Nice hoops Andy and in at a good weight for 50s. Carbon spokes a nice feature too. That etched brake track is a big help especially in the wet, you actually stop! My two cents worth - throw in a pair of TPU inner tubes (I use Tubolitos on race wheelsets - just make sure you get the rim brake version that are more heat tolerant), better puncture protection and faster than butyl. Rim brakes forever, keep it lit 🙂
They look the part Andy and have transformed the looks of Canyon instantly. I know what you mean about 50mm rims on the descents with a cross winds too but you get used to it after a few rides.
@@BikeItUK That's a good idea , you need to be careful with deep section rims on hilly windy descents so a good Cheshire ride will be perfect for them.BTW I emailed you from your channel info but I'm not sure if you received it pal.
Been running Superteams for about four years now and they're good value for the money. I am on the lighter side though so I don't put as much strain on them though, so your mileage may vary. Certainly not as fast as the higher end offerings out there but they're good wheels.
@@BikeItUK just a note. The others already mentioned the stock brake pads being awful but mine still struggle in the rain even with swisstop yellows. The model I have has stainless bladed spokes too so I don't have any experience with the longevity of the carbon ones.
Good information- I don’t trust the aerodynamic info of the market leader- if a wheel has the same shape it has most likely the same aerodynamic properties thus you have the benefit of the big names for a favorable price
Good honest review and thanks informing the recommended tyre size. Something missed with others. Will like the review after a while, thanks for videos and everyone who reveiws. It helps us mere mortals who arent tech geeks.
I’ve seen Super Team wheels on eBay and Ali express over the last few years, but this is the first time I’ve seen these wheels reviewed. Time will tell but if they’re anything like Elite or Ican Wheels then you’re on to a winner. 🥖🥖🥖
Another quality video mate, just sort of wonder if you’d be able to do some comparison test with a lower end branded set of wheels, first impression tho mate they look pretty good 👍👍
Great review Andy... Nice wheels. The Shimano Ultegra 6800 group set on your Canyon is almost vintage at this stage.. I find the Ultegra 6800 rear derailleur shifts much more reliably on aftermarket cassettes, than the newer Ultegra r8000 rear mec does...
Yes, I have two Canyons from the same time period one Ultegra for winter and another Ultimate with Dura Ace for summer. I can't see me needing to upgrade for many years. Very content and they do the job nicely. Thanks for watching and your support its much appreciated.
Hi Andy good change I had a cheapish.. pair of Chinese carbons about 6 years ago also 50 mm not impressed with the braking strength and nowhere near as nice looking as yours, back on Open Pro with Miche Syntesi hubs which I think are as good as any I have had in 20 years. Keep up the reviews mate good luck Noel
customs charges?total price,Bin the pads that come with wheels, useless in wet .Get Swiss stop or even prime.Jeez since they got UCI the have almost doubled in price.
Hi thanks for watching, I personally in the UK had no issues with custom charges. Agree with you regarding the wet, and if breaking for some time they can like all carbon wheels dry up and lock up. I'll have to try the Swiss stop blocks, maybe mention them in the 6 month review. Thanks for watching and the support
I bought my super team wheels via eBay, and they came direct from china, I didn’t have any uk customs charges. Can’t comment on wet weather braking as the bike they are on is never ridden in the rain, I suspect it would be pretty terrible.
@@BikeItUK thanks for the advise, I just got myself a pair of 50mm for a rim brake bike i'm building. I'll test them out and let you know how it went. Cheers!!!
@@BikeItUK Hi Andy, i ended up getting a pair of immaculate fulcrum quattro carbon. Replaced the bearing for new originals and had a hub service done. Like spanking new and ride very well on the summer bike.
Yes I’m completely with you, for me the majority of my riding are hills. So yes I’ll be using my alu also. However on flat rides only these really do come into there own. Thanks for watching 👍
