Tango and Foxtrot in Weimar Berlin

- A much edited scene from the 1928 G.W. Pabst film "Abwege". In addition to a general sense of Weimar German decadence and excess, typical 1920s Foxtrot and Tango can be seen in considerable detail. As much as I appreciate the artistry of the film making, I am using it primarily for dance history
Music:
Tango: Eine Nacht in Monte Carlo: Marek Weber und seinem Orchester
Foxtrot: Arpaneetta Robert Gaden und seinem Orchester
Foxtrot: Ungaarwein: Barnabas von Geczy und seinem Orchester
Tango: Ich Weiss so Viel von dir Elizabeth: Fritz Weber und seinem Orchester
Foxtrot: Gruss und Kuss Veronika: Weintraubs - Розваги
Cuando cuidar la línea, vestirse bien, peinarse y maquillarse con esmero eran algo normal y no una excepción.
So kool!!!!
This club looks like fun 😄💜
The lady in 1:30 isn’t her the same Maschinemensch of Metropolis? Oh yes that devious smile at 2:50 !
I was thinking the same thing!! Gosh, Brigitte Helm is exciting.
Thanks for the "Gipsy Wine"!❤😅
beautiful men in 20s
Awesome - very tantalizing!
Love this, those clubs were fantastic. A place with a wonderful dance floor, and live orchestra. Where are those today? We sure don't have them , at least where I live. There use to be a Dance Studio, where they taught The Tango, Fox Trot, Waltz etc. but it closed for lack of intrest. We aren't very cultured here. I enjoy your videos, Thank You really enjoy them.

What is the name of the first number. A German tango, I've sometimes heard and love but would love to hear more of it.
Found it, thank you UA-cam.
All the pieces are listed in the info blurb under the video - in case you were looking for any of the others
And, thank you Walter Nelson. When all else fails read the label!!
What’s “decadent” about these dance scenes?
The drug use primarily
Looks great fun! If you compare this to The Triumph of the will, with its endlessly tedious marching and saluting, it's tragic to think what was destroyed. How Germany went from freedom and openness to closed, puritanical fanaticism in a few years.
In 1929 it all came crashing down. Then, like a vulture, Hitler swooped in.
Too much Schnapps!
Hmm, bourgeois democracy is better than fascism!
