I agree, can't wait for my Aspire 5 to arrive... Walmart is pushing the Aspire 3 in stor... luckily, I did a quick research before buying and realized the Aspire 5 (online) costs a little but more than the Aspire 3 and I decided to order online... nice review.

Great review, but I would argue that the SD card is more important than 30 minutes extra battery life, which would technically give the point lead to HP. That being said, I don't think all categories should be weighted equally. So, on an equal numbers scoring methodology, the HP would win.

All I needed to do was get an SD card reader that plugs into the USB-C port on the laptop. Not a deal breaker - just a bit annoying having an adapter hanging off the laptop.

So, with the Acer Aspire 5, with the 4gb of ram soldered to the board, you can't go higher than a 4gb memory stick, to make the memory run in dual channel? So, potentially, only a max of 8gb, can run in dual channel? This doesn't seem very practical,especially if you get an AMD/Radeon based machine, since the Radeon graphics performs better with dual channel ram.

I'm having the same problem in deciding which laptop to buy. Where I live the lenovo laptops are usually cheaper but the difference between aspiire 5 and ideapad 5 isn't that big. Firstly lenovos build quality isn't as good since its plastic mostly but the screen is a bit brighter with 300 nits as opposed to acers 260 nits. I might go with the lenovo but I haven't made the final decision yet. Hope you can recommend me which one to buy if u already bought one of them.
@@muhammadnasr7043 I picked lenovo and I can assure you that it's a great purchase. Mine has 16gb of soldered ram (3200Mhz), 512gb ssd, 300 nits IPS display and that sweet ryzen 5500u. I paid close to 700 euros on sale in Croatia. Only downside for me is that it has no ethernet port and not a single USB-A port on the left side. Oh and I almost forgot it has a 72Wh battery which lasts for almost a whole day depending on the use. All in all I definetly recommend Lenovo Idepad 5 but only if it suits your needs.
Where is the fingerprint sensor in Acer Aspire 5? I find models on the internet, one with a fingerprint reader on its mousepad, the other does not have one just like the one in this video so I wonder where the fingerprint reader is?

I dont know about the Acer but the HP is very tempremental, its actually irritating me at the moment, it used to be quite quick, then it would become uselessly slow, then a usb port would become unusable and all of a sudden work just fine, i have installed windows over and over even tried win11 with the same nonsense, im tired of this crap, just re-installed win 10 cause 11 full of issues on this machine, very conflicted laptop, maybe mine is a lemon!
Yeah HP laptops work great at first, but they aren’t too reliable in the long run. I had a 2016 HP 15 that I got in late 2017, and it broke down after two and a half years of use. And the screen has some dead pixels. HP and other windows laptops have had these issues for about two decades. Not as reliable as MacBooks are.
im currently using an HP laptop as well and the first day i got it it had major keyboard delay and now i have to tape the screen together so it doesnt fall off. not hating on hp but it has only been a year since a bought this laptop so yes i am actually hating on HP.

hi, are there any issues for display colours when you used this? seems a little yellowish on mine. i've done color calibrating and even reinstalled the driver.
For I'm not favor with acer.. I'm always look to the ram capacity and processors, for me the display of hp is not really issue at all.. it's good.. but compared to aspires 5 with low ram upgrade to a low power ram is not good.. My choice is hp 🤣

I honestly don't get how you can not need an ethernet port. With Gigabit internet plans you would not even use half of your connection speeds on WiFI.
