I think it's perfectly fine to prefer one game over the other. Minecraft is great and I appreciate the game. I've played it quite a bit. But I prefer Dragon Quest Builders. I like the RPG elements, art style, and sense of purpose. I enjoy it more than Minecraft and haven't touched Minecraft in ages. Others may feel completely differently. And that's cool, too.
Wood's gonna flip his lid when he discovers Creative Mode in Minecraft. His mind will also be blown once he stops using a pick axe to mine dirt and uses a shovel instead.
I'm impressed that he doesn't know that creative mode exists in Minecraft since Minecraft has been around for so long, has he not looked at reviews or anything else about Minecraft?
Even with creative mode, Minecraft doesn't have much to offer. Two different games but imo they've learned some lessons Mojang are still working on. Nice they incorporate more mods and mobs into the vanilla game but *shrug*... Used to play MC for years.
I don't think Wood would like Creative mode tbh. When you compare it to DQB2, MC creative is not nearly as user friendly. You saw all the different building tools there was in DQB2 right? Creative mode is pretty bare-bone when compared to that imho.
Minecraft has a ton more block types, biomes, things that can be built, and barely any limitations. DQB2 has villagers who have jobs and a sense of society, an RPG story that takes center stage. In the end, those things about DQB2 are what make it more appealing to me, despite the limitations. I love creating stuff and watching my villagers use them.
I saw you videos on dragon quest builders 2 and started playing and now I am a dragon quest builders fan. lol Still like minecraft but to me they still, feel very different.
I just bought a physical copy of the second one and skipped the first one. I dont feel like i am lost or anything by skipping the first game. But if you have that need to play them in order you can get the first one then get the second one later.
@@keithpalacios9417 Depends, do you think that you'll play both, then start with the first. The second one is a serious improvement on the first one, but the first one is still a lot of fun. Probably not as much fun if you played the second one first. Storywise, you're not missing anything if you jump into the second one first, they are not related (besides sharing the same world, kind of). If you played the first, you get one extra headgear in the second, if you finished the first, you get an extra recipe in the second. That's about everything to keep in mind.
@@driesvandenbrande2941 Suppose you're right. I did buy Super Mario Maker 2 and never played the 1st one either. Never had a Wii U so that's probably why. Lol. It is 50 bucks for the first one. You would think it would be cheaper. If it was 20 bucks or so, I wouldn't think twice. But it's like buying 2 $60 games. I might as well save those 50 bucks for a new game. I definitely want to get Spyro Remastered in about a week and change.
At first I thought this will not end well. But you handled the video really well. Also a little tip. In the settings of DQB2 on page 4 there are options to make the windows appear at the border of the water and you can also enable to see the water effects through windows. :)
And don't get discouraged while visiting other islands. The one with the many pink colors was made by a japanese builder who had 8 months to make this (which it probably took by the looks of it^^)
I played Minecraft for a while and eventually kinda gave up on it. It was pretty tedious for me, and I didn't really enjoy mining for hours on end to get the materials I wanted. I also don't have the imagination and patience for large builds. I very much like Dragon Quest Builders 2, and am currently playing through that. I very much prefer the directed experience, and I don't mind the "hand holding" as I don't have much time to play games these days anyways. I do miss the redstone from Minecraft, though - I liked doing things in redstone.
Did you gave up long time ago? Nowadays you don't have to just be mining to get materials. You can find a good amount of iron and even diamond by just exploring and finding treasures chests and village's chests.
@@UmatsuObossa You could say that anything you build in DQB2 you can build in Minecraft but more aesthetically pleasing as well. Personally I think the DQB2 look is too cluttered and there is too much detail in each block that it is overwhelming to look at. To me, DQB2 builds always look like a collage of random stuff.
Ever since your video of how you’re addicted to this game, I have wanted it so badly. But being a broke college student, I had to wait. I bought it a few weeks ago and I’m addicted. I’ve been depressed lately and this game makes me want to get up out of bed, sounds silly. But thank you.
Been playing minecraft for almost 7 years now, and have also been addicted to dqb2. And I just wanna say that dqb2 is the game that minecraft should've been in terms of building.
