The thing with Tim Bowness is that he takes you to another world like no other musician, I really have never experienced with other musicians how he makes me feel in all my 60 years. Steve Wilson also does this but when the two of them get together its just mind blowing. The video is so simple and the girl so beautiful without the trappings of the bullshit music industry...
just like me, I only know him from No-Man and have thought it is a beautiful voice for years, but never bothered to listen to his work until now. What a great song and music
tim bowness is such a singer.i met him twice. He is a such nice man.........underatted artist..........people love dumb music.now........his music are the decorum of my life........sometimes when i feel like a character of samuel beckett ?i play his tunes.i'm not alone anymore. a french guy
I like Tim’s work outside No-Man more that Steven Wilson’s, although I got acquainted with Tim’s music after I got into Porcupine Tree and No-Man. With his solo work Tim proved that he was unjustly overshadowed by Steven. Saw him live just once when he opened day 3 of 2017 of Marillion Weekend. And I was thinking that Tim deserved to be a headline act!
Just come randomly over the song sing to me, and just love his work.. Possible it has something to do with the fact that we were born in the same year 63 :-)
El puente sobre el tráfico The bridge over the traffic Conversaciones después del anochecer Conversations after dark Caminatas sin fin y caminos a ninguna parte Endeless walks and roads to nowhere Rostros no iluminados en parques cerrados Non-lit faces in closed parks La forma en que te miró, recuerda The way she looked at you, remember ¿Qué te puede hacer recordar esto? What this can make you to recall Las rápidas defensas y el temperamento The quick defences and the temper No te molesté en absoluto Didn't bother you at all Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Éramos soñadores al margen We were dreamers on the sidelines Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Buscando magia en las palabras de otra persona Seeking magic in somebody else's words El frío de finales de verano en tu piel Late summer chill on your skin Y la luz comienza a desvanecerse And the light begins to fade Semáforos y supermercados superados Passed traffic lights and supermarkets Pasaste las calles donde sentiste miedo Passed the streets were you've felt afraid Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Éramos soñadores al margen We were dreamers on the sidelines Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Buscando a megic en las palabras de otra persona Seeking megic in somebody else's words La forma en que te miró, recuerda The way she looked at you, remember Lo que esto puede hacerte recordar What this can make you to recall Tada tada ta da Tada tada ta da Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Éramos soñadores al margen We were dreamers on the sidelines Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Cántame ella dijo Sing to me she said Buscando magia en los mundos de otra persona Seeking magic in somebody else's worlds La forma en que te miró, recuerda The way she looked at you, remember ¿Qué te puede hacer recordar esto?

Her eyes are Soooooooo big. Is that an effect? I think it may be a mistake to tie the model to the song with the video because without it the song is more personal. Better as just music. This song is very David Bowie -esque ...
So this song together with Tim Bowness has the touch of Steven Wilson, what a combo I tought he said: Sing to me, she said but nope it seems it turns out to be Sing to me Joseph Sing to me, Joseph you are a dreamer on the side line Sing to me Joseph x 2 Seakin’ magic in somebody else world
+Drevilrodrigues The lyrics are: The bridge over the traffic, Conversations after dark; Endless walks on roads to nowhere, Moonlit faces in closed parks. The way she looked at you remembered, What this could make you do recalled. The quick defences and the temper Didn’t bother you at all. “Sing to me,” she said. You were dreamers on the sidelines Seeking magic in somebody else’s world. Late Summer chill on your skin, And the light begins to fade: Pass traffic lights and supermarkets; Pass the streets where you felt afraid. “Sing to me,” she said. You were dreamers on the sidelines Seeking magic in somebody else’s world. The way she looked at you remembered, What this could make you do recalled.
+mrkinski oh, in fact that was what I always heard, sing to m, she said, but the only lyrics i found, propbably wrong wouldn't be the first time, said Joseph lool. thanks for the correction
The lyrics say "sing to me, she said". That's from the album sleeve: 4.bp.blogspot.com/-25IdYpi8Ozo/VbIyEBevXJI/AAAAAAAAtSg/N3tHA_V11jQ/s1600/IMG_1423.JPG
So now there are no more mistakes, the lyrics are like in the album booklet, and sing to me, she said was what made more sense to me since the beginning. thank you
Tim is a fantastic composer and lyricist. I love his music! But I am not crazy about this video. These women (in my understanding) look broken, hopeless and dare I say "on some kind of substance" or abused. They look like they've been hurt in some way. As a longtime No-Man and Bowness fan, I know that this video lines up with his other work and I think Tim is trying to capture the vulnerability of this song. That being said, it just gets a little depressing seeing these kind of "women" or should I say "models" being glorified in their vulnerable, broken state. These women aren't to be "glorified" but protected. That's just my two cents. Love the song though! Good work Tim!
+Heaventaste S totally agree with you on this one. Tim is outstanding and I follow him & his music profusely. This album is a work of art. The video doesn't cut it. Sorry Tim.
+Heaventaste S ... for one thing it's the same woman through the whole video and I think the emotion she expresses with just her eyes and the shaping of her mouth is brilliant and heart-breaking... I think the video suits the song wonderfully, it doesn't overplay or drown the song but accents the melody beautifully, just my opinion.
Broken, hopeless, abused AND on substances? I've seen a lot of broken, hopeless people on a lot of different substances and they look nothing like the person in this video. I think there are a few emotional states hiding behind those eyes than you are not considering. She could be feeling melancholic, or missing someone. The bridge over the traffic conversations after dark endeless walks and roads to nowhere non-lit faces in closed parks the way she looked at you, remember what this can make you to recall the quick defences and the temper didn't bother you at all sing to me she said sing to me she said we were dreamers on the sidelines sing to me she said sing to me she said seeking magic in somebody else's words
Hard to believe this music gets such little notice. This guy is fantastic!
I really wish SW would take a break from his solo career and work on a new No-man album with Tim.
It will happen again I am sure. They work well together no man are an amazing band if you ask me!
Let's say, that he is (counting his involvement into No Man project) the victim of Porcupine Tree success ;).
progbc WELL SAID! OMG!
So true.

Try Talk Talk. Their 1988 and 1991 releases. If you like Schoolyard Ghosts, you’ll enjoy those by Talk Talk as well
so true...
Beautiful song.
Criminally underrated
What a song - what an album!
For me, these new songs belong to the best in 2015.
Tim, i wish you all the best - go on.
The song is great - but man, what a beautiful woman
This is my first encouter with TBs solowork (outside of No-Man) and I'm blown away. Wow, what a great song!!!
just like me, I only know him from No-Man and have thought it is a beautiful voice for years, but never bothered to listen to his work until now.
What a great song and music
An extraordinarily beautiful song, and an extraordinarily beautiful girl . . . Cheers!

Maybe Tim's best song... Great!
Great songs, great album! Highly recommended!
Oh my God... Perfect!
FFS where has this song been in my life... what a voice.
Una canción que no me agota escuchar. Es épicamente conmovedora.

Passed traffic lights and supermarkets

Passed the streets were you've felt afraid

In an alternate universe, Marillion does this.
New record from Tim, just arriving....I am really expecting something special!!!
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
