    Terence had a deeply pixie-like character true to his Celtic roots. He introduced me to DMT at Joshua Tree during a week-long desert gathering there that set the core of my life path. So very grateful for these UA-cam memories and his word-smithery. he was without a doubt one of the most intelligent, feral-hearted and funny men I've ever encountered. We bless his spirt by receiving his great gift with these tapes and I know he would have been amazed, puzzled, and grateful…>

    "The only thing I can preach is the felt presence of immediate experience. Which for me came through the psychedelics. Which are not drugs, but plants. It's a perversion of language to try and derail this thing into talk of drugs. There are spirits in the natural world that come to us in this way. And so far as I can tell, this is the ONLY way that they come to us that is rapid enough for it to have an impact upon us as a global population." - Terence Mckenna

    Terrence McKenna- I have an obsessive need to create a certain kind of a closure💯

    • @urielbaeza1
      @urielbaeza1 4 роки тому +9

      I am an extension of his way of thinking as I'm sure a lot of other people as well. I find everything under the sun and beyond fascinating and worth discussing. I also look for way of closure in the sense of wrapping it all up and putting a bow on it by linking everything together. When he said that he didn't understand Buddhism, I think it's irrelevant because in a sense he came to the same conclusion just worded in his own way and that is, the very secretive and esoteric Tantric concept that Tilopa spoke about and Osho dissected and explained beautifully which to put simply is that loose and natural is the way. Thoughts are just thoughts, abstraction with unknown origins and no home to go to except the minds of those that cling to them which in turn leads to possession of the mind by these thoughts. "The only thing I can preach about is felt presence by immediate experience". With an empty mind and a totally removed identification from all thoughts and emotions, the experiencer and experience merge into one, the drop in the endless sea, the endless sea in the drop, that is that felt presence which Terrence is talking about in my opinion, Divinity.

    • @stockwars4727
      @stockwars4727 4 роки тому +2

      @@urielbaeza1 That's exactly it , the energy and the form exerting the energy cannot be seperate. In other words what the esoteric religions of the east identified as God or in my words the creator and the creation is one . Mystical experience of enlightenment is rooted in this understanding , not just intellectually but also as what Terrence McKenna would put it as " the felt presence of immediate experience" or the primacy of experience over mere knowledge.

    • @urielbaeza1
      @urielbaeza1 4 роки тому +2

      @@stockwars4727 Yes. There is something to be said and elaborated on which Academia and Science for the most part fails to realize or discuss and that is like you said the primacy of experience over mere knowledge. I believe the basis of that experience is rooted in the naturally blissful and creative state, I think society today, in the west at least, is based on simply acquiring information and applying it in a disciplined and rigid way. I think maybe if we were more inclusive and based all our teachings in a more natural and loose manner with the fundamental truths of oneness and love, people would be able to comprehend esoteric concepts and common sense would be elevated beyond belief.

      @@urielbaeza1 Love the community and absolutely you are right , In my opinion education in the twilight of the 21st century should be about being receptive to the free flow of triangulated information to experience synchronicity at its undiluted form and not about fueling an already burning information centric culture.

  • @Kid_Ikaris

    Terrance is constantly reaffirming the necessity of taking psychedelics to unlock certain insights. But interestingly enough he's doing this in a context where there is not yet such a thing as globally available Terrance McKenna lectures on the internet. As someone who both spent a lot of middle school listening to Terrance and a lot of highschool/early adulthood taking psychedelics, I think both are valid paths to the same understanding. Taking psychedelics is your birthright as a child of nature, but you don't need any of that to see how interconnected and vast our world really is. You just need an open mind, a guide, a couple of sense organs, and nature itself. If there's any young people reading this remember to be safe, take care, and pay close attention to the practical advice of the psychonauts that came before you. Nature Loves Courage, but Nature Also Loves Prudence.
