      the full nelson escape its such a common escape that im surprised how many people dont know how to get out of one with technique and not just out strengthening the other guy cause thats different. over the years i have seen countless people post videos on it. im pretty sure its a low level technique in different martial arts schools too. im just surprised how many people dont know it. its also bad cause like he said that beginning too many people use moves like this being bullies or just messing around and dont know they can break someones neck with a full nelson cause we have too many dumb people.

    • @germ4613

      yea i know what you mean the more commonly shown escape is gripped your hands together but down and not up at your head.

    Dean, I've been doing this stuff since 1970, first in a form of jujutsu my uncle brought back from Okinawa (karate based) and later with a commando unit in the IDF, along with other martial arts I've trained in. I now train our military overseas. You are exactly right, and are teaching the fundamentals of self defense that can save lives. All martial art forms teach these basics if the teacher or sensei knows 1) what is being taught from a biological perspective and 2) how to teach basics. Advanced techniques are usually worthless in self defense. Fundamentals learned to the point of gross motor skill level is the key. Well done men.

    it's amazing how simple some of the escapes are if you know what you are doing. I worked as a bouncer for 9 1/2 years and never used that move. It's more effective to go under one shoulder, push them onto the opposite leg and keep them off balance while you remove them from the venue while maintaining body control because they can't do anything bout it.

    • @krane15
      @krane15 4 роки тому +1

      The truth is, there is no "one size fits all" here. What works wonders for Person A, might be totally ineffective for Person B. I've broken out of expertly applied submission holds using nothing more than brute strength simply because I was bigger and stronger than the persons applying them. Proof positive that size does matter.

  • @andreneto7898
    @andreneto7898 4 роки тому +1

    if the opponent is connected with the ground, he still has power, to complement this exercise they can lean the torso forward a little to cause imbalance in the opponent, and much less strength will have if his feet are in the air, and then try to join the elbows to hold your arms, and move on to other techniques right away, thanks for the video.

  • @cameronforbes2649

    Another good way to defend the full is to just not lift your elbows when someone reaches around you. In fact I have successfully damaged someone's wrist by immediately locking elbow on one side and stepping around to the outside. Their hand was trapped by my elbow, so when I twisted to the outside their wrist bent backwards and it didn't break, but it sprained their wrist really bad.

    You see guys like Dean on TV and with all the lights and hype a lot is lost in translation. Then you see him on a video like this and immediately you get it. The last dude you wanna fu#k with.

    Why break the grip when you can throw the guy and apply an armbar? It's simple judo. Search for:
    "Combat Judo: 2 Counters to the Full Nelson."

      I actually did this and have to say lol. I'd rather take the advice of a world class grappler like dean lister than a guy with a mullet and his little brother in a field. I'm not saying that the techniques from that particular video are bad. More like thanks but no thanks!

      He should backflip throw him, then use the Kamehameha from Dragonball Super episode 87

      Breaking the grip and smashing is way, way faster. And we are talking about self defence here, if the attacker has friends you don't want to be attached to the person you are throwing.
