- Hello, and welcome to another video! Chalice of the Gods is an instant classic filled with iconic quotes, scenes and passages, and today we're taking a look at all my favorite ones. I loved the scene where Percy used Iris’ staff to tell Annabeth he loved her. It just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy❤️

With Rick writing this while working on the show, I have a theory that the drawback with Annabeth's cap was created for the show to give an excuse why she doesn't always use it in a visual based media, and Rick wanted to throw it in and make it canon in the book series to get ahead of the "That wasn't in the books" complaints.

Glad to know I’m not the only one who can talk about Chalice of the Gods for an hour!
Also about the ‘not having any cameos’ I would love to see Rachel (even if it is just for a short scene): just to see how the trio’s dynamic with her has changed, since the whole love triangle thing in BOTL and TLO
Rachel is also one of my acceptable cameos, seeing as she was one of Percy's best friends before HoO happened
Yess and I want to see it that way again. The only mention we got of Rachel during HOO was when Annabeth was teasing percy about it in tartarus?? But I so wanna see how they've grown from that if you know what I mean

About Sally expecting them to do the "right thing", I don't know... When I read the book I thought that just meant being responsible. And then I thought "wow, Sally is really open minded". But I didn't want to think much about that so I just kept reading 😅

Oh I absolutely loved the book because it was such a throwback to PJO, and honestly feels like PJO (Percy has the same energy as in PJO, as opposed to HOO Percy, who honestly was kinda missing something imo.)

I got the book only three weeks ago (curse my country's distance from America and UK!) along with some books from the Artemis Fowl spin off series (very good series, I recommend reading - especially the first 6 books) and I got to a part in Chalice where the gang was running from the monstruous chickens and Percy had a line that went: "[...] don't you know some *fowl* insults?" And the main character's name in the other book series I bought is literally Artemis *FOWL* (yes, I know in chalice fowl is actually used because it's foul insults adressed to chicken but still). And then later in the book, Percy mentions Earl Gray, which is Artemis's favourite's tea which he drinks in (I believe) 3 out of eight books. If that isn't a godly sign that it's time for a PJO and AF crossover then I don't know what is.
I swear those two things made this the best PJO book Rick made, in my opinion at least.
I always saw him reacting that way to a bad grade as him panicking he might not make it college with Annabeth.

as someone who's been eating alone since the dawn of time, I gotta say I don't really.... feel alone? Like, if I was used to having friends at school and stuff, then I'd probably feel like sth's missing, but most of the time I just sit alone, study alone, eat alone and it doesn't feel wrong to me. I guess you can never feel alone if you've never had any friends to begin with, which sounds a lot sadder than it actually is

Anyways this book gave me one of my new favorite funny chapter titles. “I give relationship advice, no seriously why are you laughing?”
The whole thing about Percy having to make up to Annabeth for going missing is a bit weird. It wasn't his fault! He didn't want to go!
I was also so confused about the NY Yankees cap. The book makes it sound like it's the first time Percy's ever worn it, which is not true at all! He wore it in the Titan's Curse when Annabeth left it behind.
Those were just my two head-scratcher moments. But I loved this book SO MUCH. It made me incredibly happy and I lived for the nostalgia. I love the slice of life stuff.
I loved that we got to see the pregnancy announcement. In TOA Sally's just pregnant and I'm like, I need to see the behind the scenes of this Jackson-Blofis family moment.
I also think he wore it (Yankees cap) in BotL when he was in mount Othrys, I get the inconsistencies though, it’s a lot to keep track of!
I mean, I think with the first one; I don’t think he had too, I just think he felt some irrational guilt from it, and that’s why all Annabeth said was be there.
25:46 This is one of my favorite meals so I fangirled HARD. Not as hard as I fangirled with the chapter “I face a dangerous predator who is possibly my future mother-in-law” BECAUSE YES BUT ALSO WHY “POSSIBLY” 😭

I don't know if anyone has commented this but the knife Annabeth uses is actually from demigods and magicians book 2 .
(I'm not giving spoilers but the dagger is actually a transformed wand or whatever the magicians call it which she got from sadie)
I just read someone has already said that i didn't mean to midpick sorry but i just love that small titbit from that book explaining her knife
P. S i just love talking about pjo as where i live no one reads these books

@@Unclaimeddemigod I had read it quite a lot of times compared to the other short stories as I had completed all the books (the last book from toa hadn't been published I was so excited as it was the first time i had to wait for a book series to have to be published unlike the others I had read) and just wanted to read more percy so i read all of them 10-12 times (main books and and all his cameos and short stories) I myself notices it on my 2nd Or 3rd read

I have like a theory that maybe Anaklusmos will not work or smth. Yeah, we got a explanation that it had like a child proof cap, but it they weren't sure if that was the reason. Also we didn't get to see any other battle scene where he tried to use the sword, and I think rick MAY do something with that

I honestly think everyone who was around me while I was reading this book thinks I’m crazy. With all the laughing, and running around while squealing “AWWWWWW”… yep they must think I’m insane. And I don’t blame them lmao
in all fairness it was a really squeal inducing book
