Thank you again History Hunters ( includes EE and BBG of course Dad too ).... Always love the surrounding views you incorporate with your adventures... Thank you and be careful and stay well
Love your content, showing a lot of these umknown sites. The Germans before and during WWII really had some of the most cutting edge techknowlogy of the time period. Thank you.
That was a very insightful look into the Germans torpedo defenses. It's incredibly interesting to see all the different structures they constructed and utilized back then. That is why I love watching your channel, you seek out the best and most obscure locations! Keep up the awesome work! Thanks Eagle Eyes and Mr. History Hunter!
Geart site. That the rail line is left is astounding since metal is metal and scrappers grabbed a lot of it. It is actually a simple site which is even better. EE is getting into showmanship now with knowledge. Another great video my friend. Keep going and everyone be safe out there.
That's an interesting location and something a bit different than other sites we've seen. Good job guys, thank you and EE for your efforts and for sharing.
Thank you both for bringing us this fascinating location. Some very curious buildings scattered around that site. Especially the actual firing point with that very interesting back wall, and that curious square "bunker" on the top of the hill. Would love to have seen that site in operation just to get an idea of what purpose each bunker was used for. And all that just for one torpedo launch tube. The more you show us of these incredibly rare sites, the more it amazes me of how much time, effort, material, and manpower, was expended by the Germans on the Atlantic coast. Incredible. Thanks again for showing this unique place to us. Cheers to you both! Stay safe!
Sweet location ❤️ Freaky torpedo battery site. That's awesome the site, bunkers and railroad tracks are still there 🙏❤️ Keep up the excellent work. Greetings to you History Hunter and your family 🙏
Man this family is just so awesome.the dad so knowledgeable, and loving of history it's so nice to see.and the kids are equally just as amazing.its so great to see kids so invested in history also.i hope this channel never goes anywhere.i need my hh dose lol.much love history hunter and family, from mine to yours.
Another interesting location, would have never seen this without your travels. EE knows his history, could hear him in the background naming the positions. Thank you and EE for the tour of this piece of history. Hope all is well and stay safe.
That was a fantastic location. Never knew they guarded a location with torpedoes and had the tubes on land ! The fireplace was my first to see and it was so clean !!!thank you so much ! Proud for you EE and your dad other trip ! That’s great ! Be careful Be safe !! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for all the time, effort and research you put into your presentations. I feel like I'm right there with you and Eagle Eyes. You make WW2 history come alive. Also, thank you very much for the gift you recently sent, It's wonderful to have a piece of WW2 history.
Sweet find . Very exciting seeing the past and the havoc it created . This is history and glad it is still there to be observed . Enjoyed this a lot. Thanks
Once again, some outstanding scenery and a magnificent WWII battery, but what a difference, cut out of the rocks and hidden with so much netting. As you say, it would have looked very different in deep winter, but in the summer, breath taking. Interesting those walls behind the launch tube, to me, looks like a blast deflector I have seen before, but who knows. EE having a great time again, and such stamina well done. Thank you for sharing with us, stay safe and well my friends
I believe the wreck of Tirpitz are somewhere around also? I don't know how far up you are, but I assume quite far north in the country. Very interesting.... My grandfather and his father were in the resistance. The Germans took the family farm on the fjäll... They never got it back again. When I was a child, we spent our summers at that fjäll but further down. In a shed on the summer property, there were German helmet, bayonets and munition boxes, used as a part of the disguise when the resistance were out on mission to sabotage cables and other equipment... Love your videos from this area.
This place is totally awesome and we loved to find and visit that place. Pretty rare to see and it was part of a bigger system in the area. Thank you very much for your great support and we shall share so much with you my friend :)
The torpedo tubes used likely came from either of the destroyers Z5 Paul Jacobi or Z6 Theodore Riedel who had their quadruple launchers removed before returning back to Germany. I do have a picture that I believe shows these launchers.
