I just bought a gorgeous all genuine leather backpack-style handbag in black that I just adore ... it has so many compartments! And the pure leather is sooooo soft that the whole bag kinda slouches ... but it was $*198 Australian Dollars (*about $ 250 US Dollars!) I felt so guilty for a month but I truly love it! I'd had only one black leather crossover handbag for TEN YEARS which did double duty for both day and night wear, and it's still in perfectly new condition for night wear! So there you go, it does pay to purchase the best quality leather bag you can afford. But I wouldn't recommend it if variety is more your thing. I prefer to just pick a neutral black or navy or charcoal colour in quality leather that will go with the majority of outfit my wardrobe and then buy comfortable leather heels and pumps as well as a pair of casual sandals to match the bag .. it works for me. They had Guess handbags there for AU$450 but they're not even leather! You're just paying for the brand label, which is just bull crap...they'd never still look brand new after wearing it day in and day out for10 years like my trusty Valenti crossover! It's been an amazingly good buy Thanks for showing us what's trending in the US! I've only heard of Calvin Klein and Michael whatsit, but that doesn't mean the others don't exist here.
I agree with the labeling thing, I've seen clear vinyl bags that are like $100 just because of the name on them. They look like dollar store bags lol. I do plan to eventually get a new bag, I have had this Rebecca Minkoff Julian Backpack for a few years now and am just in a cross body mood now lol. It will be a nice one because I don't change bags very often :)
