Great video, so glad it was just the sensor. The lessor of 2 evils, It could have been worse. and you did the right thing, not risking the engine on the long drive to NJ.
I am glad that you got it fixed and it turn out level sense of oil as I expected ( if you look at my comment on the last video it is the oil level sensor). Keep your content coming.
I have replaced my oil level sensor and oil pressure solenoid valve and my iDrive on the Supra still wont let me measure beyond 18-20% without stopping to say I have to continue driving longer. Just give us dipsticks back!!
I used that same oil in my 15 428i and burned a quart of oil in 4500 miles. I then switched over to the LL liqui moly one because the BFE liqui moly oil is not the best for hard driving and more so for fuel economy. The liqui moly LL 5W-30 is a full SAPS oil which helps in protecting the engine better with hard driving but more so for combating acid that comes into the engine from the fuel. I only burned 0.3 quart in 4800 miles with that oil. I now use AMSOIL Euro Formula FS 5W-40 for summer/spring and the 0W-40 FS version of it for fall/winter and I do 10,000 miles intervals and I burn NO oil. Yes in 10,000 miles on AMSOIL I burned NO oil in a BMW motor. If I were you John I’d consider AMSOIL especially in a M4 GTS.
Currently dealing with a low pressure oil issue on my F80 M4 after taking it in for an oil change. Replaced the oil pressure sensor and still reporting low oil pressure and vanos codes
@Dear8872 they lost the "birdcage " attachment that goes inside the filter and the little O ring that goes on the end. Needless to say the manager of that facility got in trouble with corporate
It’s so interesting to see that the for the diagram for the car in the engine oil level menu is a base model 4 series and not a diagram of m4 or an m4 gts
If the oil is already full and the car says it's low, you don't want to add another quart and overfill it. Best to drain and measure the oil if there's no sign of leaks or burning.
Hey John, did you ever consider in a pinch to drain and measure the amount of oil before the Kies show, to check whether you were actually low? I figure if/when you saw that the oil was NOT in fact low and no signs of oil leak, you would be comfortable enough to conclude that the issue was just the sensor?
Glad the issue is fixed bro! Quick question, what wheels are those? Oem 763m? And 19" or 20"? I'm looking for new wheels for my new f36 and can't decide between 19" or 20" lol
So so glad to see the GTS is fine, I saw you at the Kies auto show and you seemed bummed out about not being able to bring it to the show, but we still had fun even with the Tiguan. Hope to see you next year man (and the GTS )🫡
It might fit, but it will not read properly as the spacer will push a stock s55 sensor further away from the oil pan, this will trick the measuring system into thinking you actually have too much oil in the car. The GTS sensor compensates for the spacer.
Regular S55 takes 6.5L / 6.9 Qts, CS & GTS takes 7.0L / 7.4 Qts . You are conflating quarts & liters; just an FYI for you or your followers
why CS & GTS NEED 7.0L?????
What is the difference between the engine oil pan?
@@ruiluo1034 GTS/CS has an oil pan that allows for an extra 0.5L. Regular cars do not have this oil pan.
Bring back the dip stick ;-)

Absolutely!
Bmw needs to add the dipstick back to all cars from the factory

Great video like always, glad that the issue was only a $269 sensor instead of $10k + engine
What a relieve, good thing it was just the sensor 🙏🏾.

It is ok that after changing you still don't have max level? Because have the same and don't know if it is ok
Glad you got it resolved without any major problems!

Aftermarket oil coolers also take usually take more oil too
Yes, a half quart extra
I use 5w40, in my m240i stage 2, what do you think?

Yess we are back in business!!!
why don’t they make dipstick retrofits for all the motors
Ive followed you for a long time, always making good content but one thing i dont see yet is, you track the car. Should be a good content
Glad the issue is fixed bro!

These are the apex vs5rs wheels, similar to cs or gt4 style
@@ThicWhips Word, thanks man!
And you're a real one for replying all the time! :D
Glad it was something simple!

Glad it wasn't nothing major! 4k res.. new camera?!
Super glad bro it's a sensor
I nailed it. I mentioned when I saw the video.
🎯
26 mpg in the m4??
So wait... if you have the spacer, couldn't you just order the normal sensor?

I mis simpler times when engines had dipsticks
Great to see nothing serious!
Cant wait for that e30 content!
Comin in hot
I just think it’s so stupid bmw can’t install a dipstick? We can’t even check the condition of the oil unless we drain it.
Bmw Break My Wallet! Drives like a dream but Made like pieces of sh*t
Deeznut here 1st
Glad to hear it was just the sensor 🫡
