Oh mate a ski jump?!!!????? Brings back so many memories of bensons down in leatherhead when I was a kid. All 4 of us would pull up on the bar at the top get extra air. I cant believe there still is one. Awesome awesome ride they used to fly them back in the day. The big old tyres. Jyst can't beat the smell and fun of the fair. I love proper rollercoasters and chessington 10 mins away but id rather the fair mate. Let me know when the next ski jump is. Have to meet up il even bring my dog. Love these little fairs my boys don't know what they missed out on. Was highlight of school holidays
Hi Dave and Si great to see you back 😘 . Really enjoyed the vlog loved the ski jump brings back some great memories. Looking forward to sharing the 2021 season with you . Love as always Tracey 💕 xxx
It does not matter how small the fair, It never ceases to amaze me how much more effort goes into lighting and theming rides in Europe compared to operators in North America.
Fantastic footage Dave /Si 👍👍absolutely bloody hilarious and you 2 on the dodgems had me in stitches laughing 😆 and it drifting Si. Think of fast and furious 😂😂 I think you 2 be good for next film ! 2 dodgems , 2 guys 2 fast and Downtown fairground pumping furiously 😂😂and the ski jump is a fabulous ride not as many about now really 😢 but overall as fantastic video guys well done 👍
Good to see another vlog there Dave with Si from Burnetts Family Fun Fair good line up of rides there too and good to see you supporting the fairs as always - Nice 1 mate 👍
Hi, I've been watching this channel since 2018 and I've been loving all the enthusiasm and the growth of your channel I wish you the best in the future :)
Wow, what a time warp and in a great way! Another great vlog from the sloths. Love the Wham music! That's a Wisdom Twister, they are made in the USA, love the fence panels around the outside of it with the old designs painted on them. The Ski Jump is an 80s Pollard Flying Coaster and yes they are the only ones I know that go backwards, Bennett and Maxwell ones only go forwards as they "jump" off a hill. The Pollard ones just have a smooth hump with no "jump" on it. That puppy is so cute! The dodgem cars are 80s Majestic Azzure cars (note side mirrors), poor things have a few light covers and trim panels missing but they still look awesome. Love the classic "round ended" dodgem track as well, very old skool. The wheels on the back axel of the cars are probably worn and shiny which is why they slide about when struck. I think that's a Hrubetz Roundup but I can't be 100% sure, that little girl can pull some epic moves on it! Bless her
Glad you lads enjoyed it Hopefully see you at alresford we are just waiting on confirmation and I will let you know the dates Keep up all the work you do for the showmen
another great vlog guys . we used to meet up with burnetts back in the 90's for a couple places when i worked on herberts dodgems . pete & carrol were very nice people and they used to travel a lovely looking octopus as well as the twist & round up . Not sure if they still have it or not .I remember the twist very well it was always packed up and ready to go before i even had the tilt in the bag on the dodgems lol . very fast pull down
The ski jump is about 30 yrs old the new newer version is jump and smile or the frogs as there nicknamed the newer version of the those been about 2yrs is skater or the hurricance ride where the cars now go sideways slothy vogs have been on them in there videos
They just got rid of one at kennywood apparently got rid of four classics the bayern curve. Are they nuts. The locals wernt happy they grew up with them that curve looked awesome too. Think they called the ski jump the kangaroo. Very sad I hope they goto a fair out there or shop them over here they would all do really well straight from kennywood!!! Showmen get it shipped
hi slothy how you doing what a neat little fair wow i never saw a ski jump before what a neat looking ride i never saw a real only models that one is really cool so happy to see your vlogs again stay safe
I've not seen a ski jump in Scotland since the 80s dave, but it's so good to see just you and si with no Cooper ruining your Vlogs from Jill in Glasgow x What you done on the dodgems si was called a fishtail 😀
Shame we missed this fair at Easter in Petersfield this year again.. didn’t realise they had one in Horndean, it’s great to see them all back again no matter how big they are you can still have fun 😁
@Luke Yes this model of the Sizzler and the 'Hurricane' were, and still are, hugely popular rides at shows in NZ - owned and operated by Mahon's Amusements of NZ I believe .... I have never ever seen a Hurricane ride in England - in fact the last one I saw operating was in YT clips featuring the Festival of Britain at Battersea Park in 1951. The Hurricane is still a meain feature at Carnivals in the states and Australia and NZ. I've never been on the Ski Jump - never seem to see them in the fairs near London. But really glad to see SJ make such a come back ... I remember seeing one in the early 70's at Blackpool Pleasure beach ...
Oi Mr Slothy. Stay out of my village lol.. I'd have popped down if I'd have known what was there...Carters Grass cutter was originally at Clarence pier..

So many good memories was at leatherhead leisure centre. And was there saw my first paratrooper. If u were lucky they'd go backwards too. Was brand new then nobody had seen one. Think it was like 30 or 50 a ride then I'd jyst give them a five pound note and they'd let me stay on for about 15 goes. Lovely people. Think tgey still store in dorking they use too i know that
Theres another american grass cutter twist you didn't mention thats with the smith's fun fair travels to leysdown and sherness alot on isle of sheppy its actually there as i speak but probably abit far for you guys.

Why don’t twisters go backwards anymore
