Does the valve let the water get absorbed all the way until the tray is dry? If yes a drainage layer shouldn't be needed in the pots, right?

@@autopotuk I do a lot of home cooking. I’m forever buying those little bags of parsley and thyme etc.
I was thinking of an 80x80 tray with 9 plants in 3 litre pots. Or could I use rockwool 4-6 inch cubes?

@@mr.thegreat557 It's entirely possible to use the easy2GO with these plants and either pots or Rockwool cubes. Our customers and our R&D growers have done it successfully many, many times producing lovely fresh herbs in the process.
However, if using pots, cubes, and plants of this size with easy2GO it's essential that you also use a CocoMat in the tray beneath the pots/cubes. These coco coir and natural latex mats act as a wick to steadily irrigate your pots or cubes, ensuring small plants aren't overwhelmed.

The mats are available in two sizes and can easily be cut to the shape of your tray. Simply cut out a rectangle in the corner of the CocoMat to allow for your easy2GO to sit in the tray. Make sure there's a sufficiently sized cut out to allow your easy2GO to sit flat on the tray without the wall of the tray lifting the easy2GO by its pipe. Another way around the pipe-wall lifting issue is the 9mm elbow bar - see link below:

The CocoMat bundle also includes a root control sheet. We strongly recommend the use of root control with CocoMat.
Finally, if growing with pots always ensure they are perforated on the underside to allow for uptake.
