Kimi might've won the WDC in 07 with Ferrari but 2005 Mclaren Kimi will always be the GOAT! In terms of raw pace, the fastest I've seen in my life, ever.
I calculated that in 2005 if Mclaren didn't had the reliability issues, and Kimi's suspension failure on Nurburgring didn't happen, he would have 142 points and Alonso would have 123 points. Also Mclaren could have 212 points and Renault 181... And Kimi could become a World Champion in Suzuka. He was so unlucky that year... Anyway, correct me if i'm wrong.
If Lewis Hamilton would have won China 2007 he would be World Champion that year, if Eddie Irvine would have won 1999s final race he could be a world champion... you can add almost any season to that list. That's rubbish, bad luck is part of motorsport. However, Kimi was the fastest driver back then.
Marcio Antonio Alvarez Baldelomar how does what happened in 2014 have any correlation to 2005 , kimi was at his peak in 2005 and many believed he was the fastest driver on the grid . It is astonishing how much the two legends, Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonson, resemble each other. They came to Formula 1 at the same time in 2001. Both have been driving for Ferrari for many years. Both McLaren for both five years (Kimi 2002-2006, Fernando 2007, 2015-2018). Also in Enstone's team, which in Kimi's case was Lotus and Fernando Renault. Kimi achieved more with Ferrari and McLaren, but Alonso had more to reach Enston. Both are great world champions who fought for the title at the same time in 2005 and 2007. The second time Kimi won and another Fernando. Kim has more podiums, But Fernando has a little more profits. Impossible to say which of these better drivers. Certainly at the same level.
Kimi was faster, but only when the car suits his style of driving... He have trouble to adapt when the car dont correspond to him... Alonso can adapt better on every car... So, it's 50/50
@@wtzarcher Alonso is better without a question. Kimi as you said needs a car that suits him to get the kick out of it. With it he is the fastest in the world easily. But without it he becomes questionable... Alonso probably not as fast as Kimi in quali but certainly better in the race pace and fast in his own right but a much more versatile driver. He came from Renault to Mclaren who drove completely differently on completely different tyres and almost won the championship. He is also a master at strategy ableing to convert so many impossible wins to wins at the end. Excuse for Kimi cant be that the 2014 ferrari didnt suit him because the car was equally crap for him and Fernando and real driver adapts to any car which Fernando was succesfully able to do throughout his years in f1.
Williams montoya was much faster than montoya at mclaren, probably on the level of schumacher, alonso and raikkonen, dont believe me, watch his qualy for the detroit gp at belle isle in 1999 in cart, that was a very good lap
2003 would have won if McLaren didn’t fucked up the development of the 2003 car or had they put more effort on their updated 2002 car but even then won’t be easy holding of Montoya and Schumacher who got vastly superior cars. plus Kimi lost like 2-3 potential race wins due to no fault of his own but made some crucial errors in qualifying like Barcelona and Canada while made a mistake at silverstone costing him a lot of points
2003 he realistically shouldnt. Schumacher won the most races that year 6 to be exact so he deservedly won the championship. Kimi had only one victory the whole season and benefited greatly from a new points scoring system that separated 1st and 2nd place by only 2 points. With an old points system Kimi realistically wouldnt have a chance. About 2005 we can definitely argue. He preformed rly good that year but the car let him down so many times. Quick Question, is this uploaded by Steve Hallam's Son? Also, never noticed this before but look how close Kimi gets to the wall at 2:50 absolutely precision driving, maybe even some Tyre marks on the wall. The MP4-20 was pretty much the perfect car disregarding the reliability.
Were the 2009 F1 cars really strong at slow speed corners especially like the hairpin at Monaco? I feel like the cars being still 600kg then, relatively short wheelbase and full slick tires including wider front slicks before they became more narrow in 2010 would allow them to have a lot of mechanical grip and agility at hairpins
How I imagine Webber felt: "Alright, provisional pole with two to go. They're fast, but how much will they risk?" *Alonso comes along and beats your time by 0.459 seconds* "Ok, second isn't a bad place to start. Still front row.