What a fascinating place! From the photos I can picture the action that went on here. The destruction of the ships must have been incredible! One people fighting against another each believing they are doing what needed to be done. There must have been a bunker and other buildings there once upon a time. Thank you and the amazing Eagle Eyes for sharing this amazing adventure. 💖💯
Thanks! That place is overwhelming. So much time and effort into planning, organizing, and constructing was needed. Enjoy your pre-emp on each video before you go on your adventures, outlining the historical events or any personal details pertaining to that particular site. Makes it that much more intriguing. The way you described it I could actually imagine the German soldiers preparing the torpedos and when sighting the enemy launching them towards their intended target. The bunker with the fireplace was amazing and quite spacious. Imagine the heat that the fireplace pumped out, while the soldiers were sitting around playing cards and talking about back home. Pretty effective defensive and protective layout. Thank you HH and EE. Keep safe and healthy.
This place is part of something greater and the views there are totally unreal. The soldiers there would have had a comfortable serving time. Thanks so much Laura.
Such an interesting location. Didn't know that torpedo batteries were used like guns and fired from land. Ama,ing how much e.g. the railwau is still in place. Thank you HH and EE for your enthusiasm and love in bringing this content to us!
Loved that fireplace inside that bunker. Very nice; not seen one intake before. And to see an actual torpedo battery area was very very nice. Loved it!!!! Great to hear EE excited about it all too.. Stay well friend
Another simply amazing position, Team HH!!! I wish sometimes we could get a glimpse into those times, to see for ourselves the things for which we can only surmise!💖
Danke for the tour. Very enjoyable. I figure some fancy pants captains put in a fireplace, they had a wine rack, some aged Swiss cheese and crackers, a victrola playing Mozart and some Rembrandt paintings hanging on the wall in that bunker. Hey, they did it in style and that's what counts.😎
We just think you guys are the cats meow! The amount of walking alone is crazy! Beautiful videos you put out. Love the back stories. Big hugs to HH, EE, and BBG. Thank you for all the huge effort you put in to bring us this informative and exciting content. ❤❤❤
What a great piece of history. Loved the photo showing the torpedo launcher. I think your right about the torpedo storage building no longer there. Awesome find in this location.
it's been quite a while since i have gotten to enjoy a walk in history with you. I'm so glad ya still going. Keep it up my friend. Many blessings to you and yours.
Thank you so much HH! Once again you and Eagle Eyes have shown us something new and special! Big applause for Eagle Eyes for being out there with your dad doing you magical stuff! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
I dont normaly say anything i just watch your work with eagle eye's. You must be very proud of your son. what a great dad you must be. I thank you for the hourse of enjoyment you have given me, as i will never get to see what you see close up.
Wow we appreciate that my friend and honored that you are with us here. Very proud i am and very honored to have EE by my side. Thanks and we shall share so much with you later.
Fascinating location, definitely different. Looks like a cool place to do some fishing and if it starts raining you have shelter. Another excellent video from the history Hunter twosome!
Crazy simple thing! probably old ww1 torpedo tubes still effective like this! I would not want to wheel down a torpedo down that exposed ramp under fire though : / great video
Great video as usual! Thank you both for another trip into the past. Seeing the quality and quantity of work the Germans put in so quickly always amazes me. I'd love to see what's under the water there if you get to go back. Oh and by hopping onto the top of the fortification you weren't doing something stupid, you were being adventurous, same thing I'd have done!
This must have been a very important location for the U boats so there has to be many flack positions to protect it and the U boats. It would be nice to see the boom Crain there for loading the torpedoes. So the tubes for firing the torpedoes were not in a building like your other video showed. Must be very exciting for you to see because you served on a submarine. Great location and am sure you and Eagle Eyes are enjoying your adventures.
Happy to help mick Australia. God bless you both ) love how you put history to gather you give the time to show past history to now. And I appreciate. God bless. Father and son. ) you live the dream.) God bless )
Cool vidoe thank you history hunter and Elise some really cool bunker storage for torpedo had no idea they even had things like that. Keep up the amazing work you and your 2 kids do to share all the information with us.