TheAngryPikachu it’s just that it seems people don’t know creative mode exists. don’t get me wrong, builders is great and i’m having so much fun playing but the point being made was about the building when you can do the same in creative
To put things into perspective, if you want to build a roof in minecraft you need to build them out of staircase blocks. Yes, dqb2 is way better for building and creative mode doesnt save minecraft from that criticism. Dqb2 has a huge variety of blocks and minecraft is so limited in that regard.
Yeah and in minecraft I don’t have the patience to get the Ressources and in builders you have unlimited resources ( I’m talking about survival i prefer survival since making things there actually has a use)
I've played minecraft for years and I'm really considering getting dragon quest builders. I have an issue with imagination and sometimes on minecraft I just brainfart and feel overwhelmed and don't know what I want to do. I think I'd like a story to follow :)
@@benjaminandrews956 Yes there is. you need to get to the End and beat the dragon then the credits roll and Minecraft has its ending. sure you get to go back in and re spawn the dragon and look for all 8 end citys but credits roll after you beat the dragon and minecraft has an ending. lots of games like GTA, Watch Dogs, Saints Row Ect... all have an ending and still let you back in the world to do whatever you missed or to just have fun and they are considered to have an ending. So yes the true ending for a Mindcraft Player is to Beat the Dragon at least Once.
3:00 That blueprint was made by BenXC. He is mainly a Dragon Quest Builders 2 channel and he has many helpful tips. I wish you would have credited him in the video with his Builder ID at least. I just want to make sure he gets the credit he deserves for being so incredibly helpful
Theyre both about building. Minecraft is about surviving and building/crafting. The building in minecraft is a lot better tbh. Especially if you know how to use blocks properly.
@@Unlimi-PT there's no such thing as "objectively better", what's better for you might not be the best for other people, it depends on what you value more. I agree that Minecraft allows for more possibilities, it offers more in terms of creating your own stuff, with several different functions, if something I agree it's objectively more complex and intricate. But not all people are about that, some people actually prefer a story mode with quests to follow, survival games are not for everyone, some people also actually prefer that their characters and creations don't just look like blocks. It's two games with two very different purposes.
I always felt overwhelmed in Minecraft. So much available to do I never knew where to start! I'm not super creative so without friends to play with I never played very long. It was super fun with friends but for solo play I prefer DQB2.
Dragon quest builders 2 I love more because the fundamentals are improved on when compared to Minecraft. And it has a story with interesting characters(Something Minecraft doesn’t have).
Honestly you’d have to be playing the OG definitive version of minecraft. The java edition. Theres so much more it feels like and there are texture packs and mods and so much
I spend so much more time on the Nintendo Switch Edition then bedrock edition. It's more designed for console play and it looks and feels better imo. It sucks that new players can't get that version and that it no longer updates. Wood should play it on PS4 so he can have the full console experience as well as the bedrock.
And he really shouldn't be worrying about mods at all. For starters Minecraft is just fine on its own and he has less than 20 hrs on the game let him get to know it first
@@IronCaptain bedrock is the universal console version as well as the windows 10 version. You can also have java simultaneously on windows 10 so I mean PC for the win. Honestly though I just switched to a much better computer and while I can't pass up the exclusives and special features of consoles, if a game is on PC I'm getting it on PC, and even on both the switch and PC if I feel like it
Brayray727 it is man, 100% better than Minecraft way more options you feel so restricted in Minecraft compared to dragon quest builders, I love both games I’ve played Minecraft since the alpha but I love the freedom in dqb2
It is a very enjoyable game- -For the first 100 hours. Eventually you will run out of enjoyment because you will return to the overall better game. I played both, and I will say that it is enjoyable, so give it a try. But be warned that it is targeted to a younger audience, so there isn't much of a difficulty to anything.
The first time i saw minecraft, i didn’t really wanna play it. As to when i first saw dqb, the game looked so much fun. Maybe its because of the graphics. I prefer dqb’s graphics than that of minecraft.
