I’d like to get an honest look into the lives of these trolls! They would never have the guts.
Keep being you G! You’re on the road less traveled and we’re lucky that you bring us along. Ellie’s with you, Simon, Liz, and Alex love you…that’s all that matters.

The whole point of a vlog is that you're sharing your daily life with us, including the moments of uncertainty, sadness, and even anger. It's not how you are or feel about something always, it's your feeling in that moment. Just because you're frustrated about the shop in one vlog doesn't mean you're frustrated about the shop in general. No one feels good about everything in their life (including with people and things we love) all the time, we have ups and downs. You share both.
People have a really hard time understanding that.

I think she is being caring really. Sometimes people can't always accurately articulate what they feel, although it might sound condescending; I don't think any malice was intended.

Probably true but it came across as ageist and the individual didn't think how their words could hurt someone's feelings because their opinion mattered more.

I am very disappointed with the ageism that women in particular receive. You have always been a very active and creative person, and having lived with your heart condition your whole life, no one knows better than you what you are capable of doing. I sincerely hope that this person takes a moment to reflect on what they commented and maybe learn something. The people who I admire the most are always those don't let society dictate what they should or should not do, just because of their age,.gender or their physical abilities. You are a creative powerhouse, and you march to your own rhythm. Keep being you, and doing what you do. Sending luv, hugz and healing energy to you and yours, as always 😁 x

Hi Georgina. Firstly I just wanted to say you’re one of my favourite UA-camrs and I always look forward to your videos. You bring people joy in a world where it’s very much needed. You asked for feedback on the comments you’d received. Here’s my thoughts. For you, ‘hustling’ seems to be more than just a money making venture. It’s a hobby and something you and Simon enjoy doing, so why the heck not. The fact you spent most of your holiday looking round second hand shops and yarn shops should be an indicator to people that it’s something you choose to do in your spare time. Sure, it’s never gonna make you a millionaire because the items you’re selling on aren’t always high priced items but the enjoyment you get from it is worth just as much as the money. My Grandad used to love going round antique fayres and collecting bits and bobs. It’s a fun pastime. You seem to be someone who has a couple of hobbies you focus very heavily on at any one time. When I first started watching you, it was cross stitch but now it’s crochet (something I admire cos I can’t crochet for love nor money despite my best efforts). And it will probably develop again into something else. We all have phases of doing things repeatedly and then moving onto something else. So if ‘hustling’ and crochet is what you enjoy, just do it and don’t worry what strangers think who don’t even know you. You’d do those hobbies anyway, even if you weren’t earning any money from it. So if you can earn a couple of pounds here and there at the same time, great. Yes of course you could probably earn more with a steady 9-5 office job or something. But would you bored? Probably. You’re not that kind of person. You like a bit of variety. I view it as the singing teaching is your constant, steady job and the other things you do supplement it. As you know only too well, life is too short to not follow your passions. Be happy and don’t even bother about the age thing. You’ve been through so much illness in your life and surely that’s even more reason to do what makes you happy. Also, rather than people being negative about the things you’re doing, they should be admiring of your determination, drive and willingness to take risks. I couldn’t do what you do. And I’m sure many others couldn’t. The world would be a very boring place if everyone aspired to just do the same line of work and never push their boundaries. It’s the easiest thing in the world to pass judgement on someone else’s life but to each their own. So be happy and keep being you. It’s what makes you special. You have so many followers for a reason. Take care xx

Those comments made me sad because no one should have to explain themselves to anyone especially people they don't know. When someone passes any kind of judgment they need to walk in the shoes of those they are judging and see how they would handle things. Keep doing you, Georgina. You are an inspiration. I think we have varying levels of being busy. Most people with full time jobs probably wouldn’t have as much free time as you seem to have to crochet, lunch with family members etc.. I guess that is the sacrifice we make when we are an employee. Working for a corporation does have its benefits I.e private pension etc to help retirement a little easier. And that said those of us on PAYE do help those less fortunate with paying taxes to fund people on benefits that can’t or in some cases refuse to work. That said , it must be nice to have the freedom when you work for yourself so there are pro’s and cons.

I so admire your courage, your amazing work ethic and your perseverance. Often, people will project what they think or feel onto someone else... "you're making yourself too tired" for example. Well, if you like working hard on a task and it does make you tired, but you don't mind, who is anyone to judge? And, as you said, if once in a while it gets to you and you need to vent, we're here for you and we understand that it's just that - venting for the moment and not complaining about your life in general. Love your crochet stuff. That little pumpkin can be used as a pin/needle cushion if there was foam or something like that on the inside. Waving hello from NYC and sending hugs...

A really interesting conversation to be had. I’m a big believer in you do what’s right for you, no one else should tell you what you can/can’t do (as long as it’s all legal!).
On the other side of things, I did hear once that you don’t have to try to monetise everything that you enjoy. It can take all of the enjoyment out of it. Do things you enjoy because they bring you joy, not to make money.
As a teacher, I would love to have a little more time for me and my hobbies. At the moment I realistically work about 60 hours a week, 9 hours in school a day, 2 hours in the evenings and 3 at the weekend. I’m striving for more balance in my life to pursue the things I enjoy.
You keep doing you Georgina and thanks for bringing little pockets of joy with your vlog!

Very good thoughts put into the world this time, I feel you! I feel like no matter how much I work or how much money I make, it all goes away. And it’s normal, because I do nice things and travel and enjoy my life also, but it’s a never ending process this one, for the majority of us. Unless you’re super rich, it’s always kind of a hustle. I guess it depends on how we see things too. Good luck, I wish you all the success! ❤

  • @PopUnlimited

I don't think you're "too old to be hustling". I think the comment was well meaning though, because obviously you are very open about your health struggles. Although we don't know everything about your health or your monetary income, when you share things about how much money you've made at a car boot sale or how many customers you've had in through the door on a particular day, people are going to have an opinion on that.
Being honest, I don't understand why you only do a single day a week of vocal coaching when that's your professional skill and perhaps leaning into it more would mean a more steady income. Also why you don't do more live stream selling when you've shown us how many more orders you do get when you do that for an hour or two.
But then again I appreciate I don't know all the details and I understand when you say that having multiple things on the go throughout the week is what keeps you motivated. So long as you can pay the bills and you're happy, I suppose that's what matters the most x

Age is just a number. It's how you feel that matters. Don't let anyone box you in.. Great job on your first crochet pumpkin. I do make mine by going into the back stitch, but you figured out an easier way. You will probablly have to start stuffing them with polyester fiberfill eventually.l It's non-allergenic and comes in big bags.

I feel like you missed the point of the age comment. I think what they were getting at was that at your age you would hope to have a stable job and stream of income, and wouldn’t have to work several side hustles to make ends meet. Its one thing to have a bread and butter stream of income and have something else on the side, but when no one job is paying your bills, it’s hard to move up in life, particularly at your age.
It doesn’t help that your attention is split on several different ventures, so you don’t have the time or energy to build one into a truly fruitful income.
I hope what you are working on takes off. Wishing you well.

Really!?! since when did people become so judgmental though, I wouldn't dream of trying to make someone feel crappy for how they earn money. You have no idea what's happened in her personal life or how many funds she has in savings etc...I personally think it's so rude! Life isn't the same for everyone, you could be in a career and get made redundant (I was made redundant and I literally had to change careers basically starting again) Ideally yes, everyone would have a good steady income but various factors can happen which means it isn't that straightforward.