Great video, it would be nice to have had the ROV for some underwater exploration on the dock area. Maybe even a torpedo or two could have been found. :)
Great video mate! Love watching since I’m stuck in the US unable to afford to travel for now. Your channel helps me see any things I may not ever get to see in person.
This is very cool. I always love the cool German installments near the water. These videos you make are some of my favourite. The level of mystery and silence which brings your mind unto the past wondering what it was like when soldiers were there.
Wow, that was cool. I did not know they had an above ground torpedo setup. I thought they were all bunkers that just spit out the torpedo just above the water and were recessed into the mountain. Thank You for clearing that up for me.
There you go Larry. This is what we do , we research , travel and go to these places to share with you great history. Thank you for your great support my friend and greetings from us.
I'm surprised the Germans didn't have tons of torpedo launch sights in the Fjords, and along the Atlantic wall. This place looks like I could spend too much time exploring it, but I would enjoy every second doing it. I can't wait to see what you and EEs bring us next.
Wow what a cool location!! Awsome scenery all around there. Nice work guys!!! Eagle Eyes, your gonna be able to write a book on History Hunting one day!!
What always gets me, is only 80yrs ago all these locations were full of active military operations. Soldiers in full combat mode running, screaming, and fighting. 80 yrs is nothing in the scope of things. my gpa was 101st, didn't speak about the war, except for how he was wounded from German artillery. i hope some day you can take us to Belgium, and in the woods around Foy. Anyway, thanks again for all you do in keeping these places alive for us
What mesmerizing beauty with all the mountains, fjords, and other bodies of water. That was a pretty cool heavy duty square ammo bunker. Definitely suited the purpose. Just imagine when the railroad tracks were in operation transporting the torpedo heads and other heavy duty machinery needed. The bunker with the fireplace, do you think it was for all of the soldiers or just the senior officers? The bunkers did blend in well with the environment. Did you go into any of the other bunkers? Will you be going back with the ROV? You really know your stuff EE. Did your Dad know as much as you at your age? Thanks for taking us there. Oh yes and bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 EE.
This is very interesting, like most of the nice folks in the comments i never knew there was a land mounted torpedo launch site. I looked it up ave found an entry calling them Harpoons and says that they were usually either triple or quadruple launchers and mentions one at Herdla. I was curious whether any of these sites ever saw action but couldn't find any info on that. Anyway, great job as usual you guys and especially Eagle Eyes! Can't wait for the next one.
Sorry I did not get to watch when you posted this. I will try to watch on time. A very interesting location. Odd wall, was it There to blend in with the large rock formations? Net and paint could make it look much like formations there.
One question HH, what is the energy source to fire that torpedo cannon. Would that be electrical like a sub or would it be gunpowder as on a surface ship. Thanks for what you do.
History Hunter I'm guessing you don't tell these locations in the videos because you don't want to draw attention to the public. Love your show and what your doing just wish I knew some sort of vague location not to search them myself just because Im very curious the setting of these places it makes the story better. Anyways thanks for finding all these places. I would be happy with a simple country but I understand if you don't want to reveal even the country it defitnely keeps these places desolate. I'm from the united states and there is nothing but old civil war battlefields that are extremely documented around here. Anyway love your sites and Europe seems really cool that all these bunkers, wreckage, gun in placements, foxholes, etc are still around that haven't been visisted in 70-80 years or so
The Occupying Germans took a leaf from the Norwegians after the loss of Hipper in Drobak Fiord which was finally sunk by a Whitehead torpedo battery, after being set on fire by Coastal Artillery.
I am so glad that we(the British) didn't spend so much time and effort as Hitler did on coatal fortifications (barring the Channel lslands of course )apart from some Great Warreamains regarding Zeppelins , sound mirrors etc that still with the addition of astethoscope can still 'hear' an aircraft enginein good weatherup to 50 Imprial miles.
