- Vid Clip of Wang Li Ping from the Lu Shan Wu Dang Chang San Feng Ziran Pai. For long periods of his life, Wang lived in the Wudang mountain - seeking perfection. His performance of the "Wudang three treasures" Taiji in this vid are imo - truly excellence...One can see moves from all the later major TaiJi styles later derived from Wudang, incl Bagua and XinYi..
He may not be the dragon gate 18th gen lineage holder, but he is still dope, and I wish he could be my shifu
This is NOT Wang Liping from the book, Opening the Dragon Gate

Truly spectacular..regardless of his name / identity. The movements and rhythm are so natural. Personally (or is it my inexperience) I find it hard to understand why mainstream taichi like yang/wu/sun etc must be practiced/performed in super slow motion. Seems to make more sense to practice/perform at one's natural speed according to physical ability. What does everyone else think?
There are 4 speeds.. honey, honey-water, water, and crushing water. Each speed must be mastered and any imperfections corrected before proceeding to the next.
+Ching Shao It took 2yrs to hear a response, but your absolutely right....
In regards to speed, Chen style Taiji was never practiced slow or fast continuously. There was always variations in speed. After Yang Lu Chan, Taijiquan was watered down by it's predecessors, and slowed down almost completely. They slowed down the form and removed the martial significance, to confuse people that thought they were learning authentic Taiji. The family styles we have today are the results of this misguided teaching. But, the Masters always hinted at the authentic movements, training and internal power, in the Taiji classics. Move like a cat, chi flows through the body like a nine curved pearl. Can you see it? The movements are continuous, flowing, eternal, and infinite. The internal energy, is full, encompassing, overwhelming, expanding and retracting. Can you move without moving? Can you see in the dark with your eyes shut, feel it without touching anything? How can you hear the sound of your own breath, with all the distractions of the world?
As a trained dancer, (who wasn't very talented to start with!) I can attest to the value of practicing physical movement slowly. It gives the mind time to slow down and focus fully on the core principles of the movements. Slow practice even allows the body space and time to instinctively auto correct. Unfortunately, these lessons i learned too late, but it's given me an even greater appreciation of their value. From a student's perspective I value a slow practice even if it's not traditional tai chi. I think it builds a solid, reliable foundation for varying the rhythm or speeding things up later!

Not Wang Liping. I have studied with WLP in Dalian
How to study with him? Does he only speak in chinese? The Dragon Gate master.
@@innerdaomethod He does only speak Chinese, yes. But if you search studying with WLP there are a couple groups that take people to study with him, and a translator is there. It works very well...
@@joscofe Are there any videos of WLP on YT? Specifically looking for self defense application.