@Toshown Roberts frames only suffer when you go to another person island loaded with items. Other wise game is fine. Also qb2 graphics does not look like hot trash like minecrafts.
I know this is a couple of years late, but I just recently bought DQB2 and am having a ton of fun with it. It is almost like a really good story-heavy Minecraft mod. After years of playing little other than modded Minecraft and a handful of Paradox games, I was a bit burned out, but DQB2 has really hit the spot.
i get bored with Minecraft, because i like having tasks to do or a reason for the game. i started out just making nfarms and homes etc, but got bored real quick. Where DQB2 I am endlessly doing quests, but I can do them how I like. EG: Building a bedroom for somone, can be how I want it to look, its not a specific set up pattern. Plus its so much cuter and I'm inb love with the characters.
No you aren’t wrong. I just started DQB2 yesterday and haven’t been able to put it down. I’m on the second island and I’ve been building tf outta the farm 🤣
I’ve played both... wasn’t as much of a fan of Minecraft. Sure, your exploration is yours and your story is what you make it... but I really enjoy the story of DQB2, and then it’s end-game is like creative mode in Minecraft, but I enjoy the options available more in DQB2 than I do in MC. I’m also the type who loved building in the Sims. I like making. I don’t need to feel like I’ve mined everything I use to build... it’s more busywork to me than fun... and the fun, for me, is in the building. Of course, creative mode on MC does this, but I feel like I have more options still on DQB2. Not to mention that I prefer the aesthetics. I feel like DQB2 is both a structured story with some aspects of survival and a creative building sim... and MC is a building sim and a survival-gathering game without a story. And I just feel that DQB2 has a little more variety to offer. You still have to gather everything you use throughout the story of the game until you’ve done it enough to know how and for it to have almost gotten to be busy-work, and then you’re moved onto something else. There’s progression and rewards for having done all of those things enough within game, not to have to continue to do them by yourself. Of course, it’s preference... but for the money... and the fact that one of the games has a bit more content and isn’t a game that’s many years old and already on every other platform... I would choose to spend my time and money on DQB2. Tl;dr.
@@shadowolf7023 I remember when apple fans talked about screen size, like 3.5 inch is perfect, and nobody needs a bigger one. I think Minecraft having not only blocks like some furniture etc will make it only better.
@@alexknn15 Yeah it would make it better but it also would make it feel less minecrafty in a way which would not make the game better like if you want furniture use mods or stuff like data packs
Wood, Minecraft has an insane amount of Mods on PC. Some of which include furniture, the ability to cut blocks into any shape, pet dragons, and shapeshifting. And the community can share their unique worlds (the generated map not structures) through "seeds" which is just serial number which sets the world gen rules. Minecraft can literally be any kind of game. Especially with blocks that let you write in game code.
I got the demo for Dragon quest builders 2 like four days ago because I can’t afford it yet but I really wanted to play it. Between still having to work 5-8 hours and still get at least 8 hours of sleep I beat it last night. Can’t wait for my paycheck I’m immediately buying it. Thank you for introducing me to this awesome game!
Wood, don't give up on doing something great! Once you get the buildnoculars, it's MUCH easier to make large structures. I felt overwhelmed looking at what other people made, but I've since been working on a large chapel and it's turning out a lot more beautifully than I would have previously thought I could manage. At most you just need to look at some of the other things people did, just to get ideas of creative ways to utilize all the different items. Like for my chapel I'm using stone railing in the WALLS, and making some triple-layered walls so I can have backlit stained glass windows, and all kinds of neat things I wouldn't have even initially thought of trying.
To be honest. I'm a fan of Minecraft and DBQ2. and in my opinion DBQ2 takes the win. Yup even a creative mode won't save it. DBQ2 has a massive story and you'll need to proceed with the story in order to make lots of things. Also the characters on DBQ2 is way more detailed. Buildings got much easier in DBQ2 due to it being listed. Unlike in Minecraft which you'll have to memorize the block patterns in order to build something on a workstation. Sure Minecraft has a creative mode. But keep in mind that DQB2 has a almost like a creative mode that requires exploration to islands to make infinite amount of certain materials which is often used to make something. Also DQB2 is a lot livelier than Minecraft. Sure Minecraft world is a lot bigger making DQB2 World look like a chunk of island. But nonetheless. I both love those games. I just liked DQB2 more than it's OG Minecraft. Glad Minecraft was there cause without it then DQB won't be created as well. Don't hate just love both of them.
