I love your videos. I drink my coffee every Saturday and go on walks with you. Only one thing - please, next time you see a cat, I’m going to need you to stop and pet the cat. They seem to be everywhere, lounging in the sun - what a life! 😹 Keep up the awesome work. ❤️ Thanks!
Yes, it's true. In sovana there are many cute cats. The local people feed them, they are included in the hight lights of the touristic tour ! Many years ago, I rescued in Sovana , a beautiful similar carthusian cat of about 2 months, She lived with me for 18 years!!! Died 2 years ago. Emilia was her name 💜😞
Hi Isaac, this is Dave, thank you for the lovely walk, Sovana is a quaint and beautiful little town, Via del Duomo is so beautiful, the town is very quiet and peaceful, Cathedral of San Pietro is so unique, these small little towns are worth a visit as they have so much history and character and also away from the touristic spots.
The castle at the beginning of the video was built by the Aldobrandeschi family around the year 1000 on top of the Etruscan ruins. The beautiful cathedral dates back to the 10th century and the paintings inside are from the period from the 16th to the 17th century and the baptismal font is from 1494. Ildebrando di Sovana was born in this town in an unknown year between 1015 and 1020, who was then elected pope in 1073 with the name of Gregory VII (one of the most important popes in the history of the church and named saint). The house where Pope Gregory VII was born, in via di Mezzo, is a building inside which there is a museum of fossil marine shells. Just before this museum there is a small shop of a craftsman who builds and sells wooden toys similar to those used from the Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century(you can see it at 16:46). There are excellent artisans who paint elaborate ornaments on plates and pottery, leather and wood craftsmen, a shop that only sells honey (lots of different types you can see it at 19:56) and many other interesting things to discover. Outside the town walls, at the foot of the hill on which there are the houses, there is an important and very interesting Etruscan necropolis where it is possible to visit the tomb of the Siren and the monumental Ildebranda tomb. Some of the olive trees seen in the film after the cathedral were already there when Christopher Columbus arrived in America.
I really enjoy watching your walk tour videos. To get even better, the subtitles could stay on for a little longer. Sometimes there is no time to read carefully. Keep up the awesome work. Thanks!
Hi Isaac😀Love the ground level experience. I really get a great idea of these beautiful lands you walk upon. Thanks so much for the work put into your videos👍

Obrigada.
I was very much gratified by your detailed exposition of the inside of the Romanesque church, or is it a cathedra: wooden ceiling, arches, stonework, iconography, the design of the crossing, niches, baldacchino, apse, the close up of the bishop sculpture, but also the grim state of the frescos’s art. Someone needs to finance a complete restoration of the fabulous but degraded interior. Nice flowers at @ 5:58.
Another beautiful video, thank you.. Sovana is really a charming village , listed as One of the most beautiful of Italy. I can suggest, if you want to take a tour in this area, to include Pitigliano, Sorano and the fantastic Etruscan necropolis and the Etruscan vie cave
Making our plans now for this coming winter. The 1st church reminds me of the round one in Perugia. Give me a small house here with a terrace and I would be very happy. Thanks again.

Excellent Enterprising Endeavour 🎉🙏 I felt like walking with your good selves. Best Videography. Beautiful small town setting. Thoroughly enjoyed. From India 💐🤝
Hello from Ohio. Thank you for the tour of this lovely city. In the beginning if the video I think you were limping. Hope all is well now. In the garden, are those Olive trees? It looked like a lot of work for one small mower to handle. Thank you again. And loved the drone footage.
I watch your videos a lot while working out and I have to say that with this one... (IMO obviously) you got a little too precious. I found myself saying a lot of 'keep moving, keep moving'. As soon as you got to the electric saw you slowed down too much, I think. Other than that, great work. You're generally one of the better walking/riding tour UA-cam channels.
Thank you for the video, it was a great experience. I really enjoy the aesthetic of your shots, would you mind sharing your GoPro video settings? Thank you!
ESPETACULAR. PARA MIM ESTE VÍDEO PROVA QUE , PARA DESENVOLVER TURISMO EM UMA CIDADE , NÃO NECESSITA GRANDES PRÉDIOS, LOCAIS ESPETACULARES. BASTA QUE O AMBIENTE DEIXE O TURISTA TRANQUILO , SENTINDO A VERDADE DO LOCAL, A LIMPEZA E O BOM ACOLHIMENTO. HISTÓRIA? TODO LUGAR TEM E DEVE SER MOSTRADA.
What a beautiful and charming village. I really enjoyed this tour today. I have a couple questions for you if that's ok. Are you a US or Canadian citizen? I am looking to move to Florence this fall so I am curious what kind of Visa you have and how long you have been in Italy. Does your Visa allow you to work or how do you support yourself while traveling? Or maybe you have an Elective Residency Visa? Any tips or advice on making the move to Italy would be very appreciated! Grazie! ❤🇮🇹

Very Beautiful, for only 122 people, that town seems it should have more people. Also sorry you still stuck, over here, we allowed to move about, some states have relaxed mandates, cause they never worked.
Hey David, first, thanks for becoming a member! I've been meaning to write and say thank you! How are things going on your end? I am just waiting to hear the word that we can drive outside of our own towns here. I'll hopefully have another walk posted up on Sunday of the Paris Catacombs. Just trying to stay busy here while I've got the time.

The new format that interrupts at the beginning to like the video and shows you how to do it on a TV we don't own, is really really annoying. I do hope you are reading your comments to hear this.
It was just an experiment..but the reasoning behind it is that 77% of my watch time is on TVs and only 10% of my views are from subscribers. I'm just trying to get those viewers to subscribe....but I'm hearing you.
