Another thing to mention is the runout at the bottom and tops of each pass. The cap must not be below parent material in these areas at all. Always wire wheel or wire cup between passes. Why is there zero info about the written exam??? I passed the 3g 4g weld test but I can’t find ANYthing on the written exam with open book/closed book.

There is no written exam for a certification test, it is a demonstration of physical welding ability.