@@barpoe1 are you dumb? Its the thing that defeats every point he makes on dqb2 in the video. You have unlimited of everything and can fly. You can do anything.
@@mikemercury5654 i have tried both game intensively... minecraft is only on equal level or better to *first* dragon quest builder... but against the dragon quest builder 2... minecraft is losing quite much in my opinion... Creative mode might allow you to fly... but dqb2 have lots of building tool... one of them is which can swap tiles... for example you already build one building using wood... and you want to change it to iron / gold / silver... you can use the tool without needed to disassemble all buildings. There also blueprints which can make you easily copy buildings... and your NPC villager can HELP you build them... Maybe you should try DQB2 and compare it with minecraft too. 😀
I do say at some point the vanilla game of Minecraft gets lacking, with I see why dragon quest may be superior on some parts. But when you add lots of mods on Minecraft, that’s extremely fun
What I don't like about Minecraft are the blocks. I wish it looked more like the blocks in Dragon Quest Builders. See how beautiful everything looks like DQB?
I have played more minecraft than DQ builders 2 and I love DQ builders 2 its better IMO.....but if u truly wanna play minecraft and have your mind blown, play it with HD textures and in VR..its is amazing.
can‘t be more stupid than someone who can‘t take OPINIONS. Anyway, i dont want to argue with a 12 years old, so do us a favor and get out my mentions ☺️
The world are different every time. But there is a thing called seeds and you can put that seed in the seed part when you make a new world. Like if I see a youtuber or a friend with a cool seed, I can use that seed to get that world
there's a seed called ECKOSOLDIER he's a youtuber aswell.. but it spawns you in a mesa biome... but I tried it like a month ago and it worked but I don't know about now... try it see if it works... also try without caps aswell
The thing about Minecraft is that it has new content every single year so once you're done with one update and wait till next year and there would be more things to do. I don't know much about Dragon Quest Builders so if Dragon Quest Builder also have updates every year please correct me. And also Minecraft has a cross platform system. Edit: I would love to try Dragon Quest Builders
Dragon quest Builders has just a little dlc and you can play it with other people even if they are on ps4 and your on switch. But I would definitely say Minecraft is still much better on the updates and cross platform gameplay because it's on basically every platform🙂
Go ahead and play it, it is worth a try. It is a refreshing change of a solid 50 hours, but you will eventually return to Minecraft since the world's you visit are small and your main one is tiny in comparison to limited world Minecraft. Again, it is worth one go. (Hardcore Minecraft fan here)
Now imagine Minecraft being updated with some of the features from Builder. Like a smooth combat system. Convenience features like building walls at once (late game perhaps). Something like the flying car (breeding a dragon after you beat the end dragon would be an obvious choice). Villagers that actually help doing the boring stuff like farming (not that getting food is a problem once you learn how to build a machine that automatically produces cooked chicken).
the wizard is actually a witch and your not gonna die from the poison of her bottles. SO fun watching you playing minecraft xD I played it before dragon quest builders, i was one of the first minecraft players in the old days and i think as you said before, both games have advantages and disadvantages and i like both of them in their own way :)
I haven’t played either of these games. Iv watched minecraft being built several times before but I was always cautious about buying it a Due to the survival aspect & complexities of completing quests and finding everything you need to build stuff. I like the idea that dragon quest builders gives you stuff and you are free to build what you want when you want as I play Apps like social city & FarmVille where I can create towns and farm and stuff. So I’m thinking dragons quest builders 2 might be more what I’m looking for in a game.
in Dragon Quest Builders 1, it was a bit tougher and somewhat similar to Minecraft, weapons broke constantly, your character could starve to death, the enemies caused damage just by touching them(and the attack range for the character was very small). and when you die you lose a good deal of your items and have to go re collect them where you died... also NPCs would get stuck on ledges if they followed you. But we could make some cool armor to prevent starving and falling deaths.
