always liked both the '59 and '60 Chevy styling in their full sized cars... With the exception of Cadillac, GM was setting its mind on _"Phasin' out the Fin,"_ stating, _"We've got to have a 'less classic,' lighter, more futuristic design for next decade, and into the one after that!"_ By 1962, the Chevy division had done exactly that, as well as Pontiac... By the mid 60s, only Cadillac was romancing any type of "finnage" on their body styles...
No matter how many times I see this year and make and model I get goosebumps. Best looking cars of its time and still is a great representation of the great years of car building gone bye!
A four door post Biscayne yet ! This is phenomenal. Manual radio too. This is one to be admired.

If only I could have a 59 Chevy and a 59 Les Paul guitar.
Amen to that. You need them in your life Eric.
Thank you
