My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 19-year-old 4th-generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great-grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
Your dad is the coolest, hardest, one of the smartest dads ever. America loves stories and journeys of hard working generations of what America is all about.

If this is a recent video, Kate looks like she's doing very well. She's such a nice person, and I always wish her the best! Thanks to her and her family and farm for helping to feed America and the world! I know it's hard work.
From age 11 to 32, among my other jobs, I've worked cattle, hay production, and wheat harvest. Had I not gone into law enforcement full time, I would have likely continued with the ag full time. I'm retired and into a desk retirement job now, in a whole different vocation. I watch your videos to remind me of when I was very happy.

You are both wrong. 😂 one pitfall many people have is rushing in to things, and letting emotions cloud judgement. But another one is always thinking something is better around the next corner, and letting people and opportunities slip through your fingers.
Prayer, meditation, and just doing the next right thing that CAN be done, that’s all one can do in life. We can only imprint ourselves on so many people, you make a photo copy of yourself every time, then a copy of that copy, and on down the line, and you end up a faint image of what you were.
My wife is with Jesus now, and we have enough casseroles dropped off and people volunteering to help. Mostly single gals from mid 20’s up to their 50’s. I would never put any of them in a situation where they are dealing with a man who still walks in to a room, out of the blue, he can feel his wife there, smell her perfume. I’ve had a few offers to keep it casual. I won’t do that to myself, or any potential future partner.
So as a dad of 7, 4 of them ladies, I’m prepared to let them go when they are ready, instead of when I am ready. They will know, my wife and I did our best, and despite my 3 year Mary Katherine, our own “Kate”, being so young, her mom is very much a part of her life. We go to the gravesite and she tells her mommy everything she learned since the last visit. She knows the capital of every state, can read some, and is learning some Spanish now.
Kates mom and dad did a great job. She has this.

Great to watch Kate! It is funny you mentioned losing the wheel, I remember so well. I think it must be bad when it starts raining if you are in the fields with the combine. I watched the news about the small tornado near Great Falls, hope nothing bad happened. Great to see the old schoolbuilding at the end, I remember your family started renovating it. Nothing beats a Montana sunset, lived in Montana in the 70s I had the pleasure of enjoying them, also when we were visiting my grandparents!!!

That combine is more of a spaceship than a farm implement!
For people not involved in agriculture, they'd be surprised at the level of sophistication on modern day tractors and combines.
At least some of the tech does have its origins in the space programme of the 60s and 70s.

Once again as you share about those Montana Wheat Fields. ~~~ I go right into what sailors say on the Ocean. One nautical term that is derived there is "VAST". sort of like "Avast you land lubbers." Yea. Vast. Thats the word of the day here. Your fields are a Vast Sea of Wheat. Awesome! No Doubt About it. ~~ from New Hampshire.

Presumeably with picking up previously swathed crop , the combine will pick it up in the opposite direction to when it was cut, to ensure heads first feeding ?
That's a good point, but we actually pick up the same way it was cut as the wheat heads lay behind the swather
@@KatesAg ah yes, I can visualise what you mean, since the Swather Reel will tip the stalks backwards against the cutter bar, and so they face the opposite way to the Swather's direction of travel, when the crop exits the swathing table aperture.
Having read other comments on your further education, may I ask what made you choose the establishment you ended up studying at, and are you studying for any particular qualification ?

I think was last year and I’m sorry I disappeared because I did not want to bother you and yes, you are a good person and I know you have a good heart you care about everybody all you workers you work with and your family, but I want you to be strong. I got faith in you and I hope everything’s good and I miss you. I would love to see you happy and smiling like I said I lost tires too before fell off the tractor going down the road someone must been playing with the tractor, it was not fun lucky it didn’t flip over on me. It just slipped down the road by 50 feet and it was fun brand new tractor you believe it but you have a nice day if you wanna talk I’m here. I would love to be your friend yes, I am always your friend. I need to tell you, but I want I want you stay healthy and I miss you. I really care for you so I see you soon. Your friend always stay safe where your seatbelt on the tractor I don’t want you get hurt.