I had a ton of fun with Minecraft starting out, both in survival mode as well as creative (like, I built Serenity on one creative mode, complete with putting cows in the cargo hold, lol - in another one I built a huge castle). It definitely is a game that is whatever you make it to be. I think Minecraft's weakness is the way it fizzles out in the middle. Starting a new survival game, getting that base going and building up the farm, the enchantment room, etc, etc, that part is very enjoyable. But eventually I will have built that base, gotten the engine going, found diamonds, obsidian and all that, and for me, it becomes more of a chore by that point. Story is usually not an important aspect for me, but I find that having the story frame the adventure in Dragon Quest Builders really makes it a lot more fun for me. I also really appreciate that it has a much friendlier inventory system. The exploration isn't as important to me. Sure, Minecraft does give you a unique map to explore, but it can easily start feeling empty, especially if you seem to traverse through the same three or four biomes no matter how far you go. Don't mean to sound so negative, but for me, DQB felt like it took the fun aspects from Minecraft (resource gathering, crafting, building) and left out the more tedious stuff (the luck of the draw map generation, having to remember/look up crafting recipes on a wiki).
They're both good, but for me. Again. For me. Minecraft is $30 and it's receiving free updates until they stop (and if its on switch, updates will stop till probably the next nintendo console), while DQ Builders 2 you need a season pass, and it's $60 base game.
@@hilariouswolf9759 I just played the demo of Dragon Quest Builders 2 and I like it. But should I purchase the first one or go straight for the 2nd one?

I have two daughters, 13 and 9. One LOVES Minecraft to the point of obsession, the other LOVES anime and manga, to include Pokemon. Point it, I love both too and use that as a fantastic way to connect and bond with them. I play games and we talk about school and troubles, and really everything, using the video games as buffers. I play Pokemon competitively and share that with my daughters. I also spend a ton of time playing Minecraft with the other and she knows the game better than I do. Anyway, love the videos and thought I'd share. I'm not one that says one is better than the other, just that the games have been a great tool as a parent.
i personally prefer the dqbs series over minecraft and heres why: The Dragon quest buillders' games give you blueprints to build big stuff if your confused along with the game being more about building then fighting but in minecraft for like 10 minutes unless you have a house you have to fight also i love the dragon quest series (talking about the main line games) so its cool seeing things in there that are also in a game like minecraft so like its minecraft on steroids if you like building and you don't mind fighting but you don't want that to be the whole point of the game you should get it Oh! and the story the story in the dragon quest builders' games are just so good you can tell they put effort in it However there is a few downsides to the builders' games Going from dqb2 to dqb1 i find it harder how after each chapter you lose all ur items including ur tools instead of how in dqb2 u keep the tools but still lose ur items that you then get back Also in dqb2 the white text scenes omfg don't even get me started on those they are the most annoying thing ever and going from dqb2 to dqb1 i find resources are harder to get then in dqb2 or atleast more complicated like how to make wood you need to chop down a tree then go to a crafting table to make the wood when in dqb2 you just need to chop down the tree Even by all those flaws I still adore the dqb's series and dq series more then minecraft because of the story and just how jampacked in action and twists in a little game Overall, Get the game. if you like minecraft you will like the game
If you want a ton of materials in Minecraft, besides creative mode, you build farm areas that most likely uses redstone. The way Minecraft is structured, you would need to learn what mob drops, how mobs spawn, and stuff like that. Thats something that would go over the heads of most players which is why people watch the smart pro players that figures all this stuff for us. Having unlimited items like DQB2 in Minecraft would be nice, but sometimes its nice to build mechanisms to get materials for you is really creative and fun too. Its why I like survival Minecraft more than creative. Although, I don't know enough of Bedrock redstone, so some of those tutorials might not work for you since it might be for Java edition.
