    The close up of unplugging the handle was very helpful

    Like other commenters here, I have the Honda flaky paint issue on mirrors/door handles. For the marginally-inclined like me, the handle replacement looks way more involved than mirror caps. Helpful info regardless... thanks!

      Really appreciate the comment! Thank you! But yes unfortunately quite involved to get some of this done...

    Very useful, sir. But I would like to ask if I only want to remove the two outer parts of the handle to apply the black decal, do I not need to remove the inside of the door as shown at the beginning of the video? I just want to remove the two outer parts to make the decal application easier

      @@hdkenhphimhanhong8395 if I recall correctly you just need to remove the bolt at the side of the door and the handle should come out as shown

    Hey Eddie, thanks for the helpful video. Do you have any tips on finding a replacement for a driver-side door handle that's starting to have paint problems like in your video? The door handle is totally functional -- just need to replace the plastic handle due to the paint issue.

      Hey, so you are way better off painting to match the door handles. No need to replace them. And if you buy them, they will more than likely come unpainted. Take the car or door handles to a body shop so they can paint the handles for you. Unfortunately no other way around this other than repainting them...Honda didnt exactly do too well on their mirror and handles paint...

      I have the same issue with my 2020 Civic. The dealership recommended going to a body shop. They said the could replace the handle, but the labor charges would be high.

      @@chris7015 so I actually ended up replacing the door handles myself and it costs such little money compared to getting it done by someone else or having it painted. It's also a lot easier that I thought it would be.

      @@AliKurnaz Where did you get your handles and do they appear to be good quality? I'd love to get rid of the flaky paint and think new handles would be much nicer than the covers as long as they work well. I have the hand-sensors for keyless entry.

    Question, do you need to reprogram the keyless if you change out the door handle? Mine trips out it unlocks/lock without touching it and it may be why my battery is draining. Thanks

    • @EddiesCustomsandRestorations
      @EddiesCustomsandRestorations  5 місяців тому

      No you shouldn't have to. The programming is not saved via the handle so just simply replacing it will not require reprogram

      @@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Thanks for the reply. I will unplug it for now and see if the draw goes away. If it does ill order a handle online and swap the module over so i dont need to paint a handle.

      @@philipl1302 yes ofcourse! And try the fuse pull method to see where your short is coming from. With the use of a test light or Multimeter. Do some youtube video searches on how to find a short and that should help you incase this turns out to not be the problem.

    I had to replace these handles on my wife’s 2019 Civic. The passenger side front and rear handles had flaky paint. I bought new handles from Honda and it was around $400. I don’t know what a paint job would cost, but that’s what “new” costs.. and yeah, between the door handles and side mirror caps, Honda did a shitty job with their paint.
