    Feel you brother,small movement leg room , using AT, so one less pedal. This, though 2 years out, comes at the perfect time in my 1930 pickup build project, chopped 3”and channeled also .
    Been looking at that same shaft ,etc. from Speedway Motors , using a MII suspension and rack and pinion . Thanks for sharing!

    BAM! Your work is flawless. I like the steering and I like how you've got everything planned for the completion.
    I learned that there is something as a universal Pitman arm.

    Nice job what pipe did you use for shaft ? Does it have a front mount threw firewall??

      The column is a plain steel unit from Speedway with removable wheel hub. The shaft is 3/4" DD solid steel. The mount is a Speedway cheapy clamp on mount.

    Can you use the vega box with a stock Ford 1930 steering column.? I know it will have to be cut but that's ok. Your channel is really awesome.

      If you cut the Model A box off and grafted on a DD shaft or splined shaft to go to a u-joint it wouldn't be any different than what I did. You'd have to make a bushing to hold the lower end of the steering shaft in the column tube. Thanks for watching.

      QuickSpeedShop Thanks for the info. There is a local company that has all kinds of bearings. Maybe one of them will work.

      @@QuickSpeedShop I'v tried to save the stock model a steering column but it's a goner. In the videos you say that you used a steering column from speedway motors .Which one did you use.?

      @@lilorbielilorbie2496 I used their generic smooth column with removable hub. Can't remember how long it is.

      @@QuickSpeedShop Thanks for your fast reply. I think that I might know which column you used since you said it was their generic one.. If it's to long I can always make it a little shorter.

    So many "that's what she said" moments

    • @QuickSpeedShop
      @QuickSpeedShop  5 років тому +1

      So I slipped the shaft into the DD...That's what she said. The shaft is too long...That's what she said. I'm going to mount the column and then fit the shaft...That's what she said.
      There's a dimple in the shaft for the screw...That's what she said.