Please check out creative mode in minecraft... I feel like when you talked about how if you have an idea in dragon quest builders then you can just make it and you might not have known about creative mode because you said it can't be done in minecraft... Creative mode is just that, you can fly around, you have all the blocks and you can't die. The game and all it has to offer is your to explore and experiment with! I would love it if you made a video about Creative mode in minecraft. Thanks and keep the great vids coming =D
I had a lot of fun with DQB1, and DQB2 is taken to the next level in multiple ways. Really love it! Don’t get me wrong, there are things I’d fix in DQB2, but makes me really excited to see the series continue as a fun side series to the main Dragon Quest games. I really hope they make DQB3, especially with how much 2 was improved over 1. I was at like 150hrs played when I finished the story. I’m sure I could have knocked it out much much earlier, but I really took my time between doing the various missions and whatnot. But now I’m just getting into free building and the post-game.. I still have lots to do, unlocking stuff on top of just building my island! ✌️😎 To anyone that’s into creative building games like this, I hope you check out DQB2 at some point!
Aa a player of both game, I personally prefer DQB2 over Minecraft, as the fast building in DQB2 really beat the Mojang's gem, even creative mode can't save Minecraft
Hmm I think he has a fair point, both games are similar and at the same time very different and I don't think either hit the nail directly. Everything I love about minecraft, the survival aspect and open world exploration and the ability to just do whatever I want to do is missing from DQB2 (until you get to the end anyway) however I just love the graphics, the building mechanics, the tools, the story of DQB2 as well. I think if DQB2 had an extreme survival mode and just a dangerous huge island to explore that would be pretty awesome. I love that in minecraft you aren't spoon fed anything but the scope is so limitless like I was suprised about redstone? And the ability to make circuits and working mechanics. My nephew is a pretty damn good electrician now and it was all through discovering how it works on minecraft.
I have only played some of the first Dragon Quest Builders and I enjoyed it. However, the building was more difficult than in Minecraft since it was in 3rd person and I felt kind of constrained. You couldn't build whatever you wanted right away. They gave you new materials and equipment over hours of gameplay. In Minecraft, if you know what you're doing, you can get started on building almost whatever within the first couple of hours. If you want, you can get diamonds pretty quickly or build a skyscraper. You don't have to wait for the quest that gives you the materials you want. I couldn't break stone until hours into DQB, whereas in Minecraft, I can get stone within the first minute. Also, Minecraft has mods, adventure maps, resource packs, creative mode, etc... There were things in DQB that I loved, but it is a different experience and both games are great. I look forward to playing DQB2 when I get a Switch, although there are several games I want before it.
Now im not a dragon quest builder player so idk if it is in dragon quest too but what u love about in minecraft is when your done with your house you also start making farm and evantually automatic farms. But i do have to give it to DQB for multiple bosses and enemies.
Minecraft has existed for way longer than Builders yet Builders is way better with the building aspect yes creative mode exists but to me it feels like cheating
Hey beatemups it’s me! Pedro! I played Friday the thirteenth with you once and I kept crouching, I tried to say I’m a big fan but didn’t have a microphone! I hope you read this comment and reply! have an awesome day!
I got DQB because of your video and the hype in the comments... made me start Minecraft again. There are reasons people still play that game 10 years later. I like games that don’t hold my hand and redstone.
Dan Bártík Id definitely like that but no. DQB is more centered around building rooms with specific decor to provide your villagers with certain task. There’s about 15 different rooms with 4 different types. Housing, dormitories, farms and barracks.
I would say that dqb2 could be as good as Minecraft if there were no redstone, but the depth of that one mechanic is just unbeatable. Of course both are good, but dqb needed a sequel to stay relevant.
It's the NPC pathing, the game lets you have 60 different NPCs per island, and every NPC has their own little daily routine, so the more complicated the building and the more NPCs you have, the more complicated the NPC pathing, which actually is what causes the framerate drops. also, it's much much better on ps4.
@@CaptainsRath you're comparing the pc version of a game with a completely different game on the switch. of course the pc game is going to have a better framerate.
