I don't know what country has a 1K difference b/w 8 and a 6, but i can't imagine an upgrade of 2 inches is worth 1K, just go with a 6 inch for now and save up money to possibly get a 10 inch or what have you later on
I’m kinda new to this, I just bought the same telescope and I was wondering what additional accessory (eye piece or whatever you used), in order to get that zoom that you got in 2:26?
I don’t know about the specific eyepiece, but you may want to look into a 2x barlow lens. It will double the power of any eye piece you own, essentially doubling your eye piece collection.
Don’t use a Barlow. Spend money to get a good eyepiece. The highest magnification you can go with the Sky-Watcher 6” before it gets blurry is 300x magnification. I recommend you to get a 4-6mm eyepiece. Preferably a Goldline or a TMB on aliexpress. They’re called SVBony Goldlines and Astromania 58 Degree Planetary Eyepieces on Amazon. They’re all the same eyepiece either way and are manufactured in the same warehouse but are sold on Amazon for more expensive prices for the same exact quality. You are looking to spend around 20-40 dollars though.
I’m new to the astronomy field. I was wondering, what eyepiece is needed for you to be able to see the moon clearly? I have a celestron evolution 6 (150 in aperture); I have a 40mm eyepiece, but it’s zoomed in way too much. What eyepiece is recommended for me to be able to see the moon clearly?
If you want more 'zoom' in your object you need an eyepiece with a smaller focal distante. I have a 25mm and a 10mm, i can see the whole moon with the 25mm and the 10mm gives more approximation, or a bigger image of the moon which makes it look 'closer'.

Hey :) ,,dobsonian" is referring to the way the tube is mounted, usually tubes on dobsonian mounts are Newtonian telescopes (which just describes the way the tube is built, with what kind of mirrors etc.).
RareChip orion is a very good brand of telescopes. The magnification you get when seeing through the telescope depends on the primary mirror focal distance and the eyepiece you use.
You have to decrease the camera's exposure settings to reduce the amount of light it captures. You can decrease the ISO setting, increase the shutter speed, or increase the f/stop.
I am too late to the party, I just started. You might want to buy a RC-6 IR remote control. It will allow you to record without having to touch the camera.
It's pretty easy to access that information online. I'm sure you think you believe that the Moon landings were faked because you did "lots" of research.
Hi. I'm looking to buy a 1000mm or 1200mm bresser telescope. At 13 seconds. The moon size in your gr8 movie frame. Is this using prime focus.? Or did you use an eye piece. I would like to see how close I can get to the lunar surface to take clear photos. I have a canon 760d.
I just got myself a skywatcher skp1145eq1 telescope I saw the moon with it and wow was so Beautiful and bright and my need to buy better eyepieces though only came with 2x Barlow lends and super 10mm eyepiece and tired looking at Jupiter couldn't see it
This particular video was shot with a 6" Newtonian at F/6.6. So you have a focal length of 600 I suppose ;-) You will have to adjust for the speed, but you should be able to get some decent footage.
Was this in a dark sky area, I can't believe how clear this is for a 6" reflector. How did you setup the SLR? I've got the same camera and a T ring adapter and it just screws onto the focuser. Is this how you did it to get focus?
yes, i just adjust the focuser using the zoom in live view function in the camera. this is not a dark sky area, the video was recordes in my backyard in urban area, so there is light pollution but it doesnt affect much in the sharpness because the moon is a bright object

Great visibility of the moon, I'm thinking about buying this specific telescope. These days I'm using Meade 70 and would like to upgrade.
it's a nice telescope!
I've a Meade Polaris 130mm. Please have a look at my attempt of moon and planets.
