  • Well we couldn't record reactions and NOT do a BTS video! So here we are with our reaction to BTS performing their song "I'm Fine" live on Music Bank Comeback. The guys performed great, as usual, and the song itself was a banger!

Kpop groups, when promoting typically perform the same song at several if not all of the Music shows in the same week. When BTS does this each stage has a different look. Below is a link to their M Countdown performance. This performance begins with Save Me.
      ua-cam.com/video/t3ot5h9c8MI/v-deo.html
Save Me and I’m Fine are calligraphy written as an Ambrigram - An ambigram is a word or words that can be read in more than one direction, where the word reads the same when upside down or turn over to form an entirely new word.
At 1:51 in video Save Me appears in the background and rotates to I’m Fine.

I’m fine and Idol are both tracks on the Love Yourself Answer album (2018). In addition to I’m Fine, they also performed Idol (album’s title track), on the 20180831 Music Bank program and it won first place
Here for you leisure viewing, is a link to their win announcement and their encore performance. Bts has had some quite memorable encores.
      enjoy - ua-cam.com/video/bGz3c67n_VY/v-deo.html

I wish you react to "Spring Day MV" and "Spring Day Explained" because there are lots of things to learn about our life:)

So "I'm Fine" is sort of like an inversion of "Save Me". They usually perform the first verse and hook of Save Me live, then switch the letters upside down and start I'm Fine, and it's really cool to see.

Since you've already reacted to the song, maybe check out their Save me + I'm Fine stage on the MGA (2018) in your own time, if you can? It was pretty well done :)

For the future, please could you react to concert live performances rather than music show/music bank ones like this which are designed for tv? The concert ones are so much better!

Music programs in South Korea are broadcast weekly, with different artists performing on the shows to promote their music.
South Korea's largest broadcasting companies each have their own weekly show, which are broadcast on different channels.
    SBS - Inkigayo (every sunday)
KBS - Music Bank (every friday)
MBC - Show! Music Core (every saturday)
Mnet - M Countdown (every thursday)
MBC Music - Show Champion (every wednesday)
SBS MTV - The Show (every tuesday)
A crucial element of each music program in South Korea is that every program has a voting system. Each program has different ways to count the votes and decide the winning artist of the week, so the possibilities of an artist winning is different for every program.
It took BTS almost 2 years to win their first music show with “I Need U” on May 5, 2015.
BTS currently holds the record for most awarded song with "Boy with Luv", released April 12, 2019. The song won the first-place award for a total of 21 times, and they just tied this record today with Dynamite’s 21st win on Show! Music Core today.

As far as I know, the BigHit staff are the ones who organise the stage!! They're really good at it. I've seen some BTS members make suggestions and improvements in a few Bangtan Bombs (their UA-cam content) so it's likely a combined effort

Some other performances of this song start with a little part of Save me song and then they switch (you can check it in your spare time too). Also the IM FINE phrase thats writen in the background is actually an ambigram of SAVE ME.

Thank you! I've requested for this. In this performance, prior to "I'm Fine", BTS performed "Save Me" and they showed the "Save Me" words flipping to "Im Fine'.

If you want to listen to more bts: you can watch concert videos with English subtitles. Some good songs are:
    - Euphoria
    - Anpanman
    - Not today
    - or you can watch their title medley they do!

You're not wrong about hearing the audience when Suga starts rapping-actually, if you listen closely enough, you'll probably hear the crowd reacting to more parts of the song. Most Kpop "title songs" (or, in western terms, lead singles) are accompanied by a "fan chant," which is a call-and-response cheer that the fans in the crowd will do to participate with the group as they perform. For many groups, the most basic chant is the names of the members in rapid succession during a dance break. For BTS, you'll hear it often in the instrumental intros (say, "DNA") or in the case of "Save Me," two bars in the middle of the song: "Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook, BTS!" Otherwise, there are set cheers to go along with the song-here, it's understood to chant with Suga when he starts his verses, "I'm so fine, you so fine." In the case of BTS, these are created by ARMY, but other groups will release official chants-some, like BTS cousin group SEVENTEEN, even have little bits of choreography to do with a light stick! ua-cam.com/video/ejzMOzLFids/v-deo.html

I love this song it always helps me to feel stronger no matter what is going on, it also helped my friend a little bit to feel stronger when she was trying to get out of an abusive relationship. So I’m grateful of it for that too it was a very hard time on both of us.

They surely have input in the stage production 🥺 not all bc they are busy 😅 and they pay people yo. But if they think something would improve the performance they voice it and are adamant about changes. I respect that about them but also the amazing group of stage artist they have in their team. They collab with amazing people

Big Hit have in-house stylists, grooming crew, creative and stage divisions, canera crew, etc They employ some of the best in the respective fields and I believe many of them have been with Big Hit/BTS from the beginning

So a comeback in kpop is what they call every album release and the promotions that go with it. Music bank is a Korean music show.

u should react to "decalcomania", from jungkook, it's a song for himselff, "Anpanman" from the whole group, and "Illegal/Dimple" from de vocal line (Jin, Jimin, Tae, Jungkook).

For some reason, the original 2018 videos for BTS on Jimmy Fallon are no longer on UA-cam. I LOVE the "I'm Fine" performance on this smaller stage as it really captures the intense choreo and vocals: ua-cam.com/video/hJ_M3inwkao/v-deo.html
    Definitely worth a watch! 💜

“Save Me” and “I’m Fine” are usually performed together (when written out is an ambigram) used to address depression and anxiety, and it's like having a secret message and illusion, because people can say to others “I'm fine" but in reality that person internally doesn’t feel that way and should be saved at all costs “Save Me”.

    • @courtneykoska1413
      @courtneykoska1413 3 роки тому +1

Yes, and there are so many allusions to depression, or at least the feeling of being numb and detached in I'm Fine ("my cold heart has forgotten how to call you" gets me everytime 🥺)