CherryBomb0388 I’m talking about minecraft on switch to builders 2 on switch, minecraft runs at 60fps and idk what builders 2 runs at but it is probably below 30fps

I just tried it out for the first time. DbQ2 is amazing but should I purchase the 2nd one or go for the 1st one? It almost seems silly to buy the 1st one knowing the 2nd one is out.
@@keithpalacios9417 I went with both because I like to work in order, but it really depends, there's no need to play 1 before 2 in terms of story, 2 is chronologically after one but totally separate otherwise. There are a few bonuses if you have played one before two you get extra recipes that you can only get that way. Having both also means more gameplay from the series which is a great thing. That's just my 2 cents worth though.
@@keithpalacios9417 depends, it's two items, a dresser where you can change your hair, and the dragonlord's throne which turns you into the dragonlord while you're sitting on it. I don't think Wood would like Creative mode tbh. When you compare it to DQB2, MC creative is not nearly as user friendly. You saw all the different building tools there was in DQB2 right? Creative mode is pretty bare-bone when compared to that imho.

*creative mode*
Wrong
Man were you WRONG (sadly)
Minecraft has a ton more block types, biomes, things that can be built, and barely any limitations.
DQB2 has villagers who have jobs and a sense of society, an RPG story that takes center stage.
In the end, those things about DQB2 are what make it more appealing to me, despite the limitations. I love creating stuff and watching my villagers use them.
I saw you videos on dragon quest builders 2 and started playing and now I am a dragon quest builders fan. lol
Still like minecraft but to me they still, feel very different.
I just played the demo and I love it. But should I buy the new one or try out first one? The first one is 50 bucks.

At first I thought this will not end well. But you handled the video really well. Also a little tip. In the settings of DQB2 on page 4 there are options to make the windows appear at the border of the water and you can also enable to see the water effects through windows. :)

DQB2 is what minecraft story mode should have been
i get bored with Minecraft, because i like having tasks to do or a reason for the game. i started out just making nfarms and homes etc, but got bored real quick.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😳😳😳

I've played both. I prefer dq2 . Minecraft I just couldn't get into. But loving dq2.
Man I remember playing Dragon Quest 2. Good times. But Dragon Quest BUILDERS 2 is pretty good as well.

I’ve read the comments and honesty... The only problem with Minecraft is it’s toxic community.
DQB2 has actual anime chibis Instant win, while MC only has skins.
in Dragon Quest Builders 1, it was a bit tougher and somewhat similar to Minecraft, weapons broke constantly, your character could starve to death, the enemies caused damage just by touching them(and the attack range for the character was very small). and when you die you lose a good deal of your items and have to go re collect them where you died... also NPCs would get stuck on ledges if they followed you.
I haven't played both of them, but I will say that DQB2 seems like much more fun.

When you see what real builders can do with Minecraft then we can talk...
i personally prefer the dqbs series over minecraft and heres why:
The Dragon quest buillders' games give you blueprints to build big stuff if your confused along with the game being more about building then fighting but in minecraft for like 10 minutes unless you have a house you have to fight also i love the dragon quest series (talking about the main line games) so its cool seeing things in there that are also in a game like minecraft so like its minecraft on steroids if you like building and you don't mind fighting but you don't want that to be the whole point of the game you should get it
Oh! and the story the story in the dragon quest builders' games are just so good you can tell they put effort in it
However there is a few downsides to the builders' games
Going from dqb2 to dqb1 i find it harder how after each chapter you lose all ur items including ur tools instead of how in dqb2 u keep the tools but still lose ur items that you then get back
Also in dqb2 the white text scenes omfg don't even get me started on those they are the most annoying thing ever
and going from dqb2 to dqb1 i find resources are harder to get then in dqb2 or atleast more complicated like how to make wood you need to chop down a tree then go to a crafting table to make the wood when in dqb2 you just need to chop down the tree
Even by all those flaws I still adore the dqb's series and dq series more then minecraft because of the story and just how jampacked in action and twists in a little game
Overall, Get the game. if you like minecraft you will like the game
Since minecraft has both a creative and survival mode experience I think it's as good if not better than dqb2 but that's just my opinion
Wood : this is insane.