Dear history hunter and eagle eyes, My home is in de middle off the grebbelinie. 45 mins of ijmuiden where there is lots of history. If you want you can stay at my place to explore the Netherlands
Thanks for the video HH and EE. This is another awesome place you have found, never new torpedoes we're fired from land positions before. How long would it take to load them and let loose 🤔. Great to see the old railway track there two!!😎🐓🐓🐓🐓🇬🇧🇺🇦
It is very exciting to see how heavily invested EE is. It is encouraging to see youngsters who want to get up, out and make discoveries.
Oh yes David , EE is like no other young boy. Totally dedicated and so enthusiastic. Pure inspiration for me. Thanks and more to come :)

Indeed and loved the place. Thanks.

What a unique position! Incredible to see an actual fireplace instead of a bunker oven. Very very cool
Yes that fireplace was so special. Loving it. Thanks James :)

Well we actually did and it is just a,,false wall with nothing behind it :) Thanks for watching.

Anyway, thanks again for all you do in keeping these places alive for us
Thanks for watching and greetings from us.
Wow what a very interesting spot. I'm living your trip with eagle eye's. Looking forward to the next video
How great to read and thanks Gary :)
Totally so Laura. This is one of those locations we shall never forget and so glad we could share that with you. Thanks and more to come :)
Thanks
Your support is appreciated and we thank you for that :)
Is this the second one you have visited ? With a torpedo, you can set the depth and make it turn. A practical harbor defense weapon.
no we have visited many locations with torpedoes. Thanks.
Can you revisit this site with the ROV and explore what could be under the water, it will be interesting to see if there is relics there.
Who knows what the future looks like :) Thanks Glenn :)
Agree , very interesting place that is and loved to share that. Thanks Scott and greetings from us.
Please tell me you brought the FIFISH , see now I think like a detective . Great adventure 👍
Not there my friend and thanks for watching.
Sorry I did not get to watch when you posted this. I will try to watch on time.
A very interesting location. Odd wall, was it There to blend in with the large rock formations? Net and paint could make it look much like formations there.
Thank you and greetings from us.
One question HH, what is the energy source to fire that torpedo cannon. Would that be electrical like a sub or would it be gunpowder as on a surface ship. Thanks for what you do.
well i havent studied that actually so couldnt tell. Thanks for watching.
Anyway love your sites and Europe seems really cool that all these bunkers, wreckage, gun in placements, foxholes, etc are still around that haven't been visisted in 70-80 years or so
Well we neve reveal any location and i guess that is just our way to do this. Thanks for watching and greetings from us.
The Occupying Germans took a leaf from the Norwegians after the loss of Hipper in Drobak Fiord which was finally sunk by a Whitehead torpedo battery, after being set on fire by Coastal Artillery.
Thanks for watching.
I was going to suggest the German’s engineered a solution to the Scapa Flow raid by U-47.
Wow superb guys
Thank you so much
I am so glad that we(the British) didn't spend so much time and effort as Hitler did on coatal fortifications (barring the Channel lslands of course )apart from some Great Warreamains regarding Zeppelins , sound mirrors etc that still with the addition of astethoscope can still 'hear' an aircraft enginein good weatherup to 50 Imprial miles.
Thanks for comment and for watching Peter.
When not underwater, were they still using compressed air to launch torpedoes? Thanks for the video. ❤👍
Well there are many systems around and was around so i guess that depended on the location and types. Thanks for watching.
Dear history hunter and eagle eyes,
My home is in de middle off the grebbelinie. 45 mins of ijmuiden where there is lots of history. If you want you can stay at my place to explore the Netherlands
ok good to know and thanks for being here.
Thanks for the video HH and EE. This is another awesome place you have found, never new torpedoes we're fired from land positions before. How long would it take to load them and let loose 🤔. Great to see the old railway track there two!!😎🐓🐓🐓🐓🇬🇧🇺🇦
Well i read somewhere around 11 minutes to get a new in there and fire. Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter thanks for that regards Chris!!🙂
