The ai minecraft example isn't about replacing games in my opinion. It's merely very impressive just how many game mechanics it can recreate, i.e. nether portals. Also, above all else, it feels like surrealist art. You look away, turn back, and the landscape is entirely different. Just like how a human's mind cobbles strange things together into a nonsensical world, the ai does the same in what might be a very similar process.