Ad : this is udemy.
:-)
Please check out creative mode in minecraft... I feel like when you talked about how if you have an idea in dragon quest builders then you can just make it and you might not have known about creative mode because you said it can't be done in minecraft...
Creative mode is just that, you can fly around, you have all the blocks and you can't die. The game and all it has to offer is your to explore and experiment with! I would love it if you made a video about Creative mode in minecraft. Thanks and keep the great vids coming =D
You should play Terraria and compare it to these two
@Toshown Roberts no what?
To anyone that’s into creative building games like this, I hope you check out DQB2 at some point!
I got DQB2 because of your videos and I am addicted.
Also though, do you know there is a creative mode in Minecraft.
Aa a player of both game, I personally prefer DQB2 over Minecraft, as the fast building in DQB2 really beat the Mojang's gem, even creative mode can't save Minecraft
Minecraft has a great title screen, that says: "Also try Terraria!" Maybe you should listen to its advice...
And terraria sometimes has also play minecraft
They are called splashes btw
I prefer DQB simply because I like having a mission system to give me a sense of direction. I have the same problem with open world games.
Love you're vids wood best youtuber ever I like both games equally
My nephew is a pretty damn good electrician now and it was all through discovering how it works on minecraft.
also if you want to just have unlimited resources in minecraft and just build things, you can go in creative mode!
Never liked Minecraft. Absolutely obsessed with DQB2.
Bro you can also make things in survival mode many people have made so many cool things in survival mode.
Hey beatemups it’s me! Pedro! I played Friday the thirteenth with you once and I kept crouching, I tried to say I’m a big fan but didn’t have a microphone! I hope you read this comment and reply! have an awesome day!
Send help I can't stop playing DQB2
I got DQB because of your video and the hype in the comments... made me start Minecraft again. There are reasons people still play that game 10 years later. I like games that don’t hold my hand and redstone.
Can DQB have something similiar to redstone?
Dan Bártík Id definitely like that but no. DQB is more centered around building rooms with specific decor to provide your villagers with certain task. There’s about 15 different rooms with 4 different types. Housing, dormitories, farms and barracks.
I forgot workshops
I would say that dqb2 could be as good as Minecraft if there were no redstone, but the depth of that one mechanic is just unbeatable.
Of course both are good, but dqb needed a sequel to stay relevant.
Now, you must try Terraria, it’s a very great game :)
You make me want to play Dragon Quest Builders 2, still not crazy about Minecraft but DQB2 is tempting me.
The framerate in Builders 2 seems rough. Part 1 ran fine on Switch.
It looks so bad I aint even buying this
You look at Minecraft with 60fps and then builders 2 with its 20 FPS max
That coral tunnel idea omg I love it and want it for myself now I just finished my game like an hour ago and still finding new thing in builders 2 can I borrow ur idea wood that’s amazing 🤯
YOU NEED TO PLAY TERRARIA!!! It's deeper than Minecraft AND DQBuilders2. I LOVVVED DQBuilders2, I bought it after you recommended it and I fell in looooovvveeee.
I have been thinking of playing terraria since it's on the Xbox game pass but people on the review page say that a update ruin it so I'm not sure
Both... Both is good.
I genuinely adore both games, I've been playing Minecraft since the alpha days, and only just got into the Dragon Quest Builders games after wanting the first one for a long time but constantly putting off buying it, but your videos were the kick in the pants I needed to slap down that cash.
@@absotivelypawsilutely Do you think the recipes are worth getting the 1st one?
@@keithpalacios9417 depends, it's two items, a dresser where you can change your hair, and the dragonlord's throne which turns you into the dragonlord while you're sitting on it. The first one you get for putting down the banner at the start of the game, the second you get for completing the story in dqb1 and having a save where you've done those things. If those appeal to you then I'd say yes play dqb1 first, if not then you can always return to buy it at a later date after dqb2 if you feel like it.
@@absotivelypawsilutely Ahhhh. You don't have to play the 1st one first in order to get the items. That's cool. I guess I might just get the 2nd one first then.