I have a carbon bike with aluminium wheels (trek 2300) and an aluminium bike with carbon wheels (2022 Vitus Razor) the trek is used in winter where the wheels get a harder time, the Vitus is for summer as it’s more aero. I tend to ride flatter longer and faster roads in summer, so each bike does it’s respective job well.
Given the warranty info on the superteam website looks like it has been ripped directly from Light Bicycle it's a bit dodgy, no? (1) If any manufacturing defect occurs within 30 days of the date of being received, Light Bicycle is obligated to replace the rim(s) and pay for the shipping cost. (5) Spokes, nipples, or wheel building issues if the wheel(s) were NOT built by Light Bicycle. If you have a potential wheel building warranty issue with a wheel built by Light Bicycle When I asked they said: No business cooperation. We do know each other, but nothing associated.
So, firstly - is this a sponsored video? Did you pay for them? Helps to see if the reviewer is objective. I don't hear anything about tubeless compatibility, trueness, quality of bearings, spoke tension, the make of hub or bearings.... Sorry if this comment comes across as negative, but with cheap wheelsets, these are very important matters.
Hi, thanks for watching. The wheelset was sent for me to review for free. I was contacted and asked if I’d like to try a wheelset from them. The wheelset shown in the video are not tubeless ready, and the wheelset are incredible true. But they should be they are brand new. Bearings seem extremely smooth, but time and usage will tell. I plan on doing another update in approximately 6 months to see how they are getting on.
Not for me thanks, i'll stick to my alloys. Nobody within 300km of me is even likely to stock a carbon spoke let alone be trusted to replace it....i can fix a steel spoke in my lunchbreak and i've got two left thumbs...
Hmm, I am always hesitating to buy carbon fiber rims from China, I prefer to stick with Roval, Hed ,Zipp, Reynolds or older generations of Mavic Cosmic Carbon wheels.
Ooohh I do think your saddle is 20-40mm too high sorry to say but your toes are pointing downwards all the way through the pedal stroke…I’ve been a 56cm bike rider only to realise actually I need a 53 after 30 plus years of ridding a bike…90% or riders are riding a bike too big and it has cost me a lot of money but it’s obviously to me your saddle it’s too high… check out bike fit James as after a few hundred quid later later was quite an eye opener
These could be dangerous. Also these chinese wheelsets almost always weigh 100-200gm more than the advertised weight ... Good luck with that chinese warranty if something goes wrong you are probably SOL ..
They are faster for sure, and if using on the flats then no complaints at all very impressed with them. If you are doing a lot of climbing then Id probably stick to my traditional wheelset.
@@BikeItUK I had similar wheels and on more than one occasion my bike was blown around the rd in crosswinds and decending was a nightmare in windy weather. You definitely look sexier on a vintage/ proper bike. Excellent body position etc. 😉
Thanks for the review buddy. We will keep rolling them out.😊
Great wheelset I’m still rolling on them and going strong. Highly recommended and need to do a follow up review 👍

the 6800 is very reliable and bulletproof, the r8000 with 11speeds is not so much
I like my 6800 group very much. Light, reliable and still good looking.
From all SHIMANO SERIES the best style have ULTEGRA❤
Agreed 👍 thanks for watching
do a climbing and flat road test comparing times between your new canyon and a vintage steel bike using a power meter.
Not a bad idea, ill need to get a power meter.

No 6 months update? Are they still ok? How is braking in wet with that 50e K line
Sorry for the late reply. The rims in the wet not so good and I’ve also had an issue with the rear hub

How's the braking action feeling?
Braking good on flat, little sketchy on decent’s in the wet as the rim drys. Same with any carbon rim

How much did you pay for the wheel set and what model are they?
They have so many different models on there website
They are the all carbon Shimano ones, hope this helps. I’m still very impressed with them 👍
What do you think of them now you have had them for a bit Andy?

Deep carbon wheels always look good, but I will probably stick with old fashioned alu for my undulating rides.
